The very first time we tried this restaurant we ordered fried rice and the food did not taste anything like fried rice. The rice had lumps of just white rice covered with soy sauce. Despite we had a poor experience with the our meals, we tried to give it a second chance. This time we ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein and Healthy option shrimp with vegetables. Shrimp Lo Mein- The Lo Mein lacked flavor and it wasn't even hot. Because it lacked flavor and it was almost cold, we didn't bother finishing it. We ordered chicken & mushroom that came with a side of fried rice and an eggroll. It was delicious and fresh, however, it was definitely a familiar dish. It tasted exactly like crockpot chicken & mushroom soup. That's why I can't give it a full 5 stars, it lacked any real, authentic flavor. We also ordered the chicken lo-mein and it was also fresh and delicious. It didn't come with any sides. It tasted exactly like lo-mein should. The chicken was very fresh. This is probably the only dish I can recommend at this time. It's good, but it didn't live up to the hype everyone said. I didn't try this place before '2020' so maybe it has changed? Not my favorite. We just relocated to the area and I've been trying out all the Chinese places looking for our new joint, but this was not it. We got an appetizer - crab rangoon, a normal entree - mongolian beef, and a child's plate - sweet and sour chicken, and none of it impressed us. My husband always gets mongolian beef and he was not a fan. He said the taste was off. I assumed (wrongly) that the child's plate would come with a side of rice, but it didn't only a spring roll that was nearing soggy and was flavorless. For the small things we ordered it was almost $25 which seems mighty high for what we got. I much prefer Great Wall in Rosenberg where the portions are generous and the flavor is much better. read more

This review is for delivery - we've never eaten in the restaurant. *Very* fast delivery service. I like that you can get brown rice. Food tasty and plentiful. I wish that the dishes we usually order (sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken) had more veggies, but I'm guessing most people wouldn't mind - the sheer quantity of protein that you get is enormous! The food is surprisingly good despite the fact that it looks like a chain. The portions are generously large and delicious. I had the fried shrimp which was super crispy and came with a tangy sauce. Tasted OK but didn't seem fresh as the outer layer wasn't as soft as I've had at other places, and 'broke' as they were cut in two with a fork. (two stars) The General's Chicken was the better of the two dishes we ordered. Very tender chicken cooked perfectly with not too much breading. Sauce was just spicy enough for my pallet. Cooked with jalapeno and red peppers. (four stars for this one) Beef & Scallops were just OK. Beef was tender and gristle free for the most part. Scallops were a little tough but flavorful. We will likely come again or might even take advantage of their delivery service - if we're in a hurry or just want to stay in for the night. Service was adequate and friendly. We've been huge fans of this place, its conveniently close to home and they deliver. Today the fried rice wasn't fresh. Our fried rice tasted like it'd been reheated multiple times, the shrimp in it didn't taste like shrimp. My wonton soup tasted like soap so I could not finish it. Seriously the best Chinese food in this area! Portions are HUGE (2 people can share 1 entree) and they don't skimp on meat. I get the shrimp lo mein, it's the best. Their egg drop soup is one of the best ones I have had and a large will be enough for a family of 4. Their prices are so extremely reasonable. And when doing delivery, their delivery is super fast and efficient. I have even been here for lunch and their lunch specials are off the chain! Most of the time when I order from T Jin's I get the shrimp fried rice. The rice is always hot and fresh, the shrimp are fairly large and always good, and I can't complain about the portion of rice I recieved for just under ten dollars. I once ordered the orange chicken but wasn't satisfied. Don't get me wrong, the chicken was fresh and all, I just didn't care for the texture and flavor of the sauce. I've tasted my girlfriend's steak & broccoli dish and it was delicious. I've never dined-in, but I always pick up my order, and everytime, the place is clean. The restaurant isn't big at all. For now, the three stars are fair,in my opinion, because I haven't tried too much on their menu. It wouldnt be fair to give four stars, based almost soely on rice and not liking the orange chicken. In my experience, a chinese restaurant that doesn't have great orange chicken, usually isn't a great chinese chinese restaurant. On my next visit I will try some other items and update this review. T. Jin China Diner usually has superb food. Sometimes it seems like maybe their regular cook must be off and the "second string" is trying their best, but the end result is a bit disappointing. But having said that, even at their worst, the food is still better than most higher priced establishments. The wait staff could use a bit of schooling though. We order from T. Jin at least once a week. The portions are enormous (at least two meals' worth per person) and pretty tasty! Egg drop soup is an instant win, lo mein of any variety is a favorite in our home. Let me tell you about the delivery - always, always super speedy. The food is always as hot as if they made it in my house. The people are very friendly and patient when we order, and our order is never wrong. The restaurant is also very clean and a nice environment for dining- but we love the delivery so much we rarely opt for dine-in. Why not 5-stars? The flavors are slightly lacking in almost everything, not enough to go elsewhere ('cause really - where are you going to find *good* chinese in Rosenberg, Texas?) I would not recommend the mongolian beef, and the Orange Chicken and General Tso's chicken are almost identical - neither is super spicy, both have a hint of orange. As stated earlier - beef, chicken or combo lo mein are winners. Our 5 y.o. daughter LOVES the sweet and sour chicken because of the steamed veggies (she's weird) and the chicken is perfectly cooked every time. If you live close by - it's worth a try. if I could leave zero stars I would. This WAS our go-to for takeout but no more. We called in an order for pickup. drove twenty miles to get it. Total was right at $100. We were shorted the entree (the meat for the lettuce wraps)--got lettuce and rice--that's it. Called immediately and proceeded to be argued with by multiple people treating us like morons claiming they were QUITE sure they put the chicken in the bag and trying to explain how lettuce wraps are made, AS IF I am not wise enough to know you get chicken and put it in the lettuce, which is hard to do when there is NO CHICKEN!! I have two degrees, I am able to comprehend the ingredients of a lettuce wrap and whether or not it is in a paper bag. We kept telling them we would drive back the twenty miles for them to make it right but they just kept arguing they were VERY SURE the chicken was in the bag. FORGET IT. We are not very impressed with this place. An employee was quick to seat us and take our drink order. Once drinks were placed on our table, we felt rushed to make a decision to place our dinner order. We ordered pot stickers, General's Chicken and Combination Lo Mein. Our pot stickers arrived in no time. They were tough and not to my liking. The General's Chicken was delivered shortly thereafter. It was lukewarm and we would have liked to have had someone heat it up for us. Our lo mein dish was delivered some time later and it was hot and a bit greasy. The wait staff was so quick to deliver food items to the table, but not a single person took the time to ask if there was anything else that we might need, such as to have one of our dishes reheated or maybe a drink refill, or perhaps we needed serving spoons and plates to eat off of. When our drinks were refilled, I received something completely different from what I had originally ordered. Iced tea replaced my Diet Coke. We were forced to eat our entrees on a small plate that was given to us for the pot stickers and we had no serving spoons in which to spoon our entrees onto our dishes. I was irritated that I was not able to flag down someone to remedy our issues. While they were courteous and appreciative and fast, they were not customer friendly in terms of service. We are officially on the hunt for a quality Chinese place in the area. We may or may not come back to this one. read more
