The wound Dr Brown assessed without even touching the wound
    Wendy K.

So where do we start... Our family dog got viciously attacked by a pitbull while taking his daily walk on a leash. We took him to our vet right away, but really couldn't see any marks due to his dense hair, but was advised by the vet, if we see anything, come right back. The following week while giving him a bath, that's when we noticed a puncture in his skin the size of a quarter! We took him right back to the vet and he advised we go somewhere where they would accommodate surgery if needed. After calling MULTI places, I finally found Urgent Paws (and although it was 15miles out) we decided with all the great reviews, we would take him here. On the phone, the assistance was great, and even when we walked in (we were the ONLY ones there) the VA's where great. Gentle with the dog, caring, petting him for assurance. Then we waited for almost 15mins + for Dr. Brown to come in. Right off the bat, her vibe was not assuring. My dog did not feel comfortable with her AT ALL. From the door, she had the VA give us a muzzle to put on my dog (which I understand for some dogs may get vicious). She then comes, checks his pulse, just LOOKS at the wound (doesn't even TOUCH IT) and walks out. 15+mins later, the VA comes in with the estimate of procedure. The exam fee was $141 They stated we needed surgery (once again without even really LOOKING at his wounds) and the cost would be $2500+ - $3500+ depending. AND that doesn't guarantee that they would be even ABLE to finish the procedure. If during the procedure they feel they cannot finish, then we would need to get transferred to ANOTHER facility. They told me I can get some time to think about it, BUT if I decide to come back the next day, since it would be ANOTHER doctor that would be looking at our dog, they would charge us ANOTHER $75 and the assessment from THAT doctor might be different. WHAT! It seemed like they were just out there for the money.. So, I decided to call my friends with pets and contacted The Veterinary Care Center in Hollywood. They were REALLY friendly, and I got a spot for the next day @ 10:30am. When we arrived, staff was great. Didn't have to wait long for Dr. Klem to come in. He was SO friendly, even got comfortable with my dog, and was looking around his whole body not just for that one injury, but incase he had others from the attack. They gave me different options, but I was told that he did NOT need surgery, and if they cleaned the wound, it would eventually heal itself within a month. BUT If we really did want surgery, it would cost $1500 - $1900 (due to his age and weight). OMG! The best place ever! AND their assessment charge was only $85 VS Urgent Paws $141.. Urgent Paw's Fee $141 (nothing done) The Veterinary Care Center Fee $455.65 (everything included with a happy dog) I'm sorry, but I would NEVER come back here again.... Dr Brown, at least feel out the pets and see their wounds before giving an assessment.

We had to bring our Pomeranian in unexpectedly, and the team at Urgent Paws was amazing from start to finish. The staff was incredibly reassuring, kind, and patient during a really stressful time for us.They worked quickly and efficiently, and we appreciated how thorough they were ! they performed blood work and X-rays right away to make sure our little one was properly evaluated. Communication was clear, and we truly felt like our pup was in good hands.we were in and out quicker than we expected! So grateful for their compassion and professionalism. Highly recommend if your fur baby ever needs urgent care.

This place has saved the day twice for me! Dr. Brown is AMAZING and their prices are the lowest in town for veterinary care while having the nicest facility with the best staff that my pup loves. He usually hates when we are at the groomers or other vets, but he actually loves it here!

My family and I had an amazing experience at Urgent Paw in Monrovia. Cassie, the veterinarian, is absolutely wonderful and nice and so caring, knowledgeable, and patient. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure my pet felt comfortable the entire visit. Her staff is just as great: friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. The clinic itself is extremely clean, well-organized, and welcoming, which really helped put my mind at ease. You can tell they truly care about both the animals and their owners. I'm very grateful for the excellent care we received and would highly recommend Urgent Paw in Monrovia to anyone looking for a great vet and a supportive team. LUV MARLA and Parents

    Dr Wells helping our pup!

This place is amazing! All of the staff were incredible. We went there with concern that our pup may have something lodged in his nose as he kept sneezing violently. The doc removed six foxtail pieces from our lab's nose! Everyone was thorough and compassionate. Will definitely remember this place for next urgent care visit. Thank you for helping our pup!

The fur baby's thank you for the love

He had been in a slow decline that suddenly turned rapid, and I knew we were at the end. What stood out most was the veterinarian's honesty. They checked his vitals, but we didn't pursue extensive diagnostics. Instead, he spoke candidly about what he was seeing--neurologically, Baxter was not himself and had clearly lost significant muscle mass. At his age, there was likely more going on than one treatable issue. The veterinarian could have easily recommended a long list of tests. Instead, he gave me real guidance. When I asked what he would do if it were his own dog, he told me he would choose euthanasia at this stage, explaining that "a day or a week too early is better than a day too late" to avoid unnecessary suffering. I had been struggling with this decision for a while, and that honesty helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It meant everything. Once I made the decision, the compassion from the staff was incredible. They handled everything with such care, dignity, and kindness. I've also been here before when Baxter was first diagnosed with heart failure, and had the same experience. The veterinarian literally told me it wasn't an emergency and that I could either proceed with treatment there or follow up with my regular vet the next day and save the cost of emergency care. That level of transparency really stuck with me. I'm truly grateful for this team and this office. If you're ever in a difficult situation with your pet, this is a place where you'll receive honest, compassionate care--not pressure to run unnecessary tests or take advantage of a vulnerable moment. Five stars, without hesitation.

