I was heading over to sticky Bun and they were closed. Across the parking lot I saw this cafe. So I decided to give it a try and so glad I did! I sat outside because my gf and I had our dog with us. Inside it was cozy looking and very small these are the little gems you find when your not looking. We were greeted by sherry who was super friendly and very helpful on what to order. She even brought our dog some water I had blueberry pancakes they were light and fluffy super good. My gf had the French crepe it came with two big crepes filled with brie, eggs and mushrooms. It was delicious! Potatoes were seasoned very well...even the coffee was good. Definitely will be back..looking forward to trying other dishes. Service & food was decent, to say the least. I appreciated being greeted by others as we walked in. I ordered French toast well done & our table also ordered the quiche of the day (delicious if you like runny eggs) & 2 breakfast orders, 1 for a child & 1 for an adult. Server mixed up the breakfast orders & gave the adult the child's portion (w/wrong side) & the child the adult portion. Server quickly brought the correct side for the adult but never did bring the 2nd egg the adult ordered. Both parties enjoyed the food. I didn't think it would be difficult to get the well done French toast wrong but apparently it is more difficult than anticipated. I made sure everyone in my party tasted it before sending it back & all agreed- it tasted like raw egg batter & soggy toast. I asked to have it cooked more & any other place would probably have brought a new well-done portion considering it was already covered in powdered sugar. At Sylvain's, they 'cooked' the same French toast a bit more & completely covered it in more powdered sugar. I was hopeful it would be better but it was still awfully raw - sweet, soggy, thin & stale. As I mentioned, I was told the quiche was wonderful & I did end up filling up on the homestyle potatoes since I could not bring myself to finish the French toast. My party who liked the runny egg quiche ended up eating most of it. The server did come back to check on us but never asked how the food was - with good reason. I would not have left this review had the server cared more or taken the French toast off the check ($5.75). We also had to get up to pay after waiting for over 15 minutes for the server to take our card. read more

For the past three weeks, my Aunt and I have had lunch at Sylvain's. And for three weeks I've been meaning to write a review. Now, I'll schmoosh the meals all together into one post. The first week I had the BEST Cuban sandwich ever. The second week I had a breaded chicken breast sandwich to die for, and today I had his special patty melt with gooey cheese and mushrooms and bacon. Yumm. Wow! Great food but what a horrible experience. There were 2 couples waiting before us. Several tables were available but the "manager" stated to my husband that 2 tops are only seated at a 2 top. He then seated a 2 at a bistro table for 3, the other 2 at a 2 top and a single woman walked in 15 minutes after us and was seated at the other bistro for 3. We finally sat at a "2 top" and had to fix the table from shaking because his attempt was laughable. We ordered two specials from the board that were supposed to come with a small mimosa that never came. When the food finally came a tall female line cook in the kitchen started yelling to the servers about confusion with a table number, she was not even 2 feet away. We mentioned to the manager that she's 10 feet from us yelling and can she please stop. He kinda pushed it off, she did this the whole while. To top it off, the owner is standing right next to her and must have over heard is because he calmly talked to the servers and resolved the issue. She just keep up being loud though. After telling the manager how bad this was, he made a joke, no apology from him, the owner, nothing. A server that wasn't even ours brought the check apologizing. What a disgrace. 43 years in this business and I've never seen this disregard for respect. Never again. The sad thing is, several friends told us the food was great so we tried it....now sylvain lost their business too, good going guys! read more

Authentic French crepes stuffed to bursting with fresh primo ingredients and served up hot with your choice of sides: I had the Parisian Crepes - three fluffy eggs, buttery brie, ham and mushrooms gently enveloped in a crepe that's light as a feather and perfectly cooked. I had crab cake eggs benedict with home fries which was delicious. Service was prompt and attentive for refills, condiments, take away box etc. She knew the menu and the specials. His eggs Benedict are to die for, homemade holandaise sauce, can't be beat, they do the eggs exactly like you want them, runny, medium, or well they will do it. This place fires on all engines. The staff is very welcoming and attentive; they are enthusiastic about the menu and raved about the owner / cook. The menu is a rich range of breakfast and lunch options. I had the cheese shrimp cakes with eggs, one of us had the crepes, and one of us had an omelet. From the first bite, we kept reiterating how great the meal was. And the price was extremely reasonable. I came here for breakfast. The food is good. Everything is fresh and very tasty. The food came out very quickly and they are busy. The chefs cook out in the open so it's cool to see them work. The only draw back is I didn't see gloves on their hands. But they weren't really touching the food with their hands either so it may not be too big of a deal. After the food being good, the best thing about this place is the service. The girls work very hard. They run around like crazy with a smile on their face. What more can you ask for? read more

We love this local place in The Cove. Food "always fresh" naturally if you have an omelet it takes longer.. my special is the Greek Omelet. Servers always friendly. Don't choose Sylvain's If you are hungry. Took almost an hour for breakfast. It shouldn't take an hour to make biscuits and gravy, a waffle, and 2 side orders of bacon. I even called ahead and they said 20 mins. Add another 30 minutes to that. The service was terrible. I stood at the counter when I first got there waiting patiently to be helped and when someone finally came over she helped the man behind me. Wow. No one said sorry for the wait. They kept telling me "just a few mins". Well after just a few 30 mins the food finally appeared. The food was hardly worth the wait. The waffle was chewy and hard to eat. We live in Boca and love to go out for breakfast on the weekends. We have struggled to find a place that serves good corned beef hash. This place has the BEST breakfast we have had! The corned beef hash was excellent. The frittata was perfect! The hash browns were super crispy and excellent. The eggs bennedict was awesome! They even served cappucino and assorted teas. Came here for the first time my with my best friend before going to the beach. We had to wait a little for a table but it was sooo worth it.
