If I could rate this establishment a zero I would I have. where do I even start.... So I have curly hair it's very thick and long. I went asked Sandra if she could do a certain color on my head. She told me she would have to bleach my whole head which I did not want. So instead she told me she could do highlights of the color I want. I thought about it and went ahead with it. While she was doing my hair continued to stop and start on other customers hair. I feel like no one was watching to see how my hair would take to the bleach. She also told me that the color I chose was going to look great... which was a lie. When she finished my hair it was blonde and yellow in all of the "highlights" she gave me. The highlights didn't even blend into my hair they looked blocky and tacky as hell!!! She seen that I was upset with my results but didn't seem to care because her shop was busy. I proceeded to pay 180 for the service. Which I was hesitant because I thought she would was going to discount me after being late to the appointment! I text her the same night and let know I did not like my hair she said I could go back in to get it one solid color. She did not offer to fix what she messed up didn't even try to ask if I still wanted the look I was going for !!! When I went into fix my hair she had an assistant do one solid black on my hair the lady didn't even rinse the dye all the way out because my whole shirt was stained on the way home from dripping hair dye!!!!!!! Probably why my hair is now falling out!!!! Rude rude rude !!! She also talks about her clients in Spanish in their faces. I do not recommend this shop at alll!!!! IF YOU ARE BLACK OR HAVE THICK HAIR DO NOT COME HERE!!! I ALSO ASKED BEFORE HAND DID SHE KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH MY HAIR, SHE SAID YES WHICH WAS CLEARLY A LIE. I went into this hair salon with super healthy and long hair. I had never dyed my hair. I showed a reference picture of the hair cut and color I wanted and thought that since it was just a simple solid brown she would not mess it up. The lady who was putting the color started at my roots and then the rest of my hair and it wasn't until another hairstylist came and told her it was wrong that she washed it off and restarted. I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE coming here. My hair started to turn red/blond by the second day. She also added three layers to my hair when I specifically told her I just wanted a small trim. My sister also went in for a small trim and her first hair dye ever. We asked for light pink highlights to frame her face and as you can see in the picture the hair was cut ver short (she originally had it up to her waist) and the pink is purple and not well blended. I hope this helps people avoid this place. read more

I told Sandra I wanted to take an inch off because my hair was healthy and I was trying to grow it out. She cut my hair in five minutes and told me she "kept the length but added layers". The layers she cut are choppy and uneven and it's going to take MONTHS to grow my hair out. Overall it was a pretty good experience. Gabriela was professional and quick. She cut my hair then cut and curled my wife's hair. The shop has 5 chairs to cut hair, 2 chairs to wash hair, and 2 chairs to dry hair. The waiting area only sits about 5 people. The ladies in the shop speak English and Spanish. The only thing I didn't like was that they turn you towards the little tv on the wall when they cut your hair. I prefer to look in a mirror while they cut my hair. read more

