I've been going to My Le for about 7 years now and never felt like I had to leave a review because they're always so busy, but since COVID is hitting their business hard I totally would like to do my part and support this quality mom and pop shop to help sustain their talents! A friend recommended My Le to me and I never had to find another place when I'm home in LA. The ladies here are super chill and sweet, just really humble and hardworking. All the ladies here are super talented so I don't think you could go wrong! It always feels like coming home and being welcomed by a bunch of aunties that I haven't seen in a while. And they definitely make an effort to remember their customers! I've seen both men, women, kids go here for their haircuts and I can see why. I've been coming here since I was in middle school and that's about 8+ years. I remember coming here for my High School problem to do my hair. They totally did my hair nicely to match my dress. They added some flowers and some colors to my hair after they had curled it. Recently, I came here for a hair cut. The lady who wears glasses and a bit chubby always cuts my hair the way I want it. Every time I come here, she would say Hi and start a conversation with me.By the time our conversation was over, my hair cut was done. A different woman washes my hair, which I forget who they are because it's always random. With washing my hair and cutting it, the total is $18+$2 tip= $20, not bad at all. Compare to other places, I hear washing your hair and getting it cut is about $30+? I'm just glad this place is still here and still running the way they are. note: they do take appointments. Finally went for a hair cut after 9 months. COVID update: (1) Only 3 stylists were working when I went. definitely at less than 25% capacity. (2) If you plan to go later during the day, I'd suggest to call and make sure their hours. I was told they close at 4pm on the Sunday I went. (3) I believe they take appointments now instead just walk in. (there was a posting on the door I glanced at) (4) They asked you to write down your name and phone number for contact tracing, just in case. (5) mask is required just like everywhere else nowadays, no surprise there. :) read more

Let's be real...I have thin, sleek, natural brown hair that's never been dyed, cannot hold a curl unless it's EXTREMELY heated by tools and cannot grow past a certain length. As much as I love keeping up with trends, my hair texture cannot handle it. So I don't really need a fancy hair stylist. I've gone to many places and have paid $30-$100 for the same exact haircut. My hair was starting to get a little bit unmanageable with the splitends and just needed a trim. Called a couple of places and this salon was the most reasonable for shampoo and cut for $20. Honestly really don't like having others shampooing at my hair and normally rush home to wash it after the cut anyway but she said it needed to be washed (I had just washed it that morning). She wasn't very gentle with the shampoo process. Definitely had a lot of makeup removed from her as she was rinsing and a lot more tugging than I was used to. She cut it pretty quickly, blow dry, and cut a little bit more. Yep, it looks exactly the same as all the other places I have gone to. This salon reminds me of the 90s when I used to wait while my mom got her perm done. It's not fancy and they have photos of old hairstyles up.. If I were to give this salon a health code rating like at a restaurant it would be a C. After I got my hair shampooed and was told to have a seat at her chair where she would cut my hair, I noticed her table with all the hair supplied and lotions and potions was covered in hair. I don't know who's hair it is and how many other peoples hair it is. It was just sitting there. When I walked in she was just chilling in a chair waiting for something to happen. So I don't know if it's just the stylist that I had, but cleaning up doesn't seem to be a top priority to her. I went home and washed my hair again anyway. read more

I have been here after quarantine and it wasn't so crowded! But they are very clear and careful when doing with customers. I've been coming here over 14yr now and still keep coming back to get my haircut. When I was still in high school my mom use to come here all time getting her hair done and she would brought me too. I got so use to of coming here, having the same person cut my hair over pass 14yr and just don't go anywhere else. I'm sure there are other very good hair salon in SGV area, but I just don't like other person cutting my hair and didn't know my style. This place hadn't change a bit, keep seeing the same people coming here for hair done and same people work in there. Oh... this place get full of people on the weekends. I'd come here only during lunch time, my work place are not so far away from here (10min drive time). Been coming here for a couple of years now and I'd have to say it's one of the better places I've gone to for haircuts. A place filled with women stylists, it be weird for me to go here right? Nope. I know 3 of the stylists that cut men's hair and they cut it very well. Never had really any complaints here for any of my haircuts. They've all been cut well and they staff here are nice so if you need them to cut it shorter, they will be happy to do it. I come here every 3 weeks or so. The price is either cheaper or on par to other places around the area. I'll definitely be coming here for most if not all of my haircuts. read more

