I dropped off my lawnmower for no start and they estimated one hour or less. If will is less than one hour , they will charge me accordingly. The representative called me back and said took 30 min for them to diagnose which should have been $60 and now they want to charge $120 if I don't have them fix it. Parts were $18 and estimated to charge almost $350 to fix it which will take another 30 min from what she said. After telling them I just wanted to buy the parts and pick it up, they now wanted to charge me a full 1 hour vs 1/2 hour diagnostics. I would not take it back there again, especially for being so unfriendly. When I called back the service guy was very rude and hung up the phone. Unless you buy something from them or , they don't seem very friendly. read more

Two instances in the last 6 months will make me not bring my business back. Brought my mower in the fall. It wouldn't start so I replaced the battery and then it wouldn't go into gear. Beyond me at that point. After a few weeks I was told it needed a battery. That didn't sound right but hey, they're the experts right? They told me it was ready and when I went to pick it up, it wouldn't start. They jumped it, but it wouldn't go into gear. So none of the problems were fixed. They took it back and a few weeks later called and said it was ready. When I went to pick it up, it wouldn't start. They jumped it, but it wouldn't go into gear. Third time's the charm, right? They took it back, weeks later I was called and told it was ready. Picked it up and it was finally working correctly. But I had lost my faith in their mechanics to diagnosis the problem. This time around, I took my pressure washer in because it wouldn't hold pressure. Couple weeks later they called and said it needed a new pump and the estimate was more than the cost of a new pressure washer. Just so happens that the pump was installed in the fall and only had 2 hours on it. So my belief is the mechanic misdiagnosed the machine again, and that they are trying to gouge me for money. I picked up the machine without getting it repaired and will not return. My father in law and I have been bringing small engines to them for 15 years. I don't know what's happened, but I no longer trust them to work on my machines. read more

My husband had purchased a used Toro lawn mower this past spring. The self propelled did not work due to a bad belt. He purchased a new belt and installed but could not get the cable adjustment right.He took it to T&S on 4-28-2023. $100.72 later he got it back. They added a small part and a bolt. It lasted all of one and a half mows. He took it back again on 7-28-2023 and was told the entire self propelled transmission was shot and it would be over $200 to repair. He refused the repair. Did not use the mower through the next few months (dry season, grass was not growing). November 3, 2023, we decided to mow one last time. He removed the transmission parts and belt from the mower to make it roll easier. While doing this, he noticed that the bolts on the cover over the transmission were finger loose. When I started it up it made a loud rattling noise. I stopped it immediately and my husband turned it over to inspect it. He found the bolt holding the blade on to be finger loose. When he called T&S (it took five phone calls to get to Michelle (the manager?) he was told that since HE had REFUSED the repair, THEY were NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TIGHTENING the bolts. Thus... they had released a potentially lethal machine back to us. read more

I brought in a Troy-Bilt tiller 11/05/19 because it wasn't running properly and stalling. I picked it up 12/02/19 and was told that the fuel was bad, replaced it and they adjusted the carburetor and it ran fine. I started it up and it ran. I paid $ 78.55. I was told to then store it during winter w/o fuel. Which I did when I returned home. I ran it until it was out of fuel and stored it in the garage. On or about 09/21 or 22/20, I filled up the tiller with high octane gas and oil mix and started it. It started but refused to stay running when I used the throttle. I returned back to T & S on 09/23/20 and explained the problem and they wanted a $ 50 service fee. I told them that it was never used after picking it up in 12/2020 and it should still be under some kind of work warranty. After debating my cause for about 15 minutes, they reluctantly took it w/o a service fee. On 10/07/20 I received a call from t & S and was told that the carburetor was bad because there was old gas in it, and to have it working properly, it would cost $ 130. I told them that it was stored over winter w/o fuel and that the fuel that was in there was new from the gas station when I filled it and tried to run it. I was again told that the carburetor was bad because of the fuel. I told then that I would pick it up w/o them working on it. When I arrived there to pick it up, I said that I would like to speak with the person who worked on it someone in charge An individual stating he was the manager then spoke to me. He stated that the paperwork he was looking at stated that when they looked at it, that they removed the old fuel and said it was bad because of the smell, The carburetor was bad, even after that they replaced my '"old fuel" with their new fuel. The paperwork stated that I needed a new carburetor and that had to be tuned up when it would be replaced. I advised "manager" that the fuel that was in the tiller when I brought it in September was new and not old, as he claimed. He then stated that the mechanic wrote that it was "bad Fuel" and it wouldn't start because of it. I again told him that the fuel was new when I filled it after running it dry. He again stated that it was old and to get it to run, I would need them to work on it, with the price that I was quoted. I said no thanks and I'll just take it home and go from there. About 2 minutes later, I was told that the "tiller is over there and you can take it" I walked out and picked up the tiller and put it in my vehicle and left After several days I was going to look for a new carburetor to see if I can replace it, so I tried to start it. And wouldn't you believe that it started on the first try. I shut it off and brought it to the flower bed. I started it again and tilled my front bed w/o it stalling and working beautifully. There was nothing wrong with the carburetor, as they claimed.. I believe they just made an adjustment to the carburetor and made it run fine. I used it on 10/10/20 and it started and ran beautifully. T & S tried to rip me off on a part and replacement that wasn't necessary. I would have gladly paid $ 30 for them to tune it up or adjust it, but the $ 130 that wanted, disgusting. Think twice when you bring your equipment there for service. Go to a local lawn equipment repair business instead of T & E. Their shiesty. read more

