Wil and his team did two bathrooms for us, one in our hallway and another attached to a bedroom. Wil was a pleasure to work with and walked us through each stage despite this being our first major home renovation project. He made some significant changes to the floor plan in one of the bathrooms and terrifically modernized the space. Everything from the initial meeting to the completion of the project went smoothly. Wil listened to our ideas and then created a design that exceeded them. All the while... Keeping our budget and timeline in mind. I can't say enough nice things about Wil. He does most of the work himself (except for laying the countertops & flooring). He doesn't use subcontractors...so you know who is going to be in your house everyday. Best of all... He shows up everyday because he only takes on one job at a time. Our initial design had 1 wall being removed. During the project...we decided to take down a second wall. Wil didn't mind...he made sure it was ok with the architect & down it went. His workmanship is amazing... I had an idea of the kitchen I wanted... But no idea it could look this nice. Wil is also just a genuinely nice person. He's been nice enough to take time to do some small jobs for me. The first was before we even started the kitchen. Our yard is relatively dark....I woke up to signs of an intruder. I called Wil about putting in a motion light. I figured he would say a couple of days...he was seriously over within about an hour. He didn't even charge me for that. What a great guy! I called Wil based on the reviews here on Yelp. From the start we knew he was the right guy. We talked to many, many contractors before we met Wil, none of them seemed right. Wil came to look at our project and was engaged from the start. Instead of just looking at our plans and giving us a quote...he listened, he took the time to understand who we are and what we wanted to the end result to be...beyond what you see on plan drawings. He would keep my style in mind when we'd discuss changes to make sure I didn't stray from what I wanted for my project. I had a clear vision of what I wanted...but I didn't always know if was 'do able'...he helped me think things through and we made good decisions. Originally we had planned for an attic buildout that would create a new office, a closet and a new master bath. Not a small feat. Wil does most of the work himself, which as a homeowner made me feel comfortable knowing who was going to be in my home everyday. The few subs he uses were always very skilled, did top-notch work and were on time. My family (even the dog) have become very comfortable with having Wil in our house. Now our project has evolved into a new kitchen! There were several 'issues' that have come up during the build-out (not on Wil's end), these issues were all based on the engineers layout. Certain measurements were incorrect or other things were not taken into consideration. Wil would always stop and walk me through what he was coming up against, and he'd ask questions like "okay, the plan says to do this...but if you do this...this is what will happen. Is this what you want? What if we did this?" Just by bringing me into the conversation gave me a level of comfort that Wil wasn't just clocking in and clocking out everyday. He was visualizing the project, he cared about the end result and cared about our satisfaction. When we finished we raved how much we loved certain things and he'd say "Man, I'm so happy about that, I was worried...I couldn't read your face". You have to be able to talk to your contractor. you have to have someone you trust, that is willing to be flexible (within reason...don't be a jerk and ask for tons of changes...especially not after the work has been done or, in my opinion, be willing to pay for it) but someone who's excited to take the journey with you and your family. In my opinion...Wil looked at the job and said "wow this is going to be interesting and fun" he takes pride in his work and it shows. If I can figure out how to put before and after photos up I will because he did some amazing work. You will be a lucky person if Wil takes your project...and if he does, be ready to welcome him into your home. Treat him respectfully, have reasonable requests, don't be unrealistic, realize that 'something' always happens and allow him to get it handled...and you won't be sorry! Wil is the best. read more
