finally agreed for Helms to check if the leak is within the newly installed 2nd floor unit or…read moreinside the pre-existing copper line, I will not pay for the test if the leak is within the unit or it has to do with workmanship. Couple of weeks back, Helms technician and service manager came out to test and found the leak within a valve connected to the evap coils. Surprised that this valve was not found leaking previously on many visits when this ac unit was not cooling properly. Helms did order the part and next day replaced the valve and as agreed they didnt charge for this work.and visit. Warranty is 30 days from the date of valave replacement. So far this 2nd floot ac unit is working fine. I will be anxious to see if this ac unit will continue to work ok or not next Summer after being turned off for winter. I do want to applaud Helms in keeping their end of deal and swiftly worked to replace this leaking valve.

I am not sure who said the temp has been at 75 but that is not true. We run n it at 73 religiously. Now it's at 80 maybe 82. Thanks to you all. And my system is old but that has nothing to do with the fact that after your company maintenance on my system...my air immediately decreased in temperature. I am just stating the fact that there was nothing going on with my system when Brandon came out to do maintenance...once Brandon serviced my system the air immediately stopped cooling to a comfortable 73 degrees which I've always had it at since summer of 2025 when your last technician came out to service the system due to lack of sufficient cooling. Your records should show the work that was done last summer and every was fine since then. Just because my system is old does not mean it needs to be replaced. Like I said, the service provided in the past has been excellent...just recently not so much. So Chris, Josh and Brandon, have a great day!

In July 2025 WiFi thermostat stopped working. Screen blank. System shut down. First day they sent Peter to diagnose and repair. Peter could not figure it out. Thought was fixed but after he left system cycled off & on in bursts of 30 seconds to one minute. Next day Peter came back. All he said was electrical problem. Changed circuit breaker for Unico System. Still had problems with system cutting out. On the third day both Peter and Andy came in and worked on it. Said a wire in a duct had burnt out. Replaced. Claimed was all done. After they left whole house fan ran. Could not turn off or cycle fan. Heat & AC worked. Fan stayed on. . Called to call them back. Tried general contact number several times over several days. Voice mail box full. Have Andy's direct line. Called him. Left message. He returned call and said he will arrange time to come over. Dead air. Crickets. . Looked up Unico Systems contractors. Showed three. (Huneycutt not listed anymore). Checked reviews. Decided on Dulin Mechanical Services. Called them. Explained situation. They said they would make appointment and let us know. The next day Dulin technician Brad called and came over. Brad diagnosed. Tested. Determined Unico System wired incorrectly. Got out maintenance manuals and schematics. Took off all wires. Rewired per specs. Checked wires. Turned on all breakers. Now HVAC system working properly. Fan cycles as needed. All good. Did it in 45 minutes on first trip. . My summary. Huneycutt Cooling & Heating. dba Huneycutt Mechanical Inc. Peter is incompetent. Andy lacks sufficient skills to repair Unico Systems now. Cannot recommend.

Instead of standing by their work, they tried to charge me for another repair on the same unresolved problem. Very disappointed -- poor value and no accountability.

The unit is running every 7 and 1/2 minutes night and day. So I sent two emails hoping it would get to a manager but I never got any responses. So I hired another company to fix it. The other company found the thermostat was not displaying the correct temperature and the programming settings were wrong. After filing a BBB complaint, twice DAC told me they would come out and get the thermostat and issue me a refund check. Neither times did they show up. They're also not very good at answering emails or phone messages.
