Our family happened to stumble upon Sys Carpet business, and we feel so lucky that we did. Sy's carpets are a premium product and very well priced. We work with Sy when we are there shopping as we are completely renovating our home, 4 bedrooms and 1 living room. 2 rooms have the same carpet and the other 3 spaces are different colors, but similar. Sy is very honest in his dealings, takes his time and is never in a rush to get you to buy. The rest of the staff is great and very professional, very clean space, and they really make you feel at home. I definitely recommend Sy's Discount Carpet over the "Big Box" companies or any other carpet establishment for that matter. We also asked Sy for any recommendations with installers, and he gave us a couple and the one we chose quoted a far cheaper price than others that we had spoken too, so he also helped us save money in that space as well. Phenomenal customer service and huge selection of carpeting! I was in need of a very small carpet remnant to put in the back of a closet. Even though he knew I wasn't going to be spending a lot of money, Abe walked me in to their enormous warehouse and matched my carpet swatch with something they had in stock. He then cut the carpet for me and cut me a piece of padding. And he only asked me for $20 which he put into a donation jar. I had been quoted $300 from another carpet place the previous day. I took my own measurements of each stair and landing and went over it with the owner. The installer came to measure the day he was going to pick up the carpet and he said that Sy's sold me Twice as much than I needed!! I called the girl, Sydney that was helping me throughout the process with my order and told her what happened. She put me on hold for a second and said sorry we already cut the carpet. I then asked about the padding and she said oh yeah we can credit back the padding. When the installer came back he had all the padding, she didn't credit me back anything. The installer said they probably did it on purpose since they had the carpet there for a while. Annoyed I said okay. What can I do?! I just think it's rude that they oversold me not to mention, the guy doing the calculations, wasn't very nice or friendly. I'd definitely look for another place to buy carpet next time! I was in the market to replace approximately 1000 sq/ft of carpet. They had a good variety of carpets to choose from. I pick my carpet and padding. Paid for it and was supposed to have it pick up by the installer. The I stalker went to pick it up and they had sold my padding. The lady there said they don't tag padding just carpet and if I didn't want it she could just have the carpet returned or I could pay additional for more expensive padding. I was stressing out as I needed carpet quickly for a back bedroom. The big box stores told me 4-6 weeks. Called Sys they gave me some idea on prices, and emailed me a list of installers. I called a few installers on Wednesday found Sergio who said he could install for me on Friday for a very decent price. Went to Sys on Thursday and they were super friendly and helpful. Found very nice carpet and pad for a great price and this morning Sergio installed the carpet. It looks fantastic ! I cannot recommend them enough. We scheduled our carpet to be changed. And no one showed up or even called that they were not going to show up or be late. We had to move all of furniture ourselves and we've just been waiting outside with al of our stuff. Please I would never recommend this service to anyone. I usually am not one to complain. On Friday morning I arrived at their showroom to find some commercial brand office carpet. I looked around a bit and made my way into their office area where 2 people were working on the computer editing a letter or an email. Neither one acknowledged me. I continued to wait and not interrupt, the woman and man clearly knew I was there, but made no attempt to help me nor even say "Good Morning" or "someone will be right with you". Instead after 15 minutes she picked up the phone and paged for someone to come to the showroom and then continued on staring at the screen and talking as if I wasn't even there. I stood there for a few more minutes and then turned around and headed out the door. What they didn't know is that I work for one of the largest commercial real estate companies in Southern California. (Can you say dumb move?) It's 2016 and it's hard to believe a business owner and their employees could be so daft to not show an ounce of common courtesy or customer service to someone standing there wanting to do business with them.
