I took my husband here for our anniversary, we chose to do a relaxing event. We both really enjoyed the whole experience. It was pretty quiet when we came (Sunday around 2:30). We purchased a groupon for 2 headspas for 75 minutes. They first analyze your hair follicles and recommend ways to prevent dandruff and oily scalps. Afterwords they take you to your room where they deep clean your scalp. We chose to include a massage with our experience which was a nice added bonus. When you're all done your hair is blow dried with products to enhance its health. What stood out to me the most was the clean rooms, clean floor ways and how my tech gently blow dried and brushed my hair (I have thick long hair). It made me feel extra cared for. The last spa I went to, did not want to brush my hair, nor was the experience relaxing. Definitely one of my top favorite spots! Will come back again. read more

I agree with the other 3 star review here. It's okay, but not anything special. Parking; Came at 530pm on a Saturday and had to park on the curb at Tierra Mia because the lot was full. Noise/Vibe: SOOOO incredibily noisy. I came in a minute before my appointment and the workers were frantic, running around and speaking anxiously and it wasn't a huge deal, no one was rushing them and they were still checking out the previous appointment. Then they asked me if I wanted to buy a gift card for a couple hundred dollars (it was my first time there???). Also tried to upsell while I was on the table and again at check out. This was the biggest thing. The whole point is to relax and even when I was in the room I still heard the customers and staff talk so loudly. Other places I've been to always have quiet signs and the staff also speak softly. The facialist was slamming boxes in the room and also had to refill the water twice (never had that happen ever) Facial: Was okay. Average products. She used a suction thing and rather than drag it on my face she tapped it and pulled at my skin. She also caught my nose ring after I told her I had one and she was like "oh it hurts?" and I was like yeah when I have something pull it hurts. She did do extractions which was nice but said the time would come off my massage, which I did appreciate about the communication. If I needed an "emergency" facial, maybe. The receptionist, Nancy, was so warm and friendly, which set the tone for the whole visit. Found this place on Groupon and must say the experience was wonderful! My mom and I went for an advanced scalp treatment. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and checked in. The lobby smelled soooo good. They had refreshments while we waited and were given little baggies to store our jewelry in as it needed to be removed for the service. First thing done is a close up look at scalp health. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable; asking questions and giving advice. Once that was done we were led to the room where we changed into the provided robes. The room was dimly lit, smelled good and had nice soft spa music; overall a ver relaxing environment. The water temperature was perfect and the hair washing was very enjoyable. Great pressure and very very thorough. They used a variety of products which smelled divine! Also received a neck, shoulders and arms massage and it was also done very well. I've gotten plenty of massages and spa services but I must say this must be the MOST relaxing experience I've had. I was looking for a head spa for my friend and I and came upon this place on Groupon. Out of all the options, this place looked the most aesthetically pleasing. It was clean and modern. I called to make an appointment and they were very accommodating. I got the 90 minutes head spa and mini facial. Before the spa, they asked us to sit in front of this machine which analyzed our face and then our scalp. We received a "skin age" and areas where we needed to give more attention to. The scalp analysis let us know if we have dry or greasy scalp. The head spa experience itself kind of depends on your person since mine had sharp nails and at some points her scratching my head kind of hurt while my friend's person was fine. Though the "rainbow" hose, the ring that goes around your head and water falls out it, yeah that one, though it was gentle and relaxing, I felt like they used it on us for about 20 minutes and left the room. I wished the facial involved more tools like the a cooling cyro globe, gua sha, or facial roller. It was just a simple facial massage, cleanser, a mask and sunscreen. As my Christmas gift to myself, I bought the 75 min advanced scalp therapy treatment via Groupon. I was a little nervous at first because as a mixed woman with curls, there's not a lot of people who know how to handle our hair. However, I've been trying to grow my hair past my shoulders (and failing) for the past few months and I figured doing a scalp analysis would give me some more insight. I booked an appointment for 1pm on the same day and was taken back immediately. They did the scalp