Wow, amazing service. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. The place was clean and airy. Food, top notch quality. Homemade pasta, great wine and desserts!

The ambiance was so pleasant and full of positive vibes. Drinks and the food were also very tasty, high quality. Since we had an appointment for spa massage soon after, we shared the egg sandwich using their homemade "Hokkaido" bread. We really regretted that we went there before the massage... and we wished we could try and eat more dishes since the sandwich was so amazing! The bread was so fluffy just like Japanese breads in Japan! The service was also great.. definitely we will come back next time we visit Mazatlan again!

A must go to when in Mazatlan!!! Everything we ordered was excellent!!! Service was great from beginning to end. They offer indoor & outdoor seating so if heat or humidity is too much to handle then inside with the AC will definitely help. Totem is located 2 blocks from Plaza Machado. Will definitely go back!!!

Gorgeous rooftop spot in a beautiful spot of Mazatlan. Colonial buildings all around and lovely cobble streets . If you're wanting to find a quiet place for brunch, away from the noisy markets and maybe even cruise ship, this is your spot. The walk there was very safe and easy. We got a little turned around but found it quickly thanks to Google maps. We walked in and requested seating on the upstairs patio. Be warned, the stairs are a tad steep and no elevator in sight. The food was delicious - one of the best eggs benedict I've ever had. Their baked goods were fabulous as well. This was quite obviously a favorite brunch spot for locals.

10/10!!! Delicious food. Great options. Everything we ate was phenomenal. Great friendly staff also. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

This was a highlight of our trip to Mazatlan. We relaxed on the rooftop patio sipping a refreshing lemonade. The food was delicious and there is a variety of options. Highly recommend!

I love the ambience! I will certainly come back next time I am in Mazatlán and get a lot more than just a coffee

Dulce de Leche corn hotcakes - if you like things a bit sweet, do order. My partner cleaned his plate.

Met with a big smile when I mentioned our reservation and ushered immediately to the roof, we walked past about 20 folks waiting for tables. Weekends are when El Centro hops, so do make a reservation (BTW, do it on WhatsApp), The place is upscale, and recently beautifully designed. Totem's sunny flower-covered rooftop shaded by beige woven cloth made for an inviting space to spend a rather humid late morning. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating and were the most professionally dressed as we have found anywhere in town. It clearly caters to foodies. Thankfully, Google Translate helped decipher the descriptive and inventive menu; containing regional roots, international hints, a touch of haute cuisine, and culinary school expertise. The experience was quite good, the food was unfortunately a bit disappointing, but since we did not have enough of the menu, I would still recommend going. Now the food - The drink menu covers 2.5 pages and the detailed menu is covered in a single page (cocktails appear to be exceptionally popular in El Centro). A mezcal and hibiscus cocktail with a Taijin rim was tasty, the lemon mojito was tart and refreshing, and my berry and tequila whipped drink felt like an adult smoothie. As I have found in Centro, alcohol portions in restaurant cocktails have been a bit on the light side. The plates coming out were beautifully plated. I noticed the portions and presentations seemed familiar to upscale US brunch spots, eg. 5-6 quarters of small roasted potatoes dusted with chiles and a dollop of rather tasteless mashed black beans. There were two small stainless dishes of sauces on the table but I could not figure out what they were to be used for, as no breads or chips were a part of the meal (not that I expected them). Perhaps they were condiments, but i failed to ask. Food in Mazatlan has been largely disappointing, unfortunately. Totem was one I was greatly looking forward to, hence the reservations. The chicharrones burrito, with its super thin flour tortilla (I love the tender and thin tortillas here), was brimming with crispy pork skin (unlike the chicharrones we find in bags in the US). In this dish they reminded me of scrumptious bits of crispy bacon. In the burrito were also scrambled eggs, avocado, and queso fresco, with a satisfying green sauce. By far, the best dish of the day. The next dish, the dulce de luce hotcakes, were utterly stunning looking, The fluffy corn cakes were stacked three up, utilizing bananas as mortar, and drizzled with that luscious goat's milk caramel and sprinkled with pecans. If you like slightly sweet, which my partner does, you will be in heaven. It was a clean plate club for him. As for my veggie and fruit Nuevo Poke, (I was looking for something light and veggie heavy), it turned out to be overdressed with a bit too many types of foods in it for my liking - watermelon, pineapple, grapes, red onions, roasted sweet potatoes, edamame, mint, avocado in a creamy and slightly sweet dressing topped with sesame seeds. I found it mushy and unappealing, plus I failed to translate the entire ingredient list, as I dislike watermelon. Not enough sweet potatoes, and the chicken I ordered to top it, did not appear. An unfortunate fail. Like many of the more upscale places, the newer restaurants in El Centro are aimed at those looking for quality and invention. Sometimes a hit, sometimes a hit, but more often, just not quite what they aspire to. My expectations are a bit high, but yet there is still value here as the main courses run about $12, and the drinks, are about $8-10. Not as cheap as street food, but for the experience, quite a bargain. Its a lovely place to spend another beautiful day in the picturesque colonial old town of Mazatlan.

