I had a gift card for The Now and had been excited to use it. I called in to make an appointment because I didn't think I could redeem it online. She let me know that I could use it online and to book there. I wasn't sure why she couldn't book it over the phone, but just let it go and booked online. The day before my massage I got a call and a text asking if I could change my appointment time to 15 minutes earlier. I let them know the day of my appointment that it was fine. When I walked in there were 3-4 people behind the counter. They offered water which was nice but it was room temp/warm. I then had to fill out a long intake form which I wish I could have done online. They handed me an iPad with no base or stand so I was just holding it and typing. I hurriedly finished the intake which is the longest massage intake form I've ever filled out. There was a very awkward introduction to my massage therapist. The whole check in experience felt like it was everyone's first day. The room where the massages are done are shared, similar to a foot massage place. They had an ocean sound playing, but it was so loud that I couldn't hear my therapist when he asked me questions. I could occasionally hear other people talking which snaps you out of the relaxation zone. The actual massage was good. I got The Now, 50 min with added deep tissue. The total with tip was around $185. At that price, I'd rather pay a little more and go to a place that has more amenities and feels more like an experience. When left, they gave me the breakdown of the membership which feels like a timeshare pitch. If you're not a member you're basically overpaying. Even at the member price I don't know if it's worth it. Parking is free with validation, so that was nice. read more

I had the pleasure of checking this place out as a birthday gift from my friend. I was so happy to be able to get this experience as I loved my massage. My therapists' name was Rose and she was amazing. This was my first massage postpartum and it was everything I needed. The facility is clean and beautiful. Definitely has the "aesthetic" vibes. They also have free parking while you're there, but be sure to ask them in advance where the parking is as it could get confusing. Overall, great place for a massage. read more

