    Tofu with Broccoli
    Kate Y.

Ordered for the first time and picked up. Tried: - fresh lime soda: tart and refreshing; you get about 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice and a can of plain seltzer - chicken momo: about 8 tasty steamed chicken dumplings that come with a creamy vinegar sauce - tofu with broccoli sauteed in a white sauce: tasty and comforting (reminds me of a chicken pot pie consistency); for the price, I wish the portion was bigger The menu is big - I'm intrigued by the Hong Kong items, and look forward to trying them.

The restaurant was impeccably I mean, impeccably clean maybe that has something to do with the fact that the point of the owners was in the military we were greeted with a friendly. How are you? I said I'm hungry. He laughed. We were seated quickly menus were presented multiple choices. After some deliberation we settled on the Lamb with red peppers and onions and Indian spices, the biryani goat and the eggplant dish with Indian spices the base of the eggplant was a curry base. After about 10 minutes, the food arrived. My first glance was there's not hardly any food on the table, but the copper bowls that the food was served in were deep. We also ordered the garlic chili naan the biryani goat was absolutely impeccably over the top. The rice was individual kernels. incredible saffron infused with subtle spices, which I was not able to ascertain their origin , but they were harmoniously balanced in taste the goat melted in your mouth. There were a few bones, and of course, I like to eat meat off the bones I was in hog heaven, and then reached for the Lamb, red bell pepper and onion with Indian spices I had asked for medium heat, and thank goodness they gave us yogurt to soothe the small fire in my mouth. The limb was very well seasoned. When you took a bite of the lamb, bell pepper and onion it was a crescendo of all of these spices going off in your mouth and the vegetables had a nice subtle crisp crunch to them. Which even added more texture to the bite, we also had the garlic chili naan which came out hot. It was absolutely spectacular tender, warm, chewy subtle chili spice nice background garlic notes with Mortgage. Could you ask for. As we paid the bill and walked out I turned around and noticed that they had received the best Indian food award in Fresno for 2025 and I must tell you it's the best I've ever had in Fresno if you are a Indian food lover this place is a must my first bite of the food I use the word wow and that's how I judge over the top food. If I don't say well, then it may not bring me back. This will be my favorite Indian place to go to. in Fresno. This review is a wrap.

The chicken was really juicy and flavorful, and they give a generous portion, which is always appreciated. I've also had the Gulab Special before, which includes your choice of a starter, main course, and dessert starting at $23.99. It's a very filling deal and a great value. This is my go-to spot when I'm craving Indian food, and I would highly recommend it. * Street parking

Veda 10 Jay St…read more Tenafly, NJ 07670 Papadum Basket Chicken Tikka Masala Garlic Naan This contemporary Indian restaurant is located in the heart of Tenafly, NJ. A supervisor from my job recommended this location and he was right on point. The interior had a nice ambiance and the dining tables had a uniform set up with attractive tablecloths. It was a relief that a spoon was automatically included with the silverware; most restaurants only provide a fork & knife. Papadum Basket: This complimentary appetizer was an excellent start to the meal. The sabudana papad is a bubble wafer with an appearance identical to styrofoam. The traditional papadum is a flat lentil base crisp that kind of reminds me of a flattened looseleaf. Although the shapes of these wafers have different appearance, their taste is superior. They both have a light, crispy texture. A side of spiced tomato chutney compliments the snack. Because the starter tasted this good, I easily predicted the main course was going to be a home run. Chicken Tikka Masala: Chicken is diced into square cubes and smothered in creamy tomato sauce. The sauce was hot & creamy and the chicken was tender. It is one of the most popular dishes in the restaurant. Also included is a side of basmati rice. While I was eating, I ran out and the server gave me another portion. There was no up charge for the second helping. Do not confuse this plate with their "butter chicken" entrée. Although chicken tikka masala is also referred to as butter chicken, the two entrees on this restaurant are not identical. Butter chicken is served in slices and the sauce is different. I asked a server about the difference between the two plates; he told me he was a new hire and did not know the answer. I truly appreciated his honesty and was grateful he got another waiter to assist me instead of trying to answer it without the proper knowledge. Garlic Naan: The naan is the perfect side dish to order with the chicken. It is great for dipping into the sauce. It still tastes excellent on its own because of its soft texture. The up charge is the same whether you order original or garlic flavor. As a bonus, this Indian restaurant is BYOB. If you did not bring any wine or malt liquor, two wine & spirit shops are located footsteps away on Washington St. and Tenafly Rd. This was a perfect dining experience, from the ambiance of the restaurant to the entire meal. The servers were very efficient and it's definitely a great location for family gatherings, date night, or any other event. #veda #contemporaryindiancuisine #chickentikkamasala #vedatenaflynj

The Spinach Soup was a great opener--smooth, well-seasoned, and full of bright, comforting flavor. Shrimp Balchao was the highlight. Sautéed with ginger, garlic, and tamarind, it delivered a perfect mix of heat, tang, and richness. Bold, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The Garlic Naan came out fresh from the tandoor--soft, lightly charred, and packed with garlic. Ideal for soaking up all the sauces. Mutter Paneer, with tender paneer and green peas in a spiced masala, was creamy and fragrant without feeling too heavy. A classic dish executed really well. Nani's Chicken Curry featured tender chicken simmered in a flavorful blend of spices and onions, with rich, layered flavors that built with each bite. Final Take: A standout lunch with great service and thoughtfully prepared dishes. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. Definitely a spot I'll return to.

But here's the moment that sealed it: we'd had a long morning and asked, somewhat sheepishly, if they could make us chai, which isn't even on the menu. Without missing a beat, they made it. They have some tables outside when it's nice out. They originally asked us to wait as no tables were available but then sat us at the table that was open. There seemed to be confusion but we were glad to be seated quickly as we didn't have reservations. For appetizers we got the spicy spinach and kale chaat which was crunchy, spicy, and flavorful. Also, ordered the tandoori chicken momo which were decent but would have liked them a little more spicy. For entree, I ordered the old Delhi butter chicken with bullet naan. I would say at first I thought it was just okay and that could be from the flavors in my mouth from the appetizer because when I had left over the next day I enjoyed it alot more. My friend ordered the lobster moilee for which the curry part was delicious, flavorful and spicy. Wish they had that coastal Indian curry with chicken. For dessert we got Chandni Chowk Ki Rabadi Jalebi as this was recommended from waitress but I would skip it unless your jalebi lover which I am not. It really sweet and milk reduces that a little bit of it but also milk aspect is confusing as traditionally we don't have that with milk. For a drink, I got mango lassi which was mediocre. My friend got some limeade drink which was sour as expected. This place I believe is byob.

Insofar as the roti resembled the buttery, flaky layers of a white roti, this was a pleasant order. The roti here are made with whole wheat, which made for a grittier texture that felt...healthy, for all the good and bad of that word. But they were sufficiently buttery, which always helps things. And minor quibbles aside, this was still a fantastic vessel to scoop out every last smear of the tikka masala sauce. Clearly, we liked the chicken tikka masala. With a fragrant, velvety sauce and large chunks of tender chicken, after a few bites of this dish, I found myself announcing to the table, "I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like Indian food." The chana masala - our other entree - was a little more muted and tomato-forward, but still fantastic. It feels strange to leave praise for rice, but judging from the sheen at the bottom of our rice dish, I suspect they melted and mixed some butter to it (which, again, no complaints here). Service was chill on a Sunday afternoon. Beyond taking our order and dropping off our food, we weren't bothered during our meal (which is the just-right level of attention I generally want from a place). The space is a little run-down but homey, and there's only street parking, but I've never had trouble finding spots here.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.
