My dip manicure was done very poorly, so I called to ask if I could return the next day to have the nails redone completely. This salon is a diamond in the rough. I've been to all the high end salons where the final bill was shocking. Youngs is friendlier and sincere. Came to get gel mani and spa pedis with my friend and it was very disappointing. Pedicure was terrible, no effort was put into the foot massage and the lady barely scrubbed my feet. Then for manicure I had acrylic tips and before I started my pedicure, I asked if we could start soaking my nails cause I knew it would take a long time but they did not want to. Instead, we waited until it was time to get the manicure and I ended up sitting there doing nothing for 35-40 minutes. My nails were still not soaked off when my friend was done an hour later. When I wanted to leave and said forget the manicure, one of the ladies then took out their nail drill to remove it. They still ended up charging me and did a terrible job removing the acrylic nails. read more

Knock on wood, I haven't had a single bad experience at this salon. This is despite having had my nails done by three different manicurists. I was truly impressed by all three. I've been here a few times. I was there today. While the woman was clipping my toenails she also clipped the skin on my toe. No one in the salon knew anything about first aid. After I stopped the bleeding, they were going to have another technician do my nails which would have been a 20 minute wait. I advised all they had to do at this point was paint my toes. They did not. I also advised that I would not pay for it. If they wanted to keep me as a customer, they would have done whatever it took to take care of me, but did not. Another technician who was just sitting around, didn't even offer to paint my toes. In order to keep me a customer they should have at least given me a gift certificate for next. Went in for a pedicure. I wanted a regenerative pedi. Chose the "organic" option. Tech used a compound that Burned my right foot. Hours later, it still is burning. The manager got very defensive on me about it, and lacked concern about my pain. Actually she gas lit me, only to walk it back when after 15 minutes I was still feeling pain. Also told repeatedly that no one else has reactions to the harsh chemical used to "exfoliate". I went years ago and had a great pedi. Years ago that tech Took Her Time. Instead of relying on chemicals to do the job, she used elbow grease. This time, I was not charged however and I did tip the tech. read more

The ambiance at Young's Nail Salon is better than any I've ever been to. The prices are reasonable, especially if you're aiming for their Monday-Wednesday $25 mani-pedi. The salon is clean, and I saw them disinfect their tools. They have a huge selection of OPI and Essie colors, though my pedicure chipped earlier than it usually does. I had a wonderful paraffin manicure, and the polish made it a little over a week before finally showing wear. They asked if I was in a hurry, or if I had some extra time. I told them I wasn't in much of a hurry, but did look at the clock, so they had a technician do the manicure while kneeling next to me at the pedicure chair, which was very considerate of them (I was in a little bit of a hurry). All in all, very kind people, and good service. I'd definitely come back for a manicure, though I might keep looking for my perfect pedi. read more

I called to speak with the owner/manager and conveniently no one was available. The woman that I did speak with clearly knew who I was because she was able to find my receipt rather quickly and was very defensive. In short... I explained that I never tipped the nail tech (I even zeroed out the tip section) instead of apologizing she asked if I was sure . I love coming here year after another. Everyone is so friendly, detail oriented and just knows how to take care of your nails. I always leave feeling so pretty because of my bomb ass nails. ;) If you are looking to get your nails done, this is the best spot in Philly. The color selection is huge, hospitality level is so high it's incomparable to any others in area (complimentary shoulder massage while your nails are drying, say what?!) and the shop is just kept so clean. I really wanted to like them and they were all really sweet. I just moved to philly and grace did a pretty good job on my nails. I had one broken middle finger which she replaced. Normally I can go about 3 weeks with a gel fill which is fine for me a gel fill ended up costing me 67 dollars almost 90 with a tip which is kind of absurd. However, yesterday my nail popped off after me glueing it back 3 times and it was green. I have a fungus under the only nail that they had replaced at youngs nails. I will not be going back here and will need a brand new set as I cracked them all off as I am afraid of the infection spreading. read more