A lady came out not to greet us but told us that they close at 11PM due to new management and this is place is sold to another company. The doctor was seeing the last patient of the day and was referring us to another clinic in Glendora. We told her to please ask the doctor to take a look at our cat. We are willing to pay double the visiting fee. She went in for about 5 minutes and then another gentleman came out and told us the same thing. The clinic was sold and we close at 11PM now, etc. I took out my phone and showed him that it's 10:27PM. He said they wouldn't have enough time to do procedures to our cat. I told him our cat is old and he can't handle that much pressure anymore going to Glendora.. Long story short, this place has last call like some high end restaurant and I'm guessing everyone wants to get off work right at 11PM. Good luck with the "new management last call clinic". Getting off work is their first priority and not saving pets lives!

I've noticed her health has been declining for the past few months. She was losing a lot of weight and barely eating. Today, going into my garage, I thought she had passed. She was just lying down and not moving. As I approached her, she was barely breathing. I knew it was time to humanely euthanize, something I really didn't want to do. Calling every 24 vet emergency care in the vicinity, I was quoted $600 plus. The last vet I called was Access and the receptionist was beyond healthful and sympathetic. She gave me options no other clinics did and for that I am forever indebted to Access. Everyone was extremely gentle. I noticed a vet tech had swollen eyes, like she's been crying. So you know there are caring professionals who work here. Their work really isn't easy, so maybe when patients get that desensitized attitude from them, it's something we can't comprehend because we are on the other end. And have no idea what they have to go through too. Again, thank you for taking care of Snowball during her last breath! I know she's at peace living it up in heaven with her original owner.

Visited Glendora Emergency initially out of concern of the low Yelp rating for Access. Glendora did the bloodwork and X-rays, and prescribed metronidazole. The first 5 days on the med suggests she's getting better. However, the symptoms returned a week later and she stopped eating for 3 days. We then visited Access. Same initial process (bloodwork, X-ray). Finding nothing, and to pursue the root cause, ultrasound is suggested as it's the next step in the process. Like many I was hesitant at first. Symptoms continued so I brought her back the next day for IV treatment and ultrasound. Early evening I contacted Access and was expecting another diagnostic recommendation. But to my suprise they identified the root cause, acute pancreatitis. I was so relieved and grateful for their efforts. I thought the metronidazole caused my pet to stop eating, but the Dr took a bigger picture approach and was able to ID the root cause. Appetite enhancer, pain med, and probiotics were prescribed. And in both visits, refunds were issued for some of the estimates which was already paid. This demonstrates some level of honesty and integrity. Within a week, the symptoms began to subside. The stool went from black to brown, watery to soft and now solid. No more vomits or pain. The experience improved my perspective and opinion on vets. Yes, you may find out what the issue is through googling, but they still have a process to follow to identify and confirm the issue. In the end, it's all worth it.

I was very excited because Siberian Husky was a dream for me since 2012. So, I was pretty sure to look for a good breeder and I found one. I sent my information to Ashley through imessage and she sent me pictures of Kody & Kira and said that these are going to be the Mom & Dad of your pup. Now I was really excited because my actual plan was to surprise my girlfriend on her birthday and I can bring the puppy home any day around her birthday which was a very convenient birthday surprise. On April 2, 2019 Ashley and I became Facebook friends and I saw her MAMA's Howling Pups pages on social media platforms and we gained more trust on each other. On the same day, I confirmed her that I'm getting my Siberian Husky from her and I wanted a female. So, my status was "1st reserved female". I was interested in getting a Husky puppy with a specific mask, a black mask with white eyebrows and I wasn't interested in the eye color because Ashley told me and made me understand that eye color doesn't matter as long as they have healthy eyes. On April 25, 2019 Kira was popping out the babies and I already decided a name for my puppy and it was 'Sharvara' (google it) and Sharvara was born as the 5th puppy and she didn't have the mask I wanted (no cute eyebrows) but she looked like a little panda baby but there was a baby with the mask I wanted but it's a male baby and my friend Leny chose him. Ashley said we are having another litter pretty soon, if you don't like her mask we will wait until the next litter and see if that litter has a female puppy with the mask you wanted but I really liked Sharvara for the panda look. I said it's alright Ashley, I will take this one. But I went crazy on April 30, 2019. Mila & Kody's litter - Mila had her babies on April 30, 2019 and she had a puppy (a female) with the exact mask I wanted. My mind was changing but I cannot just give up on Sharvara for the mask! Okay what do I do? I asked my girlfriend, if we ever get a puppy? what would you name her? she said 'Aaira'. I was like, okay I'm getting another puppy from this litter as well and named her Aaira. Normally dogs (especially Siberian Huskies) are pack animals and they have communal brain. They do well when they are together with a minimum of 2 huskies. I searched all over the internet about getting 2 huskies at one time because this was a surprise event for me. I never thought that I would have 2 huskies. After my research, I found that handling 2 huskies is a lot easier than handling 1 lonely husky and that's the truth because I'm experiencing it right now. Ashley has separate group chats for each litter in FB messenger app where you can socialize with your sibling puppy parents. She shared pictures as they opened their eyes and she sends pictures with their weights each week. On June 23, 2019 (for 2 months puppies stay with their mothers) I was able to bring Sharvara and Aaira home but I was doomed because my stupid apartment community didn't allow siberian huskies. I had to move to a new community. I gave a 30-day notice and I cannot keep the puppies at my home. I texted Ashley and asked her what to do, because I cannot entrust anyone else but Ashley with my puppies and leaving them at her house with 1 month boarding charges was the best idea. So, the same evening I went back to her house and left them at her house. We were really sad. On July 20, 2019 I moved to a new community which is very dog friendly and allowed Siberian Huskies and it was time to pick Sharvara and Aaira. I was very excited but scared at the same time because when I brought them to that stupid community, they pissed and pooped everywhere in the house. I was surprised to see they didn't poop/piss inside the house. Guess what? ASHLEY TRAINED THEM TOO in that 1 month (She could have chosen not to train them, but she did! she cares) Thank You Ashley We love you!
