So, I shuffled over to the ice cream side, where the same family was still mid-sundae saga. I waited (patiently, like a saint in line for a miracle), but not even a "be right with you!" from the staff. One young lady was making ice cream magic for the family, while another wiped things down with the intensity of someone training for the Clean Olympics, but neither said a word. Two more families came in with their kids; clearly, this is THE spot for a post-gas snack. One of the young ladies finally approached, looking like she'd rather be anywhere else. I ordered my shake (victory!) and, remembering my grilled cheese dreams, asked about it. She told me I had to order at the other counter, so off I went again. Still, no one was there, so I peeked around the pick-up window and spotted someone hiding (maybe from me, maybe from the cheese). Finally, order placed!
