We wanted to dine somewhere near Katy Mills so we stumbled on this place after looking on Yelp. I love that they have lunch specials every day instead of just M-F. I had the hot and sour soup, General's chicken, and fried rice. I think it was around $6.45. Soup could have been a little more sour. Chicken and rice portion was huge for a lunch special. Definitely bang for your buck here! I do find it funny how they have the chicken in a shape of a ball... nonetheless, it was pretty decent. Have been going to this Chinese restaurant for over 7 years and it has always been consistent. My wife and I love the noodle dishes and Pad Thai. The kids stick with sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. Prices are very reasonable and the food is very good for Katy. Absolutely amazing food! We have been ordering from this restaurant since it opened along with the H-E-B a few doors down, and I can say it serves absolutely delicious authentic Sichuan delights! The delivery is always fresh and hot and arrives in always under an hour and the delivery people are very kind. Cheap prices for very good food. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review was for one experience I had where the the food took about an hour and a half instead of the 30-40 minutes they told me it would take, therefore I did not leave a tip. I forgot how much I liked this place until my mom suggested we order from here a few days ago. Wow! We ordered the cashew chicken and shrimp which was my favorite. The chicken was so tender and flavorful and the cashews, which I didn't really like added a fantastic flavor. The shrimp were great as well. We also got the salt and pepper shrimp which were amazing! Absolutely amazing! The shrimp were large and pan fried and came on a bed of sautéed peppers and onions. Literally a bed of peppers and onions. We also bought pepper steak and sweet and sour pork which were just okay, in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised by the spring rolls, which came fried. I usually don't order them because in my experience they come in rice paper, but these were just as good as how I know egg rolls to be. I'll be coming back, probably soon lol read more

I had to think long and hard about whether to give five stars or not. We live in Katy and Chinese is our favorite cuisine. We are from England and so used to a different spin on Chinese food and have found it very difficult to find Chinese food we enjoy here. So I will reserve the fifth star for the place that we have not yet found. In the meantime, T-Jin is the best Chinese food we have found in Katy. We nearly always order as takeout (they deliver so always a good option after a few beers). The restaurant itself is soulless like nearly every other strip mall restaurant in the area. But at least they had the decency to get a license to sell beer and wine. What is with all these places that just serve soda? If that's what we wanted, we would have gone to Chuck E. Cheese. So.... To the food... Wonton Soup - excellent. Generous portion of wontons. I order the "bowl" just for myself which is huge (for takeout). I love wonton soup, Hot and Sour soup - the missus has this and loves it. Too much mushroom action for my liking (but I think that's the way it's meant to be). Shrimp with Pepper and Salt - this is the closest thing we have found in Katy to a dish we loved from English Chinese restaurants. Huge prawns, lightly battered with a little oil and plenty of chopped jalapeños, peppers and onions. Generals Chicken - this is excellent and a HUGE amount of chicken. Large balls (no laughing at the back) of meat with a thin batter layer. Not too spicy. Jalapeño beef - I love this dish but it is quite spicy and you WILL remember you had it the next time nature calls. Beef is lean and tender and sauce is reminiscent of black bean sauce back in England. Chicken Lo Mein - our youngest son loves this so we always get him the kids meal which comes with a small spring roll. Tiny bit oily for me but nice nonetheless. Overall very happy with this place as a takeout spot. Would love it even more if they had a better range of non-deep fried appetizers - maybe some smoked chicken, satay chicken/beef, crispy duck with pancakes... And my other favorite that's missing - Singapore rice noodles. I still think there's a huge gap in the market for a high end Chinese restaurant in Katy. Somewhere where you can order a nice bottle of wine and order a few courses without them all arriving at your table at once. T Jin are in my opinion capable but need to take the next step away from $6.95 lunches and Formica tables. My fifth star awaits... read more

I called and placed my order.. They read my order back to me and proceeded to mess up 3 things!!!! Oh and when I called to place my order the lady answered the phone and didn't even say hi and was finishing up with another customer.. So I said "hello"? and then she said "ya?" I feel bad for "cheating" on our regular Chinese restaurant (Fortune Village - it's awesome) but T. Jin's is a lot closer to our house which is nice when you're ordering take-out. We had orange chicken and vegetable lo mein which were both pretty tasty. The orange chicken was huge all-white meat pieces in a yummy and flavorful sauce. The lo mein was a little bland and the noodles were flat like fettuccine which was kind of weird. Usually lo mein means round noodles. The woman at the counter was very sweet and helpful. I did take out for dinner and it was very decent. The chicken with black bean sauce was very nice and still very hot by the time I got back to the hotel. Reasonably priced, the menu has a lunch special and they deliver for free (minimum lunch and dinner orders starting around $10-$12) for free delivery. Two people can share one meal and still have left overs! The service has always been great every time I have been there. The only time I would recommend eating here is lunch time. A plate of food, with a side of either soup or a spring roll comes to about $7.00. The food isn't high quality, but it's decent. I would say that it's the McDonalds of Chinese food. It's not great nor is it terrible. If you are to go, do not dine there with high expectations. It's cheap and often come out quickly. When I came in there was 2 babies in diapers, 8-10 people of indian/muslim descent, and a couple of couples on the sides. I have been here several times now. I must say the service is not very good. There is one waiter who is just rude. When customers come in he points them to tables. He threw straws and the menus on our table. He never smiles nor barely says a word. I have given this place several chances because the food is good, but not worth feeling as if you are a bother.