Usually I am quick to give reviews whether they be good or bad. But I was hesitant on giving a review to this salon because my childhood best friend recommended it. She said her "friend" Sandra had been doing her hair for years. So here we go, 4th of July afternoon. We drive over an hour away to SIT FOR 5 HOURS!!!! I was so frustrated but I could tell my friend felt bad and she was apologizing for Sandra! I told her that it was not a big deal and to not worry. FINALLY, she calls me to her salon chair. I sit down and tell her what I want, I even showed her a picture. She says, "Oh yeah mija! I can do that." I thought - PERFECT! Time to lean back and let her work her magic. The foils were in my hair in less than 10 minutes and she sends me back to my waiting chair. I was thinking wow! that was ridiculously fast! Whatever, 30 minutes go by and nobody has checked my foils another 10 minutes go by and nothing.... I finally tell her that my head feels like it's burning and she send me to her assistant who had the worst hair in the world!!!! - I felt like a kid being pushed towards a monster. She tells her something in Spanish and the lady is like ok. I sit again while Sandra is tending to her other client chatting and chatting away. Meanwhile, my lady is patiently waiting to receive more instruction. I tell her I that I think we need to wash this out of my hair. She agrees, but says hold on. Still waiting... and waiting.... another 10-15 minutes goes by. FINALLY Sandra tells her "WASH HER HAIR!" lady begins washing my hair puts some toner in it and the smell is so strong that she gave me a towel to place over my face. Being that I am 34 years old, it's important to take in mind that I have been doing my hair for YEARS now. This is not my first time at a rodeo folks... Now I'm thinking OMG WTF did I just do by coming here? Again, I try to stay positive wash, wash, scrub, scrub... sit up dries me off and asks me to sit back on the shit chair that I've been on all afternoon!!! Another 20 minutes goes by and her assistant says okay come and sit on this chair I walk over there, look in the mirror and there are CHUNKS missing!!! Yes folks, CHUNKS MISSING ROM MY HAIR!!!!! I wanted to cry!!!! I told the lady (nicely) "oh my god, look there are chunks missing in my hair because you left the bleach on too long. She says, "No mija, you had your hair like that already." WTF!?! My friend walks up and I felt bad yelling at her "friends" so I just sucked it up and was like who cares... it's just hair... it will grow back. Take in mind that I live in Sacramento and I was there only for the 3-day weekend. I didn't want to spend it being mad, crying or being mean to anyone. However, I spent 4th of July in her Salon from 9:30am (when she scheduled my appt) till 3:45pm! I'm not being dramatic! It was horrible, I was unable to do the bar-b-que that I wanted because of the time that it took for me driving all the way there, to sit there for hours and to drive home. But I must let you all know that she may or may not do a good job. This was just my horrible and traumatizing experience. She has NO CONSIDERATION of her clients time! You pay to have her assistants do the job and she chooses her ONE client who she will work on. Everybody else gets sent away but charged as if it were Sandra doing the job. I decided to write because my friend just told me that she went back and that she treated her really poorly and f**ked up her hair. When I say F88ked up her hair? Do I mean F**ked up her hair lol. It literally looks like 1990's chunky brassy highlights are in her hair. It is SOOOO UGLY! Apparently, she called Sandra after two days and told her that she was not happy with the end result and Sandra told her to go back today at 11am. She walks in sits down for 45 minutes and Sandra asks her to come back an hour later....Take in mind that she lives over an hour away (and SANDRA KNOWS THIS). where the hell is she going to go?!?....It so sad because my friend just left and she is flooded in tears!!!! She's sad about the treatment from her "so-called friend" ..... WOW!!!!!! That is so F**king sad!!!!!! Like literally, my friend was her client for over 6 years and to do her dirty like that... TOTALLY deserves my review up here! GO AT YOUR OWN RISK! NEVER EVER EEEEEVER AGAIN! read more

I have been going to Sandra the owner for some years now and boy does she know her colors! I've gone from highlights to red, back to natural brown back to highlights, and all colors looking good every time! She will tell me what will work and what won't. They always say trust your stylist, and with Sandra I do! I let her know what I want and she gets me there. If I have to wait a few months to wash out a color than I do. She won't rip you off. Most stylist will do what you ask for to make a quick buck, not her, she'll be honest so that your hair comes out good. There is also Veronica who I really like too. I absolutely love how she cuts my boys hair. I've been to MANY PLACES ( have paid big bucks at those kids cut places) and NO ONE has ever made me happy with my boys cuts as she does. Some think I'm crazy driving from the IE to El Monte for a simple boys haircut, but I can't have it any other way. I have seen Veronica's color and cuts on my mom and sisters and they always look great! These women know hair and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Don't let the shopping center fool you, this place is great! The price is a FRACTION of what I pay at other salons. Other salons can keep their fancy shmancy salon with their high prices! I decided to download some pictures onto my phone to show the color I wanted, the highlight, and the cut. I did that this past weekend, and wham-o, SUCCESS!!! Sandra and Yanette (sp?) are very kind and very gentle with the hair. You can tell they're doing their best to give the customer what they are asking for, as they asked repeatedly to look at the photos on my phone. My cousin has been going to Sandra for a long time now. I have always loved the way her hair turns out. She has beautiful long wavy hair in ombre right now. She had referred me to Sandra a long time ago but I never got Around to going. Yesterday I finally had it with my hair and decided to chop it all off. Reason being is that it was falling off a lot due to being post partum. Now I realize that cutting off my hair wouldn't make the problem go away, but at least it wouldn't seem like a lot is falling off if I went short. Anyway so I finally went in to see Sandra. To my surprise she wasn't working that day. I decided to risk it and have my hair done by someone I had never heard of. I am glad I did! Her name is Janine and she was great. I asked for an angled and very precise bob and that's what I got. I went in with a photo, and she did exactly what I wanted. I am one of those people that become skeptical when a product or service is too inexpensive, and would rather pay more to ensure "quality". But I have to say I would definitely go back to see Janine. For $22 she washed, cut, and styled my hair. I left her a $10 tip. I think from now one I will go here for cuts not only because I loved her work but also because a more inexpensive service allows you to tip better therein making the stylist happy and making you a preferred client :) Don't underestimated this little salon.