HORRIBLE. The worst nail salon I have been to. I called for a last minute appointment and said that I would come if and only if I could be out of there in 90 minutes. I was assured an Hour. Now the women are friendly and some good to chat with but I'm not there for the conversation if I was the rating might be decent. The technician asked what shape, I said natural, slightly rounded and square. She showed me an example and I agreed. My set looked nothing like what we discussed. I actually had to correct her to make 6 nails straight as they were headed in all different directions. They also had different thicknesses and Lengths. She fixed two and I felt so awkward having to show her yet again. At this point I just wanted to get out of there as it was 2 hours, and way past what I agreed upon. My pedicure was done by someone else and was average. If you are going for a pedicure you'll be safe. My total before tip was $120: $35 for the pedicure, $60 for the set, $40 for the gel. What a rip off. Now three days later, every single nail has come off. They look like press ons from the drug store. I just called to speak the manager/owner (who chatted with me the entire visit ). I was informed "she's not here until after 5". So strange, you're there now! The owner answered and when I told her who I was she remembered and told me she will call me back in ten minutes. Here I am ten minutes later, I will be calling for a refund on the set and gel. I feel not only was I scammed but the quality is so awful I can't believe they allowed me to leave. DO NOT GO HERE. I remain faithful To JC FANCY off on 22nd. I couldn't get in with my normal gal and I wish I never tried this place. My nails are ruined. Save your money and your disappointment. read more

I'd leave no stars if I could. This was my first time here, I don't live here. I'm here for work and needed a gel fill in and my toes polish changed. Made an appointment, went in, everything was going good. The girl doing my toes cut a deep piece out of my skin, I bleed for like 15 mins then she put acetone on it and asked does it still hurt? Finishes painting my toes. Get my gel fill in done and didn't really look hard at my nails, thought they looked good and she didn't nick me. So I paid and the lady is like we have atm, use atm for tip. So I'm thinking sure I'll tip the lady that done my gel nails, atm didn't have anything smaller than $20 and then she wouldn't break it for me. So I paid a $20 tip for nails that are different shapes on each finger. I spent DOUBLE what I pay at my place back home at this place and was not pleased with the outcome. My color is pretty and got a nice little hand massage, but other than that very disappointed. Edit: 4 days after get my GEL fill in. It's CHIPPED! Being a girl is entirely too expensive. But sometimes being a girl is entirely the most perfect thing in the world. The paraffin manicure is the only way to beat dry hands in the winter, and this is coming from someone who religiously uses nivea creme (the thick stuff) every night before bed on her hands, feet, and neck to try to dissuade any little wrinkles from showing up before I hit the big 3-0. I really really encourage you to go and get your hands dipped in wax, your shoulders massaged, and your digits painted (my choice: Big Apple Red. yesterday, today, and tomorrow.) All of the ladies that work there are wonderful and nice and will engage you in a conversation about everything and nothing and all that is in between. Seriously not to be missed. read more

This is definitely my favorite nail salon in the city. I stop in for massages and gel manis and pedis frequently. The massages are incredible! I've been to other salons where I paid 20$ for a fifteen minute massage and it felt like nothing!! At Young's they do everything to make you comfortable and work out all the kinks. I even stop in on my lunch break most of the time The girls are all lovely and really care about the clients. There are a ton of nail salons in the city but there are only a few gems. read more

WARNING -- BUYER BEWARE: I bought a gift card for a manicure and pedicure for my friend's birthday and included the tip on the card, with the credit card statement to prove it. I told my friend that the tip was included, but instead of trusting the customer, the lady who rang her up still gave her a hard time about the tip and hassled her for more when she initially offered a reasonable amount. About 45 minutes later left the salon repaired with new polish and nearly cuticle free nails = happy. Slightly offended Young's and heres why: I chipped two nails and wanted a polish change ( on average this costs less that 6.00) A polish change to me = nail color removal, file and buff,new nail color of your choice. A polish change at this nail salon is 8.00 (aka highway nail robbery even for border line RH) it only included a nail polish removal and change, nothing else. I was advised midway through my nail polish removal that to file my nails down would be an additional 2.0. making this the most expensive polish change in the history of polish changes. Insteresing........ So to recap come here for the 13.00 mani and mini massage at the end. They do have a huge selection of colors from both OPI and Essie and this place is very clean, efficient and friendly for the most part. read more