Had some problems with my weed wacker/trimmer, brought it in to be fixed and within seconds a nice young lady was there to help me with my problem. She ask what was wrong and fiddled with it for a few minutes. and it was fixed. Told me what to do it it happens again and I have had no problems with for months now. I also bought a new filter while I was there and noticed a very large selection of parts for garden power tool needs. They probably have any part that you would need. Based on my experience I diffidently would recommend T & S for small motor needs. read more

I took my Craftsman lawn tractor there for service in October because it wouldn't start, and had been sitting for a while. It was there several days before I called them to find out what was up. (They didn't call me) They told me the wires from the coil were connected backwards (not true. I replaced the magneto (not a coil) myself, and the wires are different lengths and impossible to put on incorrectly. They charged me an hour's labor to vacuum out of a mouse nest that had been built in the engine (that's what you get storing stuff in a shed), then later called me to tell me that someone "had hit the starter with a hammer" and broken the magnets inside. Granted, I bought the tractor used, so I can't vouch for what the previous owner did, but I knew him and he didn't seem like the "beat it with a hammer" type. The kicker was when I got it back - a month and two days later - the receipt said "this thing is a POS." While that might be true, I paid them $500 to get that POS running. I would expect more courteous treatment for spending that much money. Or whatever amount I spent. I also never got calls from them telling me how things were going, and why did it take a month? On the plus side, the staff were very friendly (to my face, at least) and delivered it for free once it was fixed. Regardless, I have three other power tools that need service, and I will NOT be taking them there. read more

Okay place to get parts. But they had my walk-behind mower in for service for several weeks just to replace drive wheels. They charged me almost what I paid for the mower when it was new, and the wheels were assembled poorly. In addition, they removed and lost the sticker that included the mowers part# and serial#. And they assumed no responsibility for any of it. Now just a year after this repair, the wheels have completely fallen apart and the mower needs to be replaced. I also went there once to purchase a small snowblower to complement my large 2 cycle. I found the salesman less helpful than the staff at Home Depot, and their price was $50 higher than HD on the exact same model. Certainly wouldn't use them again. read more

I went to get 3 bolts for my lawn mower. The girl at the desk said they didn't have them in stock so she would have to order them. I said how long would it be before I got them she said 4 days and it would cost $29.00 to get them. I said forget it. I went down the street to Brown's hardware and bought all three for $3.74. I would never go to T & S and would never refer them to anybody. They are a rip off. read more

Thank you Michelle! I originally took my snowblower to T & S Power Equipment back in January 2019 for a tuneup. Used it only a few times that winter, then did everything they said to do for storage. Ran it dry before storing it and then put clean new gas into it this year. But I just couldn't get it started. So I took it back into T & S rather frustrated. Michelle took a few minutes before tagging the snowblower and sprayed "magical starting fluid" into the carburetor and with a couple of pulls it started right up. NO CHARGE! Half a star would truly suffice. I bought a backpack blower here along with the oil supplies to extend the warranty. Blower had carb problems shortly after owning- warranty work done her and fixed. Carb problems came back- just before warranty expired. Took it in, they promptly forgot to work on it for almost two weeks. They only found it after I called looking for it. They admitted to not even touching it. Three hours later,Just as they were about closed for the day, they called and claimed it was done and could be picked up the next day. The service tech, upon pick up, did tell me that running a higher/highest octane fuel would work nicer- so noted and away I went. Picked it up on my last day of vacation, used it for two hours and set it down- it ran and worked for the one time that I got to use it on my two week vacation. Now -days later I get to my next credit card statement and see a $50 T&S charge. They charged me for what should be warranty work, no parts used.....only adjusted the carb and cleaned carb. I called and queried why the charge? The woman told me that I had to learn how to mix gas and they found nothing wrong with the unit. Everything else at my house runs on the same 50/1 gas and I have a special mix gas can and oil bottles to make sure it's always the right mixture. She then told me she didn't know my unit was under warranty. Next she told me she had no way of knowing where I purchased the unit and when. She told me they were busy and bench time costs money and since I was using old fuel, they replaced it with new fuel and now it works- so $50 for fixing it is warranted. I was warned by friends this place was not on the level, but I thought I would give them my hometown fair shot. Hind sight is 20/20. My punishment for not listening is losing $50 to an outfit that will never see another penny from my wallet. I'm done with them and plan on removing that sticker and service collar from my blower, I need no further reminders of being called a liar and cheated out of time and money. This was my experience and I hope you will not go for yours. read more