analysis first and I was horrified! As someone who has always had dry hair, I figured my scalp would be the same. What I saw was completely different and she explained how my scalp was oily because of all the different products I was using and it was causing build up (which prevents hair growth). After that, she took me back and then took my soul. No joke. That hair deep cleaning was everything I needed in my life. I almost fell asleep it was so good. The massage? Not so much. I was not a fan of the lotion that was used and I typically go to a masseuse who specializes in deep tissue massages so my preference is a lot different. But my main focus was really the hair treatment, not the massage, so to each their own. Now back to what I said earlier, I have curly hair. So I usually don't like when people blowdry my hair and I initially said no because I was scared, but after she explained how blow drying will help prevent bacteria growing on the follicle I said yes. She meant well but I left looking crazy LOL. They have the dyson air wrap which is nice and works well, but I wish they had a curl diffuser attachment. She was apologetic about the shortcomings of styling, but I mentally prepared for this to happen so it was no biggie. Synergy spa is one of the first headspas I have been to in SGV that offers massages by hand instead of those machines. I was able to get a groupon for my friend and I and we did the 75 min headspa for two. Our appointment was at 1 pm, but they called me to come at 1:15 pm. We were checked in and officially started around 1:40 pm. The experience was FANTASTIC! I have never been to a headspa that provided the perfect pressure for scalp, arms, neck, etc. Coco was my hair girl and she was spectacular!! She knew I needed the pressure since I was pregnant and made sure I was comfortable throughout everything. My friend enjoyed her experience as well because she knocked out and felt super relaxed after. Although we started later than anticipated, I felt that they did not rush to finish us to make it to the next appointment. I think there are only 3 people working on customers, so I am not sure if they get breaks in between. If they are able to provide a great experience without many breaks.. they definitely deserve the recognition! I received a gift certificate for a head neck and shoulder massage along with a "mini facial". Instead, what I received was more their typical treatments (it seems): a scalp review (where I learned I have sensitive skin - keep wearing that cap outside) and a facial skin review. The scalp aspect did include a very thorough scrubbing, washing, and rising - it was definitely relaxing and felt great. It's just that the massage aspect (the reason for the gift certificate) was maybe 5-10 minutes of the 90 minutes I was there. I realized later that night that my neck and shoulders were still sore...needing a massage! The facial aspect was unlike anything I've ever had done and, if I'm being honest, kind of painful. When I spoke up, they stopped and moved on to something else. (And if we believe their computers, my skin was younger looking than my actual age before, and their treatments took an additional year off that. Quite exciting, this computer magic) When I showed up, no one was at the front, and when I looked around, couldn't find anyone. After waiting 15 minutes (and no one responding to "hello?" I called the number on my reminder text, and they suddenly appeared. Everyone here is very nice, however: incredibly friendly folks. When I left, the front desk rep was there and very helpful without upselling other products too much. (I received a ton of samples, so come over if you want anything) It's just...when you show someone your certificate, talk though it, and then get something almost completely different (good as some aspects may be) I'd say I would only visit here if scalp or facial treatments are your need...for a massage (apparently - even from the shoulders up) you'll have to look elsewhere. read more

Everything was very nice and relaxing, I did the duo face and scalp for $168 and I believe I was there for 2 hours. They took closeup video of my scalp to see the pores and any oil buildup or dandruff to determine what products to use. Both services were relaxing and the products used smelled nice. TWO appointments for Head Spa, two different experiences. Overall love it (the head spa)! 1. Appointment for LUXURY HEAD SPA: Arrived & it was super busy. I had to wait 10-15 mins BEFORE I was actually serviced in the beginning and WAIT AGAIN at the end (waiting to blow dry and post-scalp analysis) but the aesthetician was great. 2. Appointment for ADVANCED HEAD SPA (did call and was told okay to add on a mini facial): Empty. Apparently there was a staff emergency so short staffed, but upon arrival no one was there except another customer who had same time appointment and been there 15 mins prior. After some phone calls we were taken care of. The staff were very apologetic but still an hour behind. Annette, who I'm sure was helping since the AM making my appointment to answering phones and then filling in and finally actually assisting me did make the whole experience worth it. She did mention due to time crunch and delay wouldn't be able to do the facial but did end up including a quick face wash and lotion for free. Again overall HEAD SPA WORTH IT. The experience before and after the head spa makes me take away 1 star. Actually looking forward to their advanced facial as I got their promo package. read more

