Horrible customer service experience! I made it only four steps into the door when three employees where there, one took lead, but the questions were over my head. I tried twice to explain my visit as my phone is over heating. Jenna who I saw there for three years, left in June was amazing, so the lack, rude, and hurt feeling I left with suck. I needed help and never thought I would feel lacking or out manned but also to only make it four steps? Even worst, a second customer came in behind me and one of the employees hanging around the conversation, took him over to a cubicle and sat him down for the conversation! Excuse me, why wasn't I offered a sit down? Very unhappy with the lack of customer service and support. I will find a new US Cellular location! read more

Being an excellent companion, I agreed to accompany my boyfriend to the US Cellular store bright and early on a Saturday so that he could upgrade his phone. We arrived well before the doors opened, and there was a line. A long one. Count this as one of the dumbest things I've ever waited in line for. Due to the line and prior horror stories told to me by my gent, I was expecting a one-star experience. It ended up not being nearly as bad as I thought. When you come in, the manager/concierge Patrick takes your name and asks you what brings you in. He adds you to a list on a tablet and encourages you to browse or to take a seat, whichever you prefer. Gratefully the store was well-staffed, so the list moved along fairly quickly. People who were paying their bills or buying accessories were able to get into a separate line at the counter. Our name was finally called, and Robert brought us over to his desk. My boyfriend knew what he wanted, so there wasn't a lot of back and forth. He wanted a popular phone that was reasonably priced. Of course, the store didn't have any in stock. On a Saturday morning. At the end of the month when people can redeem rewards points before they expire. They did, of course, have two phones that were twice the price in stock. Capitalism! I asked if they were able to order the phone and how long that would take. After some clickety-clacking Robert saw they did have it in stock at the warehouse, and they could send it to my boyfriend's apartment. All he'd have to do is call in to activate it. My boyfriend was fine with that, so Robert called in to place the order. He shared with us that there was a 26-minute hold. At this point, we'd been there for about 45 minutes. Not terrible, but still pretty long for what should be an easy switchover process. After waiting (and waiting), my boyfriend asked if they had another brand in stock that was essentially the same phone as the one he wanted. They did. He said he'd take that instead. We then found out we still had to wait for Robert to get through so he could authorize the line transfer. Bummer, but at least the man would leave with a phone. After about forty-five minutes of being on hold, the authorization was made and the phone was set up fairly quickly. My boyfriend asked Robert to transfer the contacts/photos/etc. from his old phone to the new one, but of course none of the transfer machines were working. That'd just be silly! Luckily, Robert knew to just set up a Bluetooth transfer (which I'd have recommended if he hadn't), which took forever but allowed us to be on our way. We finally got out of there, and while it ate up our entire morning, we at least dealt with competent, friendly employees. read more

Be ready to wait when you come Madison East USCC. Often have to wait 45-60 minutes. When you finally get to see an agent, they are always very helpful, pleasant, and patient. The employees seem very well trained. One downfall they have, and I have experienced this many times, is that the agent cannot take care of everything at their computer terminal. For some reason they always need to "call-in" some issues to the central office for some far-away person to perform a task for them. That itself wouldn't be bad, except that they are always put on hold for a long uncomfortable period of time. I get an employee discount on my US Cellular bill, and annually I have to prove that I work there. I went to the store and Courtney was able to help me quickly and efficiently. But what I am writing about is what Courtney did that I hadn't expected or asked for. She reviewed our data plan, data use and concluded that we were paying more than we needed to because we were on an old plan and don't use a lot of data. Long story short, I walked out of there with my employee discount AND she modified our plan to reduce our overall bill by $20. I really appreciate that US Cellular, or at least Courtney, is looking out for me. I've been with USC for more than a decade, and will continue this relationship EXACTLY BECAUSE OF THIS LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were in the us cellular store the other day and had a great experience. Kevin took care of us and he is on of the nicest guys you will ever meet! He was very knowledgable and helped us in every way he could. He even saved us 10 dollars to get 5 more gb of data per month. It's a little but irritating that when the company makes changes they don't notify all of there current customers, however we were very pleased to be informed. We have been to other stores in the past but didn't have a great experience. If you live anywhere in Madison I highly recommend going to the east side us cellular store and requesting to work with Kevin! Ps: this guy deserves a raise read more

I was attended to as soon as I stepped in the door, a gentleman helped me with all of the items I wanted to purchase and answered my questions, and a worker even held the door as I walked out! Get ready to wait. On a recent trip on a Thursday at 5:30 I was number 3 on the list. However, I left after an hour of waiting. I have no idea what friggin takes the same customer's over an hour at a cell store or what kind of unmotivated employees were working that day but the wait is unacceptable. I counted at least 2 employees stocking endcaps instead of helping customers. At least 2 workers left customers sitting alone at their terminals for 20 minutes to go do god knows what. And it appeared that one employee, who was helping a couple, left the floor immediately after he spent over an hour with them. To be fair I have had a few good experiences at this location, but overall I must say avoid it. read more