At the end of Last winter late February my snowblower wouldn't start, found the carburetor was gummed up with old gas. Took it to T&S they rebuilt it for $78.00 no more snow after that so I didn't put any gas in the tank. This December we got snow so I filled the tank with new gas primed it and it started for about 2 seconds wouldn't keep running, so I went back to T& S told them what happened they responded only guaranteed for last season. I told them it didn't have any gas in it until today. Could they at least credit me for what I paid in February there answer was NO unfortunately I needed it to run so I ended up buying a new carburetor installed for $172.00. needless to say I'll never be back read more

So far this year I have purchased a Stihl leaf blower and yesterday a Toro mower from T&S. When I purchased the leaf blower the staff appeared very knowledgeable, but I had already done my research so I knew exactly what I wanted. Not only did T&S fill the blower with gas, they also filled out the registration for the blower but a few days later I received a HAND WRITTEN thank you note in the mail for my business. As a big advocate for customer service this was awesome to me! When I walked in the door yesterday to buy a mower I had not done any research, but was given great advice by the staff and walked out a happy customer. I pick the mower up Friday because not only do the fill it with gas they also fill it with oil, and give it a test run before I can take it home. read more

I've been meaning to add this, keep forgetting; as an addendum to my review of 6/27/14, when I FINALLY got my mower back I went immediately to properties that I was supposed to be mowing and noticed that the great t&s neglected to put the screws back on that hold the top of the mower on and had to mow with it dangling by the starter cord. I'm sure this omission was not caused by rushing to finish the job, since it took 12 days when I was told 3-5. I read another review where the young lady just said "Jerks!" And I can think of many better terms, but let's just go with JERKS! read more

Called this place today and spoke with a women who I told my tire on my lawn mower is flat and I need it fixed right away She in turn said sure we can do that for you bring it in and we will take care of it for you in about 30 minutes. I get there and speak with the most inconsiderate man I have ever spoke too and he said no way can we do that so I tell him I just got off the phone with the lady 20 min ago and she said no problem bring it in and he go's on to say he don't care what she told me that it is not going to happen. I will never do business at this place again and hope none else will either. There is a million and one other places who want and deserve your business so please stay far away from this place. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They're rude and full of it! Gave me an estimate to repair my mower for over $400 (I'm guessing in hopes I would say "Oh, just keep it if it's broken" - cause it's a good mower!) - took my mower home - ordered the parts they claimed would cost over $400 to repair...cost me $28 and 45 minutes - NOT OVER FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. My mower's working thanks to some research and elbow grease and NO THANKS to T&S. Best part - when I refused the repair and told them I was going to come pick up my mower - you know what the jerk on the phone actually said? "Well, I can't guarantee that it'll be put back together." REALLY??? I think they wanted my mower, I think they were hoping I'd leave it behind because when I picked it up - it sure was all cleaned up and shiny...ready for resale??? Jerks. read more

Went into T&S yesterday for the first time with a problem--identify the model number of the Honda engine on my old Simplicity Power Max tractor. The number had been worn off but I did have the model type and serial number. I talked with two people--both very friendly and helpful. The young lady behind the parts counter took my information and in a minute had the information I needed! I had looked on the web for and hour and couldn't find it. I was very impressed and very happy! Highly recommend these guys. They know their stuff and are very nice people. read more

Wow, I was surprised at several recent negative comments about this business. I've personally purchased equipment and had service done at this shop for 20 years. But things can change .... This is a small, neat and organized shop for outdoor machines & service. My current experience was dropping of a 30" lawn tractor for service. It was written up 8/19. On 8/28 I called to get a status (zero calls from them in 10 days). The service dept told me it had a blown engine (err caused by this operator). But the estimator was not in till the next day. Several days past, still no calls from them and then I stopped by on 9/2. Still no written paperwork on the mower. A hurried consult with the man behind the curtain and I was told the new engine and labor would run about $850. While its not worth repairing for a 12 year old machine, the story is they have forgotten to be organized and responsive for their customers. Not going back. Greg Strongsville, OH read more

I purchased a Honda Lawn mower today. The price was the same as Home Depot. Everything else was different and significantly better. They put everything together, and put oil and gas in the lawn mower. They explained and showed me how to start and operate the lawn mower I had purchased. They disposed of my old lawn mower. Finally they registered my warranty with Honda, and they are an authorized Honda service center for warranty and repairs. I had an A+ customer service experience today. Sold me a riding mower and swore they looked it up and down and that it would last me for years. Fast forward one season later and they tell me it needs $1000 in parts that are 'about to go bad'. Mind you this was for residential use only, not commercial. It gets better. I used their pick up service and the first time around they didn't bother showing up and never bothered to call. We called them and they said they couldn't do pick up until almost a week later. Then the guy shows up to the wrong house. Then he calls the wrong number and is irate when he finally gets the right number. When he gets there, he doesn't know how to put the tractor in gear so he winches it onto his truck and tweaks the frame. All told they had the tractor for four weeks, I paid them $150+, and when I got it back, the tires were all deflated, they hadn't bothered to put the side panels back on after they took them off, the seat had additional tears in it, and suddenly the engine was leaking oil, but they had done zero work on the tractor!