Recommend to get my Asian-cuts here from my sis for My Le (who turns out to be the owner here, I just found that out today), and today I have came back for my 2nd cut (after the first one with cuts +color) for a trim. She's always so cheerful and glad I came back to establish that relationship with this place, always easy to see the same hair stylish b/c she remembers me and know what I wanted; nice, quick and smooth. Definitely will keep coming back whenever I need my Asian-cuts and/or color when I am in LA, CA. I like how it is walk-in service as well, so flexible and appointments isn't required as most places does it, but they do close on Monday (luckily I never pop-in on Monday though so far)! I have been going here for over 10 years. May the owner is very good. She always know what I want and with minimum direction. She can be very fast! My kids started to go with me. They were treated like royalties here! One time, we were here and started to rain. May and her staff walked us out to my car with umbrella! How many hair stylists do that for their customers? I used to pay $40 + $5 tip for my haircuts, and I have really short hair so it grows back within 1 month. Paying $45 each time really wasn't cutting it for me anymore. So I yelped for another place with good reviews and hopefully good prices. I just got back from My Le Beauty Salon. Paid $16 +$4 tips. I like it! The result of the haircut is the same from when I paid $45 each time. All I told her was make my hair shorter, same style. The lady(Tran) also gave me a shampoo wash prior to my haircut, then after the cut she rinsed my hair down again prior to putting products in my hair to style it. You would be surprised, I have paid $35 for a haircut before and they wanted to charge me extra to rinse out my hair. Overall, Quick. Easy. Simple. Inexpensive. I definitely will be going again. The only downside is that the place is kinda dirty so I can't give it 5 stars. 9/21/2011 I went last week again for my second time...I'm starting to think the quality isn't as great as I initially thought. Not the fancy high end salon, but $20 for a haircut and shampoo can't complain. I like coming here because the lady who wash my hair give me a head massage. I usually goes to Tram for my haircut. She's friendly and happy person. I like it when she layers my hair with a scissor and not a razor. She can be busy at time and might work on more than one clients at a time. Not cool sitting with my wet hair waiting for her while she work on another client. Overall this salon is a friendly mom and pop shop that can get pretty loud. read more

DON'T EVER COME HERE TO GET YOUR HAIR CUT! This is a Vietnamese owned and run hair salon so NONE of the ladies speak English very well so unless you are fluent in Vietnamese or Cantonese, STAY AWAY! It's not even about the language barrier, since I'm Chinese and can speak Cantonese fairly well. It's the fact that they don't take anything you say into consideration!! I called ahead to schedule an appointment since I didn't want to wait very long and only needed a trim. They said sure come on in at 2pm and we will help you right away. I got there at 1:50pm and there were two people waiting in front of me WITHOUT appointments and she took them first! I asked them specifically if they had appointments and they said no, they had just walked in about half an hour earlier. I think the only reason they SAY they have appointments available is to get you into the shop and they know you'll wait since you're already there! Whatever, so it wasn't till about 2:30 when I finally assigned to a lady and got into my chair. I had brought a photo of a simple shoulder length cut with light layers in the front and straight in the back. The lady took one quick glance at the photo and said, "ok ok I do for you, no problem." My hair was tied up so she had no idea how I already wear my hair and just sent me straight to the hair washer to get it washed. Then she started snipping away and cutting SHORT layers all over the top and behind my head. Right away I said, "that's too short! What are you doing?" She said "I know how to do, you wait and see, after blow dry, it look good!" This happened several times where I kept asking her what she was doing and that there was WAY too many layers. She kept insisting that it would look good and that she knew what she was doing. OMG I was so pissed! I couldn't actually rip off the sheet and leave either, my hair was only half way cut. By the time she was done cutting, she was pretty irritated that I had the nerve to question her skills - that she threw down her scissors and made one of the other ladies blow dry my hair. Needless to say, it was shorter and uglier than I had expected when my hair was actually dry. It was actually the same hair cut as hers!! It looked like i had a mullet where I had a ton of layers on the top of my head around my face and it thinned out to a sharp V down my back. Basically the hair around my face was so short and layered that if you looked at me from the front, you'd think my hair was at the length of my cheeks but if you looked at me from behind, my hair was like a fox tail down past my shoulders. WTF?! I AM NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! It's been four months since I've been there and my hair still hasn't grown out right! PLEASE STAY AWAY!! read more

Now, even though I have moved to west LA, I still come here to get my hair cut whenever we're visiting grandparents. I always asked for Tran. She always know how to cut my hair the right way. If you are looking for a stylish and trendy haircut steer clear of here. I guess it's okay for a regular layering job but you have to be very specific. Recently I went in to get my hair cut like Jessica Simpson's bob. I even brought a picture of it and showed the stylist. Let me just say I was very disappointed and kind of freaked out by my haircut. It was a few inches shorter than it should have been and the layers were messed up. In fact, she gave me the exact same hairstyle as the one she had. Usually when i go out and get a haircut- i usually end up spending at least $40-60 which is really annoying considering i have short hair and with short hair you have to go get your hair maintained at least every month or two. So entirely sick of that routine, my friend introduced me to My Le beauty salon, and she let me know that most cuts are about $15-$18. When I went in, this place was definitely not what I was used to. It was in a super ghetto area of Rosemead and the salon was a bit run down. But right when i walked in, with no wait, they washed my hair and gave me a fantastic cut and with uncanny speed. All i literally said was - thin out, shorter in the back. No picture, no anything. And it seriously kicked some of the best haircuts i've ever had out of the water. Andddd it all cost me $16. My friend said the same thing too- she had long hair and all she said was trim, side bangs. And hers was just as speedy as my cut and just as fantastic. lesson to be learned?- don't just a book by its cover. Will definitely be coming back again. read more

I am super picky when it comes to hair salons. I haven't found a good place yet and I have lived here for years. Then I decided to try this salon from a friend's recommendation. I had my haircut and was very impressed with the customer service and result. The people there were very friendly. The stylist was respectful in cutting my hair the way I want it and made changes along the way if I didn't like how it was. The result was fabulous and the price was reasonable. One thing though, most workers there do not speak English. But that doesn't matter as long as the end result is good. Next time I would surely try highlights and other types of treatments.