I had some of the best grilled vegetables and one of the best omelets at Tótem. The menus are in Spanish and the waitress didn't know English, but that was fine because good ol' google translate worked. This omelet was seriously so good and the grilled vegetables were fresh.

Chilaquiles dish forgot to add the egg it comes separate.

The place was very nice inside. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with recommendations on the food. Their pastries were delicious. I had a match drink and didn't not like it because it still had loose powder in my drink besides that everything was delicious. Everyone was happy with their dish. I would definitely come back here again.

I love this place!! So cute and welcoming. Their menu is extensive and so many great drinks as well as plates. I ordered the rib eye tacos, and I enjoyed every bite. The ingredients were fresh and colorful. I'm a big fan of anything lychee, the warm tea made me so happy and it was comforting. Great music, fun decor, and the staff is one of a kind. On my way out I ordered a passion fruit pastry. I ate it the following morning. My only regret was only buying 1, they were so good that I wish I had one as I write this review. Definitely a gem, worth visiting.

Food was amazing and their portions are very generous. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. The restaurant is very clean and trendy. Food plates look very well put together I ordered chilaquiles with chicharron huevo estrellado with black beans and avocado.

We love this place! Delicious food! Good service! They accept credit cards, definitely if u are visiting Mazatlán u have to come here and try their food! Breakfast are amazing!!! They don't have parking but there is a parking lot two blocks away and they charge 1 dll x hour, and if your are coming with people that doesn't speak Spanish get yourself ready to be their interpreter because this place doesn't have a menu in English which I think is bad, Mazatlán is a very tourist place and a lot of Americans live here or visit this city and I guess they should have menu in English for all this people, it would be good for the business.

Beautiful view if you go upstairs to have your meal. We had the fettuccine, and also the Shawarma, both dishes were awesome.

So our pulmonia driver recommended Cheers, a full service bar that was about 5 minutes away. We gave it a try and within 10 minutes, a live band started playing. The band began playing ranchero like music, not the genre we wanted to hear. However, being the good sport we were, we stayed a good 45 minutes and ordered drinks. All staff were polite, helpful and accommodating. Servers definitely worked the room. There were lots of chairs to choose from, front and back but decided to sit at the very back area of the bar. No offense to the band, but we preferred not too close as we were not feeling the music already, unfortunately. Lesson learned, we should have asked the hostess what kind of music the band was going to play for the evening. How did we miss that. Cheers had tons of tables and chairs to choose from, especially for large groups. There was even a private room. The ambience was perfect, giant TV, good service, basically a good package. We would definitely come back to Cheers if DJ (or band) if hip hop, reggaeton, 70s/80s/90s pop dance were being played. We would even come for Ibiza sounds just so we can get out of resort to chill for the evening. We ended up finishing our night at Gus Gus, half a mile down the street.