THE BAD NEWS - 2 stars I've been to this store a few times and like most US Cellular stores, it is an unbelievable pain in the butt. You have to wait forever to speak to someone and when you finally get someone, they don't know what they're talking about. I've never had anything but a negative experience with a US Cellular store or with US Cellular for that matter. (No, I'm not a customer. My wife is and cell phones fall under my marital duties. The ONLY reason she is still with US Cellular is because she needs coverage in rural WI.) THE GOOD NEWS - 5 stars The good news is actually great news and it has nothing to do with this particular store but rather the US Cellular kiosk just a short walk away in East Towne Mall. (I was not able to locate the East Towne Mall location in Yelp so I'm writing my ditty here.) I typically try to avoid the mall but I was willing to do anything to avoid a walk-in US Cellular store. I had always heard that the mall stores weren't able to provide all the service of a typical walk-in store. This is false. You can do anything at the kiosk (no phone repair) that can be done at a walk-in store. There was no line. Just two employees who greeted us with gigantic smiles on their faces. Tory and Katie at the East Towne Mall US Cellular store do a fantastic job. Really fantastic. They were extremely friendly and professional and genuinely seemed to care about their job (unlike anyone at any other US Cellular store that I have ever encountered). They actually knew what they were talking about and for the first time ever we walked away with a positive US Cellular experience. My advice is to forgo the nearby US Cellular stores and hit the kiosk at East Towne Mall. Ask for Tory or Katie. They are extremely helpful. First of all, I totally get that their employees operate on commission and it is their job to try to sell upgrades/accessories. However, I do have an issue with the fact that when I declined certain options the person I was working with wouldn't take no for an answer. I wish i could give them a Zero. Do not use there insurance. It is a complete rip off they send you used phones that have work. Then if you complain they make you pay the shipping back. and you have to send your phone in before they send you a new one. It was the biggest pain in the ass to get this solved. US cellular does not care to help you all they say is that its a third party and you have to deal with them. wow us cellular that is redic. 175 $ deductable and then you send me a used phone on top the 8 dollars a month. Do not get the insurance at us cellular. you can by a used phone for the same price as the deductable and that the same you will get from them. a new phone comes out every year so by that time your will have dropped in price. Just terrible service. I had to buy a package, print out a shipping label my self, drive to a fed ex, ship my old phone, wait 3 days for a new one and then have to go back into us cellular to have them reactive it. F this place and there scam of an insurance company third party I would a thought us cellular would have helped me solve my problem read more

My email in one of three accounts wouldn't sync regularly so I took the phone to East Towne US Cellular store. The guy deleted all of my email accounts without asking me. I lost all of my work - draft emails I will NEVER get back, email conference threads, etc. in the middle of a busy day. I didn't have my passwords on me so I went to the East Washington Ave. US Cellular store and asked for help. The manager was in a meeting and when the employee told her I had an emergency, she said I should wait 2 hours until her meeting was over. I called 611, talked to 4 people, and none would give my # to the district manager. My phone still doesn't work, ALL of my accounts are gone, and they just pass the buck. They offer miserable customer service and then make sure the boss doesn't find out.I called the corporate office, and after listening to the hold message about how much they value me as a customer, they said they were too busy to take my call. Nice way to treat customers. Now I just have to decide between suing them or stopping payment so they can sue me. I hear people around here really like Verizon! UPDATE: I have had a call from customer service and then from a Tier 2 rep. tonight. After almost an hour on the phone, the tier 2 rep said it wasn't their fault that I can't get any email on my phone EVEN THOUGH THEIR EMPLOYEE DELETED MY ACCOUNTS today without my permission. Seriously. Although my phone is insured through them, US Cellular won't give me a replacement and says there's nothing more they can do. The corporate office did not return my call at all. The reps are very nice and polite but the manager or the main guy in charge doesn't seem to have a single brain cell in his body. When he came up to me when I walked in to ask what I needed I told him I just needed to return an LG cell phone box (was running an errand for my dad because he was out of town) and I told him the name of the person who might know something about it and he said okay and walked away and proceeded to help other people who had come in after me and get them out of the store while I stood around for over 30 minutes until I had to interrupt this poor rep woman wearing glasses after she got off the phone telling her I just needed to return a phone box for my dad so he wouldn't be charged for it. She was very friendly and immediately helped me and said everything would be taken care of. Of course I forgot I had to run back in and get a physical receipt for my dad because he is insistent on having a hard copy so I had to interrupt another woman when she didn't look like she was doing much while the manager (the man I am assuming is the manager) continued to ignore me while I stood there. The 2nd woman I asked for help with getting a receipt was also very nice and super helpful and managed to find the other lady I spoke to and they got me out of the store with what I needed asap. So giving 3 stars for their wonderful service but as I don't use US Cellular anymore I would be pretty annoyed to go in there if I needed help around noon on any day considering it doesn't seem like the guy in charge knows what the hell he's doing when all hell breaks loose in that place, and I'm removing 2 stars for his shoddy service and for making me wait over a half an hour when he helped other people get out before me who arrived after I did when all I needed was to hand them one item and get out. Props to the woman working underneath a guy who runs around like a chicken with its head cut off while they do all the hard work and make him look bad. read more

Unmotivated reps! I wanted to upgrade my phone last year and the rep talked me out of it! Dropped my phone a few weeks ago, ended up with a green screen. Rep said he could not retrieve any of my information! Took it to another US Cellular location...that actually WANTED my business and they were able to retrieve everything, plus set up my Outlook Express for me. read more

Wow.....waited an 1 1/2 hours and only moved up 2 spots on the list of which there was over 10 people on. I left and will not return to this location again as this is not the first time I have experienced problems with them. There were only 4 associates working when there is at least twice as many customer service stations available. I watched as new customers came in one after another and just walked back out after seeing the full waiting area. When I asked the receptionists when more associates would be coming in ( this was at 11 am) she replied "I'm not sure". When i voiced my concern over the obvious under staffing. She replied with "We are fully staffed." Apparently you also can not make an appointment. Just sit and wait because your time isn't valuable! What poor customer service!!! Not to mention the uncomfortable waiting area with no TV, magazines or area for children. I wish this was my last grip with this place but unfortunately it isn't. I once got a service rep that had no idea of what he was doing and insisted US cellular only had phone plans with data packages ((contrary to what their own pamphlet outlined). I was able to get a manager and straightened it out( $50 cheaper a month then what the uninformed cust service rep was trying to sell me) . What took 45 minutes should have taken 15. read more
