Horrible customer service. Multiple employees (6+) stood around gossiping while we were looking for jewelers. No help. No purchase.

This is a brand new store. Curiously located right next to a TJ Maxx (they're practically the same…read morestore) in a busy strip mall. Now, it was certainly my own mistake for visiting on the Sunday two weeks before Christmas, but this place was an unorganized madhouse! There were probably way more people in the store than a fire marshal would allow. Products all over the floor, strewn about. And again, this is a brand new store... why design the store with seven checkout lanes if you're only going to have four open on one of the busiest shopping days? Gripes aside, it's a decent store with a slightly different selection than your average TJ Maxx and Marshall's. As we got away from the clothing/shoes/accessories, we found the home goods section to be in much better order. We picked up a few nice picture frames for less than $10 each, so I'd call that a win. They also had a great selection of auto accessories, surprisingly. The wait in line was about a half hour... very ridiculous. Anyway, they need more cashiers on duty to handle demand and also dedicated staff to keep stock off the floor.

However, the selection in this store doesn't represent the true Ross experience. There is not as many high quality brands that Ross usually sells at a deep discount. They do carry a lot of cheap, trendy clothing. There is not a wide variety of sizes for women. The designer handbag selection has never been great. They do occasionally have a great shoe selection. It is really hit or miss. The store is usually clean & organized. The prices are usually good if you can find a treasure. However, the next door neighbor, TJ Maxx, usually has a better selection. The Ross stores I have been to in the north are very different than the ones in the south. This isn't it. The buyers for this store are cheating you out of a great Ross experience.

Which they have in the past. the pants didn't fit so when I went back to return or exchange they said no. I never removed the tags and I have the receipt. The receipt clearly states any red tag item is final sale. My tag didn't reflect any red tags. THEY ARE RUDE, the reason I didn't try them on before purchasing was because they were 30min before mall closing and the employees were giving dirty looks. I think twice before even shopping at any H&M now.

There's no denying it's presence in any mall because most teeny boppers, flamboyant gay guys, metrosexuals and even street gangsters flock through their doors as if they were hypnotized by the three character sign. Why not, quality fashion magazine type clothing without the magazine type clothing prices. It's a great start for the average simpleton to get their feet wet in fashion. Now that I've killed the snoot ball shoppers ego. Let's talk about the particular shop. It's a great addition to the Southland Mall Repertoire. The shiny new toy, boasts big open concept shop with tons of clothing options. I like their Divided brand as well, it's actually better fitting for people with a little bit of broader shoulders. Their associates are really nice as well. Busy, busy, busy, constantly recovering so that the shop is as pleasant as ever. The lights are bright, so you can actually see what you would look like in the afternoon sun. And the cashiers are amazing at taking your money in exchange for a piece of paper that says you've purchased that article of clothing. Anyways, I love to shop here. Until michigan invites H&M's big sister ZARA to come out and play. This guy is the next best thing. Thank you H&M! It's always a pleasure to purchase things at your shop.

Their knee-his and stockings are truly one-of-a-kind and I really stock up with their "buy 6, get 3 free" and "buy 3, get 1 free" deals on stockings and knee-his, respectively. I also like their leggings, trouser socks, ballet slippers and jewelry. But when I go into an Avenue, because I know exactly what I'm going in for, I go straight to it and expect to be in and out of there quickly. This almost never happens. The service is extremely slow. I could give them the benefit of the doubt and say okay -- every sale is going to be different depending on the amount of merch someone is purchasing or there could be returns or exchanges which require additional time at the register, but no matter what goes on at a register, no matter what takes place during a transaction, it always seems to take longer than it should. The stores are typically HOT. So, standing in line with your merchandise, your coat (whether you're wearing it or holding it) can be pretty trying. There is an employee there... nice lady, I'm sure. But in the customer service world, she's not the best. For one... she takes the "greet the customer when they come in the door, no matter where you are in the store" thing to heart. She could be way up in the front at the registers, but if you come through the door, she calls out, in the same mono-dead voice, "Hellooooo". Not to mention, she's slower than death. Bring your patience when shopping here!