tl;dr: I've been to 5 other head spa places in Los Angeles (mostly 626) and Synergy Spa is just OK. Not to sound mean, but they aren't as luxurious and thorough as some; nor are they unique (ie. having their own special blend of TCM herbs for hair wash or something). Why I didn't love it: - The aesthecian WASHED OFF my sheet mask?! After letting it sit on my face for 15 minutes, she takes the sheet mask off and then wipes off all the serum with a soaking wet towel multiple times. - They used an Innisfree sheet mask. Not the best, but also not the worst. - I didn't like the alcohol based toner they used. My forehead broke out immediately after the treatment ): - The shoulder massage is more of a full arm massage and minimal shoulder. It felt like she was gently touching or moving her hands along my arms but not really massaging. The scalp massage was nice though - After my scalp treatment, they went in with the microscope again and it didn't look like they cleaned my scalp squeaky clean. But they kept insisting it was clean... - The temperature of the water was a little too hot, but they never asked me if it was OK or not - When she was washing my hair, I kept feeling like she didn't have good control of my neck and that she was missing spots - I didn't like that they put hair spray at the end after blow drying my hair What I liked about it: - The workers here are really nice and friendly. They asked if I was interested in purchasing their products and if I wanted to tip, but they weren't pushy at all. I bought a Groupon so I tipped of course. - Their products smell really nice - The scalp massage was pretty comfortable and I like that they focus on acupressure points My overall experience: I came for a 90 minute luxury head spa treatment with massage on neck, shoulders, and head and scalp + mini-facial. I called to book for a next day appointment but they were all full for the whole weekend so I came the weekend after. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment. They have a parking lot with free parking and a gender neutral restroom. I was escorted immediately inside and they start with a facial AI scan and then look at your scalp with the microscope tool. The lady who went over my AI scan was VERY ambiguous. She just went over each page and said, "and this is your dark circles, and this is your blackheads, and this is your UV damage..." but I didn't learn a single thing - like is it better than average? worse than average? anything I need to take note of? Afterwards, I'm led into the spa room where you change into their gown. For the treatment, they start with softly banging a gong by your ears, aromatherapy (rubbing their hands over your nose), and then they jump right into a scalp massage. They do 2 rounds of shampoo and rinse, followed by a full 10 minutes of headspa waterfall, and some more scalp massage. For the mini facial, they use a gentle non-foaming cleanser, alcohol based toner, Innisfree sheet mask, face lotion, eye cream, and SPF. While the sheet mask is on your face, they do a full arm massage. Sadly, to me, there's just better scalp treatment spas in the area and I don't see how Synergy rises above the competition. read more

I originally found this place on Groupon and I came in to get a scalp cleaning.. which was really great. After my treatment, I purchased a three pack deal for a massage, facial and scalp cleaning. I had my facial today and oh my gosh, it might be the best facial I've ever had. My skin looks amazing and I am so thrilled with the results. I also brought in my teenage son for a facial and they did a great job extracting and cleaning his pores. As a bday gift for my friend I booked us a head spa appointment. I found them on groupon and got the 90 min luxury head spa for two with neck, shoulder, head and scalp + mini facial. In total it was around $137 so per person it would be around $68! Upon arriving I signed in and didn't wait long until we started. They first analyze your scalp and face, pin pointed the "issues" that we had and how they would help us improve them. The issues I had was that my scalp was oily and there was some redness from irritation. Once that's done, they showed us our room where we can settle down and change into towel robes. The music was super calming and I felt so relaxed during the whole experience. They were thorough and would let us know what steps we were doing in our treatments. After we finished they scanned our scalp and viewed the difference. My scalp looked less irritated and had no more redness!
