My wife got a massage here three days ago and it was AWFUL. The massage was not good, the massage therapist didn't listen to anything she said, and was rude. The lady at the front desk was the most rude - she rolled her eyes when we were paying, made racist comments, and was mad when we left a 20% tip. She wanted a 50% tip. The whole spa is insanely unsanitary and gross. They have washing machines in the bathroom! Gross. So unsanitary. Then when it was time to pay , we gave 20 percent tip but the lady forced us to pay more. This is totally unacceptable behaviour. It looks like it's dark but it's not as long as that open sign is on go on in. Last two times I visited I called for a reservation. Yes foot reflexology! in Syosset. This freshly opened foot spa features big reclining chairs. Huge ottomans for your feet to rest upon honestly they are more like beds. First a hot soak with an accompanying neck and shoulder massage boy did that hit the spot. Then relax on your comfy chair as these folks push and massage those tootsies . You will feel the stress of life melt away. I fell asleep the first time agghhh the reflex session felt like 10 min but was really an hour. Next time I stayed awake to enjoy . There is a big chart of pressure points in the vestibule and these people know what they are doing. Place is spotless clean there is nothing shady. I do wish it was a bit dimmer but you are offered a cloth to cover your eyes. 28 dollars for an hour in heaven how could you go wrong! Not accommodating at all. The guy sitting in the front act as if he don't need the business and make the consumers feels he has the upper hand on where else can you go type of vibe. Hate feeling bully into a business relationship. Asked the owner/manager if they take credit cards for bill of $130 and he lied that they dont take cc. I came back for the same services (which were very good again - last week was Anna/Annie this week was jack) however when it came time to pay i gave $8 on $35 of service (a 23% tip) and I was told that the suggested tip amount on an hour of services was $10. I said that I gave between 20-25% tip. The receptionist still kept referring to the paper at the front desk that said the suggested tip amount and after repeating myself several times that I gave 20-25% tip I finally said I gave what I felt comfortable with, thanked her and left. The massages really are great but that really is inappropriate and uncomfortable for staff to ask for a higher tip. Ridiculous business. I went in for a 60 min foot massage. It was so great. I decided to add on a 30 min back massage. I went to pay and was told $45 total. Great!! Massages were wonderful. I quickly pulled out my phone and figured out the tip based on 20% of my total which was $9, so I gave her $10. The girl who did my massage proceeded to count the $ in front of me; and whisper something in their language. They then go "not enough". I was quite confused and they reveal a sign that shows "90 minute service... $15 and up top." WHAT. At this point I was being glared at. I was so incredibly uncomfortable l,gave another $5, more than I cared to. Dont get me wrong, $60 for a 90 min massage including tip is a deal, but how dare a business tell you what you need to tip. I was nearly heartbroken when the "Foot Relaxation Station" over by the RR in Syosset suddenly closed. There were signs posted instructing to look for their relocation at 123 Jackson Avenue, but so much time had passed we gave up hope. Paper covered the windows, no signage, no nothing. My foot-rub partner and I had moved on, more expensive places, fancier places, nicer chair places, further away places, but never quite as good places. Then this past weekend, like a Christmas miracle, the "OPEN" sign was flashing! Two 7:30 foot-rub-appointments later, I am happy to say they're back and better than ever. Very comfy power-recline chairs that go nearly flat and nice wide ottomans. All covered in thick towels with an extra to tuck in nice and cozy. You sit on the ottoman for the first 10 minutes or so, soaking feet in water just on the happy side of too hot. Neck, shoulders, head, EARS, arms and hands first, a good back twist and traction like lift then change position into the recliner, getl tucked in and just try to remain conscience for the rest of the hour. Heaven. My massager asked 2 or 3 times if tension was ok, which I appreciate. The massage was nice and deep and symetrical, which is important -- can't have your left side jealous of your right, having a different experience. $28 for a full hour and worth every cent. $28 is also the price for a body massage, curtained for more privacy bed-booths in the rear of store. We were offered green tea or water and there was a nice tray of candies and candy bars as well. We booked appointments again for the day after tomorrow. They welcome walk-ins but I'm sure its a matter of time that they'll be so busy, reserving is your best bet. We were not offered "frequent flyer" cards which they did in the last incarnation by the RR, I am hoping they change that, but is NOT going to affect my being a frequent customer. First let me say this place is dirty and they do not change the towels or pillows they use for full body massages. They use the same towels for covering for every appointment. Not sanitary. The entire time it did not even feel like a massage but more like a rub down (for $45 what do you expect). I was fine with the massage, it is what you pay for. When it came time to pay though it was extremely uncomfortable because they require a $10 tip for a $30 dollar job.
