When it was time to do my nails, they started doing UV gel, I asked for them to remove the nail they had applied and just give me a regular manicure. My normal nail place was booked but I was already out and really needed a pedicure and this was the next closest place, so I decided to try it. When you go for a pedicure, you want to relax and have a peaceful experience. Instead, it was pure chaos with a child running around and screaming, an older man screaming and the women yelling at each other. Also, they decided to change the child and he had poo stuck to his butt so they brought him out to clean the poo off his butt using one of the pedicure sinks in front of myself and 2 others in pedicure chairs. This can't be sanitary and stunk up the whole place. It's a shame because the woman did a great job on the pedicure. However, I would stay away from going here! read more

I stopped in Symphony as a walk-in after work today because I was looking for a new nail place, and I could not have been more pleased with my choice. I don't get acrylics, but I didn't want just a run-of-the-mill gel polish either. This was the perfect place to come. They have a wide variety of Asian gel polishes that differ from standard American ones and make for really unique colors. I decided on a gel mani and regular pedi and was immediately taken care of. The pedicure was really nice, including lotion, massage, hot stones, and paraffin wax for the heels. The gel mani was the standout, though. My technician Ren did an amazing job making the color look very pretty, getting even layers, and making even my very short nails shapely and round. She also gave me an amazing shoulder massage as my nails cured. All of this together came out to $70 which was more than worth it in my opinion. We'll, I decided to give this place and try and I was underwhelmed to say the least and I will not be returning. Never again for me. The place is clean but don't go here. If you need additional info, read all the negative reviews (I wish I had). Before I went in, I went to their Facebook to get some ideas and I found a nail design that I really liked. When I arrived the lady asked what color so I showed her the design I wanted and had picked from the business's Facebook. Her reaction TOTALLY threw me off and was low-key offensive. She said it would be super expensive and kept asking if I could afford to pay for that nail style. I asked her what she perceived expensive to be and she said $5 per nail on top of the service for the mani being $35. So the total would have been $85. I decided not the get the nail designs because of her response - of course I had the money to pay for it! $85 for nail designs is standard (at least that's what I pay in Atlanta). Since I was there already and not from Philly, (and not in mood to walk to another salon) I picked a color and got a fill-in. The cost was $60 - typical cost but darn, it wasn't too far off from $85 lol. I also didn't appreciate that the nail tech accidentally put the drill on my finger - ouch! It didn't draw blood (thank goodness) but it hurt. Also, the nail tech had blood on 2 of her fingers. In this day in age, with all the germs and what have not, she needs to put on gloves because exposed bodily fluids can be perceived as dangerous and unsanitary. I found this place randomly because it's near to where I live and I had to say this is the nail salon that I will continue to comeback to. If you just want to get your nails done fast, simple design, no appointment needed and affordable this is the salon for you! You can make an appointment on their website if you like, but I never have a problem with walk-in. Most of the staffs are friendly and all of them did an amazing job on my nail designs and shapes. Their soak off technique is not the best, if your nail condition is not healthy at the moment, I don't think their removal technique gonna do any good for your nails tho. That's being said, with removal, sticker gel manicures only cost me $55, that's quite affordable in my book. Plus, they gave really good shoulders and hands massage at the end. Overall, I would give this place an 8/10! read more

Finally found my salon in Philly! I've now received two great manicures and a great pedicure from the amazing people at Symphony Nails. Joy gave me a gel pedicure that was clean, even, and neat. She took her time to make sure everything looked great, and in addition gave a wonderful massage and scrub. Jessica gave me both manicures pictured below. She also takes her time and makes sure to give everything a once over, making sure it's perfect. Additionally, she gives a wonderful back massage. Their customer service is by far the best I've experienced in the city, and I feel that their prices are more than fair. I will absolutely be coming back to Symphony Nails! read more

