He couldn't, but he diagnosed the problem and suggested a $10 fix, using a part a store down the road had. Tech Heroes? More like Tech SUPER Heroes! Recently, my phone started experiencing issues. When I made calls, I could hear people but they couldn't hear me. I took it to the carrier, and they said I'd need to buy a new phone or send it into the phone manufacturer. Then I stopped over to Tech Heroes - they fixed it in under 5 minutes. There was fuzz in the tiny microphone port on my Android, and the guy cleaned it out with a dry, soft brush. Went in to US Cellular to get phone fixed or a new one. However they recommended taking my phone to TECH HEROS. I had never heard of them before. The main point is this. They rock. Saved me a ton of money buy fixing my phone. Took it all apart and put a few new pieces in it. $60 for and an hour wait and the phone is like new. Was told I could bring my phone back for repair within 20 days at no charge. I dropped the iphone again and it shattered. They do not replace with gorilla glass so your phone becomes very fragile after they fix it. Don't use them for screen repair. For $30 more take it to UBREAKIFIX and they also fix your LCD in that price and they use gorilla glass with a 12 month guarantee instead of 20 days. I learned the hard way. read more

Went there to replace the screen on my Samsung Galaxy. I really like the phone so I figured it would be worth the investment to replace the glass. Had the phone for two years without any problem. The phone had a case and originally came with Gorilla Glass. Over two years the phone was dropped probably 50 times. The glass always remained in perfect condition. I was beginning to think it was indestructible. But, it finally cracked when it landed perfectly on one corner. One single crack running from corner to corner. The touch element was still working. It wasn't even really that bad to look at. but... I took it to Tech Heroes and they replaced the glass for $75. When I got it back, the wire rim around the glass was not replaced and actually looked worse than when I dropped it off. The back button and the menu button were no longer visible. They still worked, but there was no back lighting to them. I knew they were there, so not a huge deal. My case covered up the wire rim and the glass itself looked good so I was not going to complain. Not exactly happy but not going to write a review (good or bad) about the experience. A month goes by and after a trip to grocery store, I took the phone out of my coat pocket (not pants pocket) to find the phone had a over a dozen cracks in it. They all started from the same place and looks like a spiderweb of sorts. The phone now looks horrible. The phone was not dropped or mishandled in any way. I may have bumped into something, but the phone had a carbon fiber case on it and it was inside my coat pocket. I took it back to Tech Heroes and asked for a replacement and they said warranty does not cover damage. My thoughts are this, they must use the cheapest glass possible - barely lasted a month. Wasn't dropped. Was inside a case and inside a coat pocket. This cheap replacement glass couldn't even withstand a small bump while inside a coat pocket and Tech Heroes won't stand behind their product. Go somewhere else to have your glass replaced. read more

The charger port on my iphone wasn't working. When I took it into the store, the tech found a bunch of lint stuck in the port, which he removed at no charge. He could have charged me for this but he didn't. He could even have unnecessarily replaced the port and charged me for that. So I was impressed by the tech's honesty and courteousness. read more

I brought my computer into best buy, who told me that it, "was probably my motherboard, and I would be better off getting a new computer." They did not run a diagnostic test, which they were going to charge me $120 for. I am on my last semester of nursing school and desperately needed my computer. I brought it into tech heroes and explained my situation. They charged me a $40 diagnostic fee which would go towards fixing the computer if need be. I was called a half an hour after I dropped it off that they could fix it, and I was able to pick it up that night! They were so awesome and understanding. I will never go to best buy again. read more