I have been to the Now one other time in the past at another location and had a good experience, but at this location I had a really GREAT experience and just had to write. It is really clean and the decor is gorgeous and well designed. My therapist was actually amazing, and I get a lot of massages. I felt really welcomed here by the staff and not rushed at all in the space. Came in yesterday for a prenatal massage and let me tell you, The NOW Pasadena knocked everything out of the park. The front desk was welcoming and informative, parking was super easy (literally just park in the lot that has an entrance next door to the store front), and my massage therapist Rachel was professional, kind, and had a wonderful touch. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and usually sensitive to smells and other sensory input, but the vibe was incredible and I consistently felt at ease. I especially appreciated the warm glowing light, amazing smells from the diffusers, and relaxing white noise that played during my massage in the treatment space. The massage table itself was super cozy, with clean pillows and blankets on it, and I felt safe and relaxed the entire time. The way the staff and environment both set the tone made it easy to unwind and lean into the whole experience. Rachel and everyone else made me feel comfortable and the massage took away tons of tension I have been carrying. I legit went home and took a 2 hour nap after the massage, that's how relaxing the whole experience was! This was a surprise birthday gift from my friend. I liked the ambiance and everything looked so uppar. The problem came with the time. My friend paid for 50 mins and it isn't cheap. But we barely got 30-35 max. What happened to the full 50 mins of massage? I would love to come back but the time that they took off...on top of that we tipped. Been needing some relaxing and TLC so my sister and I wanted to check out The NOW. Two deep tissue massages for 80 minutes totaled $370 after tips. Quite pricey in my opinion but overall a good experience. Parking is convenient in a parking garage. The parking structure is shared with an apartment complex and there is a 2 hour parking validation which is a big plus! Parking can be so annoying in Pasadena lol. Upon entering the lobby, it was a nice clean area that smelled of soothing candles/essential oils. The people who checked us in warmly greeted us and gave us water while we waited for our masseuse. When the time came for our massage, I let my masseuse (I forgot her name but she was super nice!) know of any aches and pains I was feeling. My massuese assured me she would check in on the pressure and to let her know of any specific areas I would want her to massage. Before entering the main massage room, she let me know that we have to whisper and be mindful of the other clients getting massages. The main room was a dimly lit room with curtains to separate everyone. There was a very soothing and relaxing audio of ocean waves that made the massage so much more enjoyable. The massage was overall very enjoyable and the ambiance made it all the more relaxing. My massage started a little behind schedule so my massuese was kind enough to extend our session together. The only downside I would say is the price of the service. I felt like the total of $185 per person for a 80 minute massage was quite steep. Long overdue review. I've been coming for years and was so happy that The Now Pasadena opened up after loving the Silverlake location. Absolutely love how convenient it is to book and how they usually have availability last minute. I am not picky about my masseuse and it's mostly because every single one I've had has been solid. The front desk is always friendly and helpful. The space is relaxing, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. There are plenty of spots to relax pre and post massage. The price point is great. I booked a last minute appointment for a 25 minute session. At first I was worried a shorter session wouldn't be enough time for a quality massage but OMG Johnathan proved me wrong. Johnathan was incredibly thorough with check-ins throughout my service to ensure the pressure was adequate while also reminding me to *breathe*. (Clearly, I was due for a massage.) I work for the humane society and we have been working nonstop for the wildfire relief - this business kindly offered our team members a free 25 min. massages. The space is warm and clean. The front staff was kind and welcoming. Before entering the massage my masseuse asked me where I needed to be massage. When entering the place it felt like I was transported to Thailand. Big room with closed off smaller rooms. The sound of waves and warm light gave a great vibe. My massage was wonderful ( too short) LOL it was great! The Now is an overall, positive vibes only experience. A serene and tranquil space distant from the noise of downtown Pasadena. The staff is welcoming, pleasant and courteous. The ambiance is exactly what I anticipated. Quite frankly, the website pictures don't do this place justice. I was greeted with a smile and immediately offered cucumber, water. I walked in rushed because the traffic was bad but luckily 50 minutes later; nothing mattered. It's my second time visiting The Now and I've become a member. Did I mention they validate your parking? the massage quality is hit or miss, really depends on the masseuse. the biggest gripe i have is the fact that the front desk always seems to be training someone. i can rarely check out seamlessly, it's always slowed down by explanations or corrections happening in real time. i understand the need to train new staff, but it consistently affects the efficiency of the checkout process and makes what should be a quick interaction feel unnecessarily long. not something i want to deal with at the end of a calming experience. i've had a membership for years but recently cancelled due to many reasons, one of them being the customer service experience. This was my first time at the Pasadena location (have been to the CDM location before) and my sister and I had a great time. It's located just slightly off the beaten path of old town Pasadena so it can be a little hard to find. I love how simple it is to book everything for yourself and a guest online, including all the add-ons. Everything is easy and transparent as far as pricing goes (although it is somewhat expensive but we were splurging a bit). I went with the Now 50 with hot stone and my sister went with the Now 50 deep tissue with scalp renewal add on. When we arrived, our massage therapists talked with each of us for a few minutes about our needs, preference, and any areas of concern. I felt like they really cared about making the experience personalized. Once they finished, they walked us into the treatment room. Everyone is essentially in one big, dark room with these big canvas sheets separating us for privacy. It's actually much nicer than it sounds and for the most part, I was unbothered by the surroundings because the soothing ocean waves drowned everything out. It's really quite a relaxing experience. Iliana took her time to really work out the knot in my shoulder that had been giving me pain, using the hot stone for targeted pressure. I felt so much relief when we finished I felt like I was in a bit of a dream state. My only recommendation is that they install a water fill up station! It's important to hydrate after a massage and the tiny single-use cups just didn't cut it and are so wasteful. read more

Just went today and had Lauren as my therapist! OMG! Lauren has only been there 2 weeks and is Amazing! She is very nice, friendly and an excellent listener! Asked her to concentrate on my head, neck and shoulders plus my upper back! Fortunately my legs and arms are ok! I could tell Lauren has lots of experience because she touched and massaged points of my head that no other therapist has known to do! Usually, they just slightly massage the parts I requested and move on to the rest of the body. Lauren worked my back, each side of the head; behind my ears and temples! She is Awesome! I have had many massages and this is the 4th one at the Now since I can only come when I'm visiting my daughters! Please request Lauren and get a massage from her! You'll be so happy and content! I have not gone back for a while. But this time, it was painful, I told her to lessen the pressure, but she kept pushing more. I told her no need for my neck but she kept doing that area, to the point she was pushing my neck down right and left. Then when it was done, she just gave me a very hot towel and told me to wipe it myself if needed, then she left. The towel was very hot that I try to use it. My appointment was at 11.45pm today under Judy. Maybe I try again next time with a different therapist. read more
