I finally decided to splurge for myself. Google and Yelp reviews suggested the Lash Lounge was best in Tucson. Their price for the full set ($89 with Selena) seemed reasonable and they were able to set me up with an appointment by the best week. My first impression when I walked in was that the salon was cute and clean. I had to wait about 15 minutes past my appointment time but that wasn't too bad considering their waiting room is comfortable and they offer you water. Selena led me to a private room and I laid on an incredibly soft cot lined with fleece blankets. It was so comfortable that I'm certain people fall asleep during their visits. I know I did. After anchoring my bottom lashes with tape that was almost on my eye balls, the lash application process took about two hours and was for the most part relaxing. However at some points the lash glue would seep into my eyes and sting causing me to tear up like crazy. I asked the technician if that was normal and she mentioned it happens to some people especially during the initial visit because we are just not used to having implements so close to our eyes. Makes sense. The final clean up is removing glue and lashes that inadvertently end up where they don't belong. It was hard to open my eyes at that point having had them closed for a few hours but Selena was efficient. Overall I like my lashes but I think I'm going to go more dramatic for the fill in four weeks.

When I walked in she offered me water and then led me to the private wax room which was warm and scented. The bed was comfortable and lined with wax paper. She provided sanitary wipes and a towel to cover up. Soothing music was playing from her iPhone. Then she left the room to let me undress privately before returning. Elysa had a gentle touch so I barely felt the pulls from the wax. It's a very odd experience to divulge your intimate body to a stranger. Within a few weeks though, it had all disappeared. Meriem is very kind and detail-oriented, which I enjoyed. However, after my second session, it completely faded again within a few weeks. I followed the care instructions fully each time: moisturizing with the ointment she gave me and staying out of the sun. She even went darker the second time - quite dark, as you can see in the photos, but it is all faded now except for just a few brownish-blueish lines. So, while I think Meriem and her studio is very nice, I don't think this was worth the price for me.

Here is why: 2 years ago I had my eyebrows tattooed by a technician in Texas. I needed a touch-up, mainly because I never really liked the end result from the previous technician. So I asked Skin Appeal in Tucson for a referral to a facial tattoo technician and they recommended Julia at Electric Beauty. I made an appointment with Julia and had her re-tattoo my eyebrows and she did a WONDERFUL job! See pic. (If you don't accept the numbing ointment on your eyebrows before the procedure, you will feel tiny scrapes against your skin while the procedure takes place, but its just for an instant & then it goes away quickly). When the procedure was done, she gives you medication and an ointment to put on your eyebrows, and I followed her instructions to a tee. Like I said, I LOVE them. I may go a little thicker next time, but what I have now, I wanted, so the thickness I have now wasn't Julia's idea. Then, today, even though I was apprehensive, I decided to go ahead and have her tattoo my top eye lid, with black liner. The procedure did sting a little, because again, I didn't want to be numbed, but after the procedure was done, I was fine. She said the swelling will be 2 days. I'm excited! and I can't wait to see the final result. I have my re-check and liner touch up on 4-2-22, so Ill update my review after that, with a photo.