I brought my iPhone 4S in to have the charging port replaced. I was initially happy that they charged $5 less than other shops and that they had the part in stock. I was also happy that I was able to pick up the repaired phone a few hours later. After getting home I took a good look at the phone and noticed a major brown stain inside the screen. I brought it back to the shop and was informed that the screen damage was caused by the water that had caused the charging port to fail. When I had brought the phone in for repair the screen was absolutely perfect and I had no idea that the port had gotten wet. The tech was the one to discover the water problem.. I'm upset that the tech was negligent -- he didn't bother to deal with the water problem that he discovered. If he had dealt with the water, it's almost certain that my screen wouldn't have been damaged. He clearly understood that this was a potential problem because he took photos of the inside of the phone to document the condition. The phone was partially disassembled during the port repair. There was a film of water on top of the battery and on the inside face of the cover. The tech mopped up the water that was on top of the battery. But he went no further even though he could see that the water had seeped a long distance through the phone. He could have easily pulled out the battery and mopped up the water that had seeped under it. It would have only taken a couple of minutes. I'll never to to Tech Heroes again. They seem to be competent at replacing parts, but they also seem to have little interest in doing a good, thorough job. The screen on my phone became damaged while the phone was being repaired by Tech Heroes. This damage could have been prevented if Tech Heroes took adequate care. UPDATE: After a month the discoloration on my screen finally went away. My battery died soon afterwards, so I ordered a kit and changed it myself. I now understand why the tech didn't remove my battery and dry out my phone. The old battery was glued in place and I ended up destroying it during removal. I'm not as upset with Tech Heroes as I had been when I wrote this review. But I still don't understand why they didn't communicate better with me about the situation. read more

Went in today to have my charger port on my sons Nokia Lumina fixed, for some reason the port was super shotty and kept giving me trouble. Each time I brought it in they fixed it within an hour, this last time he replaced the whole port because it was old and charged me nothing, what a great group of guys. I highly recommend them if your phones/tablets are acting up. They also sell cases, phones and tablets so its handy if you just decide to get a new phone they have them there so its really convenient . Love them there!! read more

I turned in on 7/17/15 to get my screen fixed on my iPhone 6. I told the guy that I will pick it up 7/18/15 since I had to work. I went in the next day and they told me it was going to be another 15 minutes. After I waited 10 minutes he called me to the desk and told me they don't have the correct screen to fix it. All he could offer me was a free case. No discount off the overly expensive price of $140. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend this store to anyone. This place is horrible! I had my iPhone screen fixed and after 5 days dropped it, causing another cracked screen and LCD damage. This should not happen after five days of a new screen and one drop. I was having problems with my I phone. They explained next coarse of action, how to back up my phone Ect... No charge. Great business.

Would give them a negative rating if I could. They made my computer worse then when I brought it in. When I went to give them a chance to compensate the extra money I spent to fix it they swore at me with customers in the store, told me to take them to court, and refused to give me any form of compensation. I took my Laptop to Tech Hero's in Madison Wi because I dropped it and the screen would not open or close from the position it was in. They looked at it and found that the hinges were bent and needed to be replaced. I agreed to this repair but needed my computer for work and school. They let me take the computer for a down payment of $20 while they waited for the hinge to be ordered. I took my computer home and did not touch it for 2 days because I am a firefighter paramedic and I had to work a 48-hour shift. The computer sat on my desk and everyone in the house was told not to touch it. I went to turn it on after my shift and it did not turn on. I took it back to Tech Hero's so they could see what happened and they were saying it was my fault for using it and I needed to tell them the real story. After a couple argumentative minutes, they agreed to look at it for free. They found that they forgot to attach a wire in the computer when they were putting it together. Because of this I lost faith in the company and decided to take it to a different company. They told me that I owed them $35 for a diagnostic fee because they already ordered the parts and they were not going to be repairing the computer. I told them they could keep my $20 down payment but I was not giving them a cent more. They agreed to this. I then immediately took it over to Cell Phone Repair (CPR) in Madison Wi. They looked at the computer and agreed the hinges needed replacement but they found some of the screws holding the bottom of the computer together were missing. Tech Heroes were the only people to ever take my computer apart prior to this. These missing screws caused my battery to not charge because it was not grounded. This is just the beginning of the extra repairs that needed to be done because of what Tech Hero's did. They also found that the back of the screen was separated above the camera because a retaining clip was broken so a new back of the screen had to be ordered and replaced. I used the computer for a few days and waited for the parts to come in. When they arrived, I brought it back and they did the repairs. After the repair, they started the computer and it wouldn't start. They took the computer apart again and found one of the previously missing screws in the computer, as well as a melted spot, corrosion, and acid on the battery. They believed that the screw was left in by Tech Hero's and while I used it the screw heated and melted the battery. Then when CPR took the bottom off to do the repairs the screw moved and the battery was then shot because it wasn't sealed. So, the battery then had to be replaced. They kept the computer and replaced the battery. After that repair the computer worked flawlessly. All in all, I spent $160 over what the initial repair should have been. I then went back to Tech Hero's to speak with the owner about what happened and that I wanted compensation. We talked very professionally for 15 minutes. He did not agree that his company did this. He told me to talk to his brother because he is the other owner and the computer guy. I said I would talk to him but then I would give them 1 week to decide how they would compensate me or I would take it to court. He then stated "Yes you do that take me to court". I told him to "Fuck off" he then said the same to me with a store full of customer. On my way, out I told the other customers to go somewhere else and he told me to "Fuck off" again. So here is where I am at now. I just feel that any reputable business would work with an upset customer even if there was only a 10% chance their company caused the damage and that the especially wouldn't swear at a customer. What is $160 dollars to the company to keep a customer happy. Moral of the story you will wind up paying much mire for a repair here because they have no idea what they are doing. Go to Cell Phone Repair (CPR) it is practically right next Tech Heros on east wash, attached to Erik's bike and boards in front of Hy-Vee. Very impressed with them and their service. read more

