Even the salad was off, which surprised me. The nuoc mam was really bland and didn't bring anything together. It had lettuce and a lot of deep fried egg noodles and a lot of random other things that didn't go well together. that said, the space is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the owners were genuinely kind and helpful. they went out of their way to help our party of 10 pick dishes they thought we'd enjoy, which i really appreciated. i just left feeling ngán and pretty unsatisfied, which sucks because i had high hopes coming in. i feel bad saying this, but it honestly felt like a waste of money. i hope it was just an off day.

Two years later, and I thought this place would have improved, but it has not unfortunately…read more I came here with three other friends because we all wanted different foods so I thought this place was good because we can all order from different places and so eat together. Unfortunately, the ordering terminals were a hot mess and crowded and many things seem to have been out of stock in the terminals. It was very confusing where to pick up the food and where anything was so that was the first part. Then the second part was my friend ordered Ramen and didn't get it for 45 mins to an hour. He kept checking and the chef kept saying to just wait.... and then finally, the chef admitted he lost the order. The chef said someone must have picked it up but there was no way someone picked it up since we were staring at the window the whole time. It really was unacceptable - they did not handle the situation well - no offer of a refund and they tried to blame my friend for somehow not ordering properly or kept trying to say someone else stole it. Finally, after a big to do, they finally granted my friend the refund. It was not a fun experience at all. The vibe is good and all and it really should be a better place than it really is. I like what they were going for and I appreciate that but they need to be way better organized. The ordering terminals are too few and some are broken and the numbering system makes no sense. Please organize it better.

The person I ordered with was very friendly. I look forward to returning to order its char kuay teow next. I am also very curious about the pork hock rice. I am glad we have a place as such which is abundance in Vancouver. Phone Signal is poor inside because it is partially underground. They have wifi that you could use.

Well played! The…read morefour of us used the waitlist process to get a table and it worked flawlessly. We encountered very friendly staff upon arrival/seating. As mentioned in other reviews, we also experienced a unique and relaxed atmosphere. They had some good local draft options to get started - which is good. We ordered the Bo La Lot Grilled Beed in Betel Leaf for an appetizer and we loved the combination of ingredients and taste. Our brides ordered the Chaca La Vong Wok Seared Tumeric Rockfish and they both enjoyed it. My son ordered the Pad Kee Mao and I went with the Reckless Fried Rice and we both devoured them! Our waitress (her name wasn't on the receipt) was outstanding....super friendly and patient with all of our questions regarding the menu.

The menu is pretty out there but the flavors on everything were excellent. I tried some of my aunts green beans and I can definitely say they were the best Ive ever had. So much flavor for something I'd usually never get as an app. I went with the five spice duck confit, which comes with a duck leg and thigh. Everything was delicious, noodles, bok choy, and the broth was killer. I drained it after I ate everything. Staff was really great and helpful, we had a kid in our party and they had no problem making a spiced up order of their kids noodles. Get the black sesame ice cream, it had a peanut butter flavor and was super creamy and smooth.

We were glad to dine here on a cold, rainy day, as they had noodle soup to warm us up. Sen Noodle Bar is located on a popular street in Ballard, so is easy to find with street parking around. In particular, we dined here after visiting the Nordic Museum, which was a short walk down the street. On a Thursday night, the place wasn't busy, with just a few patrons dining in. My partner ordered the suki talay while I had the coconut turmeric noodle soup with chicken. It didn't take long for our bowls to be out, and everything was solid. My coconut turmeric noodle soup with chicken was flavorful, and liked the bean sprouts for some crunch with the liquid and tender chicken. I also love turmeric, so was glad that this was the base of the dish along with the coconut. Overall, if you're looking for some southeast Asian noodle dishes then Sen Noodle Bar has you covered, along with local taps, appetizers, friendly staff in a fun setting where the string lights shine in every color inside all year round. Solid stuff.

I can only guess they were understaffed when we went. The food here was great! I liked the papaya salad (lots of textures and flavor), the crab noodles (classic simple butter + crab, though admittedly not a TON of crab). The panini dip sandwich was...interesting, tasty, but not really what I was expecting in a Vietnamese restaurant. We tried to order a different chicken dish they were out of before settling for the roast chicken, but the roast chicken was excellent and I'd recommend it! :D Very tender and juicy. I don't think I liked this physical location as much as the other Ba Bars I've been to. It was kind of close to a major street and noisy, and the patio while cute also had bugs :( and the inside was oddly very dark. My favorite is probably the UVillage location :)
