What an amazing store and the people that own it! I did not go to this store to purchase beads. I went to have a neck cord put into a polished boulder opal with a hole drilled through it for such a cord. The gentleman who helped me ( my impression was is was the owner or one if the owners), asked all the right questions and then went confidently around this very large store pulling out boxes that contained the materials he needed. We then went to a work station where he proceeded to do a very delicate and skilled job creating my necklace. When it was all done, I had exactly what I wanted and at what I thought was a very reasonable price! Because I was not buying beads or similar items, I did not go up and down every aisle in the store. But from what I saw, the selection of materials was beyond impressive!! This is the BEST bead store around. Everything is meticulously organized making such a large selection of inventory very easy to navigate. The shop is family owned and operated. They are knowledgeable, helpful and extremely friendly. You really cannot beat the value either. Ugly shop, depressing, though you will find beads here that you won't find anywhere else. However, a lot of the beads seem outdated, like they're from the 70's. Not a pleasant shopping experience despite I was able to get a couple tools I needed. Prices were "okay." read more

I stopped in after driving by many times since I'm in the area. I was the only customer in the store for about ten minutes and it took the full ten minutes to even be acknowledged. The lady running the store seemed rude and and didn't ask if I needed help or to even say hello. Finally a gentleman came from the back and offered help and I made a purchase. The part that made me feel so strongly is that as I was checking out another customer walked in and was greeted by the lady who ignored me completely and I overhead her say it was her first time in the store and explain what she was looking for and the lady in the store helped her immediately. The only difference I could see between that customer and myself is she looked Caucasian and I do not. Coincidence....? I hope that what I am assuming is not the case and that this shop would be welcoming to minorities but my experience here was unpleasant. I won't be returning and hope that the lady running the store would be welcoming to all customers in the future. I would've been a repeat customer and told my friends who also love in the area but unfortunately this is the narrative I have for them instead. read more

Not only do they have more beads than you can shake a stick at (if shaking sticks at beads is your thing), the staff here is SO helpful. They didn't even bat an eye at my renegade toddler doing renegade toddler things. In fact, *I* was the one tsk-tsking under my breath because really, WHO brings a 2.5 year old boy to a bead store!?!? Some people, sheesh. *big eye roll at self* The guy helping me out (sorry, I never caught his name) was really great. He helped my clueless ass find everything I needed and even hooked it up for me right there on a little craft table. Now THAT is above-and-beyond service. I walked out of the place with a perfect, personalized bookmark for a friend (yes, it's more than just jewelery up in there) for less than it would've cost me to buy a pre-made one at store. There are so many nice things I can say about this beach shop. Most of the previous reviewer's have hit the major points. Extensive collection of amazing beads, stones, chains, and jewelry findings. My mom and I literally spent hours in there! I thought another reviewer was a bit ... shall we say "off" (?) when she said she spent hours there. I apologize for that. You can get hypnotized by everything that is available. However the real charm of this store is in the her and her family. What a time and generously spirited set of individuals to be around. You can feel their love of the business and the joy they take in their customers. Walking in was especially wonderful as Women of Color. The standard initial awkwardness that happens as we try to navigate how we will be assisted was absent. We did not feel ignored nor as if we were about to take the "five finger discount" the minute we walked in the door. The fact that this stands out as such a natural, comfortable experience will resonate with those of you for this is an important factor. We left with far more items than we were expecting to buy, but there is no buyers remorse and in fact we are plotting our return. read more

I love this store. Looks small from outside but inside it goes back into another bigger room. They have everything from beads to tools, glue, charms. They have almost 99% of charms I look for. I live close by this store and this was the first time I've been here. The staff was very friendly and polite. I went in to find a replacement gold plated lobster clasp and another piece for my necklace which had faded. The lady helped me find the right clasp and I am very happy with the products I purchased. This is the bead store that I used to make a point of going to every time I was in Idaho Springs. It's definitely more convenient that they are down here, but probably bad for my pocketbook. It's a pretty good place to go to if you plan on making things in bulk, given that everything is cheaper if you buy in larger quantities. They have larger quantities of metal charms and glass beads than anything else, but also have semiprecious stones and some bones, They also carry a fair amount of wire, elastic, and string. If you wanna buy something you must take the entire box down and mark the quantity on a post-it. They do give you little carts to push around, so you don't have to attempt to juggle an armful of boxes. I met the owner the last time I was there and she is extremely friendly and was willing to give me some tips on stringing pearls (even though they offer a stringing class) which was awesome!! I know I'm going to end up here again soon given that I have the "If you give a Moose a Muffin syndrome". * * eg. If you give Mariko some string, she's going to need some beads. When she has the beads she'll remember the really awesome necklace she saw at Pandora that was too long so she'll decide to make a shorter crappier version. This place is incredible! I've checked out most craft stores in Denver and this one has by far the best selection. I'm sooo happy to have found it. I've been in twice and each time the owners have been incredibly helpful. During both visits they spent (literally) hours guiding me through what I might need to create my vision. I must have been kind of a pain because I had little idea or direction but they were so patient. This isn't a huge store, but it's set up almost like a small warehouse in the back... rows and rows of different beads, charms, chains... almost anything you would need to make, well, anything jewelry-related. There is a good selection of beads up front but the best is their charms. Lots of really unique and vintage pieces. They offer crafting classes but also encouraged me to just come in and ask questions if I want. This store will definitely be my go-to from now on. I love it! read more

Incredible selection and knowledgeable staff. I needed to find themed beads to use for a Pinup Rockabilly wedding to use in earrings as bridesmaid gifts. When I asked how many styles they had that would fit for that theme I was pleasantly surprised on how many choices of beads I got to choose from.