I went to synphomy for the third time. I did a design on my head, I went with my favorite color purple. With gel-x in top of that I got chrome, basic color and glitter on top. If people love doing pedicure, guy get a spa pedicure it worth it, there is 10 or 20min massage. The massage is so nice  that one of my friend got a tiny nap. I would give this place a zero star if I could. The lady that did my nails really did not know what she was doing, while she was removing dead skin she kept cutting the skin that had no issues and it left me with small bleed in 3 finger and they hurted the first few days. while she was painting my nails she kept dripping the polish everywhere and I left with some covering the tips of my fingers, which I didn't notice until was examining them in my car. Additionally the polish distribution is uneven, where I can see missed spots on the sides of some nails and an air bubble in another. I am pretty unhappy with how they turned out especially considering how much I paid. I don't mind spending money, just make it worth it and not over charge. I do not recommend coming here for a $50 gel that not worth spending. Also I want you to know that when you pay they always ask you if you want to pay card or cash first before giving you the price, so they charge more if you pay with card to avoid paying fees to the card company and avoid taxes. read more

They clearly said in Chinese that she does not have a license and the city worker came in to check and now they have to deal with consequences. And even in private dm the owner told me she was have a temporary license which if you don't know you can't do acrylics with a temporary license. You can only do manicures with the temporary license to practice. They continue to lie so they don't look bad. I never had to write a review bad and forth like this. read more

I usually get my biweekly pedicure in my hometown. I was in Philly for business and stopped in Symphony with my colleagues for mani/pedis. The staff was very kind, they have a great selection of colors and techniques, and you get a lot of services for the price of a basic pedicure (including foot massage, hot stone leg massage, and a shoulder massage while your polish dries). We opted for regular polish as we had time to burn and wanted the shoulder massage. All that said, my feet looked more like I had a polish change and not a full pedi. I skipped the manicure because there was no use in throwing good money after bad. The shoulder massage lasted less than 5 minutes and felt more like she was dusting lint off my jacket...absolutely no pressure applied. Skip the massage, it's more aggravating than anything. My colleague's mani looked like the nail polish had been thinned out with acetone as it was supposed to be opaque, but it was still transparent even after 2 coats. Bring cash for checkout as the process wasn't very smooth and they ask for tips in cash. Maybe it's a regional thing, but I thought you EARN tips, not insist upon them. I had to go to Target for a foot file to finish the job in my hotel room. Disappointing. read more

Decided to give this place a try for my first Philadelphia nail experience! The place was very clean, it took awhile for me to get seated with someone, but I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't an issue. Anna was my nail technician and she was so gentle and gave an amazing massage! The owner of the shop and another woman worked on my nails, and they paid attention to detail, and were very patient in delivering the best design that they could. I went here a few weeks back for the first time to try and out since it's a few blocks away... my experience was really rushed and I was nicked a few times and bled but I know that can happen anywhere. So I went back again today to give it another try and not only was I nicked again and bled, I left with my nails looking pretty rough (bad cuticles from the cutter, uneven nail polish, etc) I left a tip reflective of my experience and was told to "add more tip" to my credit card receipt. was reccomended this place by my friend, loved my nails at first although they were $80 for acrylic overlay and gel polish- for 2 coats no design which is insane but oh well... but once i started removal 2 weeks later, it is clear they used MMA which is sooo dangerous on nails!!!! after soaking for 20 min they are coming off like gum i am so dissapointed. if you value the health of your nails choose another place please. I tried this place because I wasn't able to get into my new spot and if I could give it 0 stars, I would. To start off, the nail tech cut my fingers several times and kept going over the same spot. I was in so much pain when I left. The check out process is a scam. They have a board behind the front desk with the prices of everything and none of it is accurate. I went in for a refill, the board said $35 but I was charged $75 and still expected to tip. The nail polish isn't great, my nails were not filed correctly, the whole nail isn't even covered. I don't mind paying a lot, but at least make it worth $75 if that's what you're charging. read more

Mina did them to start and when I expressed how unhappy I was somebody else came and I asked them to take them off because they look bad but they basically rushed me out. This nail salon is not worth the time or money. I went this week and got a fill on my nails and a pedicure. The person who did my pedicure must have been brand new because she was very confused about the gel polish that was already on. It took her at least 25 minutes and two consultations just to remove the polish from my toes. During this time she burned and nicked me several times with the grinder. For my nails, my refill took less time with an obviously more experienced technician But when I asked for gel polish she used gel acrylic or material? I'm not exactly sure what she used but she charged $80 for it instead of the usual $35/$40 for a gel refill. I was very surprised when I was finished and was charged $130 for the entire experience. Not only was it time consuming and painful but it was expensive and mediocre quality. As you can see from the picture of the nails, they turned out lumpy with rough edges- definitely not worth the money. read more