I really enjoyed this place, got a manicure here today. Just walked in off the street after looking up different places here on yelp. Relaxing, curious, and the nail woman didn't talk to much or not at all she made attempts i was just tired and trying to unwind. When they dry your nails at the end they give you a 5-10 minute massage on the neck and back it's wonderful. It only cost me $15 and lasted maybe 30 minutes in total. Would go there again and actually even recommended to a friend on my way home. read more

Can't say enough good things about Young's... I started coming here on a recommendation of a friend when I needed a new place to get my eyebrows waxed. Yes- theyre slightly more expensive than other salons in Center City ($13) - but I am never concerned if they are taking off half my eyebrow by mistake and will gladly pay a few dollars more for that assurance. Until a few weeks ago that was the only service i had done there- and then I recently went for a french manicure and pedicure- once again, they are slightly more expensive than other nail salons- but completely worth the price. Their attention to detail and wanting to please the customer is what impressed me most. For both the french manicure and pedicure- they stopped after one nail and asked if I liked the thickness of the line. They made sure I liked the color pink that was on my nails. They just wanted to make sure I was happy with their results- which in my opinion, most salons dont do anymore. Overall, by far one of the best nail salons in Center City. read more

This is by far the most superior nail salon in center city. Don't been fooled but their unassuming exterior- Young's provides a luxury experience from start to finish. They honor appointment times and I've never had to wait when walking in. The technicians are detail oriented and all of their services include extras that any other salon would up-charge for: exfoliating scrubs, paraffin wax, shoulder massage. The pedicures are on point, gels last until your nails grow out, the chair massage does not disappoint and cleanliness is a top priority. Today a heated pack was placed around my neck while I got my manicure- and I opted for a ten minute neck massage while my polish soaked off- needless to say I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Working in Philly, I have been coming here for years. They were one of the first salons that had gel manicures. The overall experience from hand massages and back massages (while drying) and the friendliness of the ladies are wonderful. They all apply polish well and do not rush you through good/bad (if you are in a rush). Unfortunately, they are on the pricier side. The experience will cost you around $70+. They charge $10 for gel takeoff (which is double what other salons charges if at all). I now only come here when I am attending an event or vacation. I know they will do a good job and the manicure will last. read more

Just went to Youngs for an eyebrow wax and gel manicure. They are my go to salon for eyebrow waxing because they take their time and never leave my eyebrows thin. They take your face shape into consideration and go from there. When visiting other salons, I'm always nervous they will wax too much of my eyebrow off. Today was the first time I got a gel manicure at Youngs and I left very impressed. Just like with eyebrows, they take their time to make sure your nails are perfect. While your nails are drying you get a massage, and the manicure is ended with a brown sugar scrub. I left feeling polished and very relaxed. I had Jamie as my technician and she was very friendly. Quick and efficient! This is a cute little spot in the midst of center city. They caught my attention with $25 pedicure special (Monday-Wednesdays only). I am super particular about my nails, I refuse for anyone to do them and I'm almost as crazy with my toes. However, I was long over due for a pedicure and walking around Philadelphia everyday put my in dire need. With no regrets about coming here, I will be back. The staff is nice and likes to get to know you. Where are you from, do you come here often, ect. They did not try to upsell me at all! Very happy about that because I get extremely annoyed when that happens. My pedicure was just around 30-40 minutes. I was seated right away. They use a scrub/lotion before they paint your toes which was nice and they also give you a massage as you dry up. The only thing they can work on is how they scrub the bottom of your foot. But again, I'm extremely picky. Its def a great deal! I would only go back for that deal and nothing else. I don't think its worth more than 25 bucks. read more

I have had pedi/manis at a lot of places, but my feet never felt so good as when I walked home from Young's Nail Salon. Literally, it felt as though I was walking on air or something. I am not certain if the fantastic foot feeling came from the hot stones and towels that were used during the pedi or from Jojo's wonderful hands. Either way, the extra $10 to pay for the stones was well worth it. I can't wait to go again. The location is convenient. The staff is really attentive (in addition to Jojo doing my pedi, I interacted with Meeta doing my nails, a very professional hostess who promptly got me into a chair with lots of hot water as I requested, and Sara who worked at the station next to where I was seated). They were willing to stay late to accommodate my late and unscheduled arrival. They also did both pedi and mani at the same time, which I like because it saves me time. They sell flipflops so if you do a spur of the moment pedi/mani as I did, you -- and your feet -- are covered. read more