I called them to ask if they would install additional RAM in my laptop. The moment they picked up they sounded very unfriendly. They asked how much RAM it currently had and I told them 8GB. They were flabbergasted, saying there was no reason I needed more RAM. Almost sounded like they considered it some sort of crime. They asked why I wanted more RAM and I said there was a certain game I wanted to play. They reacted very sarcastic and dismissive and just hung up. They were very rude and I felt like they were being very judgemental. There are plenty of reasons why one might want more than 8GB of RAM. Maybe you want to edit video/audio, maybe you want to run one or more virtual machines, or maybe even you want to run Mac OS X in a virtual machine in which to run video/audio editing software. Tech Heroes has awful customer service. I recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Tech heroes is a huge scam. I had a cracked iPhone 6S Plus screen and they told me that they could fix it for $200. They also told me that if I went to the Apple Store it would be much more. After paying $200 and receiving my new screen it cracked within 10 hours. I'm not sure exactly what happened but I'm thinking that the glass they replaced it with was not tempered - rather just regular cheap Chinese glass. When I brought it back to tech heroes they acted like they never saw me before and refused to give me any sort of refund or repair the device even though I had my receipt. In fact the guy I dealt with was extremely rude - and kept accusing me of having dropped the phone which I had not. Seeing I was getting nowhere - I decided to go to the Apple Store where they opened my phone up to replace the screen and noticed a lot of very strange things that the tech hero hack had done inside. The apple tech said that basically my phone was smoking and short circuiting all over internally. All in all the phone had been destroyed by the clumsy and incompetent tech hero technician. Thankfully Apple felt so bad for me that they gave me a brand-new phone for $149 and assured me that if I had come to them first or replacement screen would've only been $149 Please save yourself a huge headache and do not go to tech heroes - they are dishonest and ill equipped to work on today's high-tech devices. read more

Went to Tech Heroes today with my old iPhone 3Gs. The case had separated (front from back). While I waited, they looked at the phone and determined that the battery had overheated, swollen, and forced open the case. They put in a new battery and determined that the logic board had been ruined by the battery. Put it back together for me and sent me on my way. Great service and no charge. What a nice company to do business with! I will definitely go to them for any repairs, unlocking, etc. that I might need in the future. By the way, at the advice of Tech Heroes, I took the phone to the Apple Store. Despite being waaaaaay out of warranty, Apple Store replace the phone for free. My wife brought our Mac book pro in because its running slow. They installed a new cable ($80), didn't fix the problem. Next they replace hard drive (240gb vs 500gb) another $80. Looked on line on cost of drive they installed, $60. I asked why they didn't replaced with/another 500gb, they said to save money. Also blamed my wife wanted a smaller drive. She knows nothing about drives si they're lying. So I got a 240 drive for $160. They said other cost for putting in new drive and loading my data. Tech Heroes to the rescue! Oh my, so thankful for them! I had dropped my phone and bent in the toggle button. I was working with it, but then I turned off the phone and it wouldn't turn back on because "a key was pressed in" I thought I was going to have to buy a new $400 phone which I didn't have the money for! I decided to see if Tech Heroes would be able to help. I took my phone in (no appointment) there were about 5 other people there, I didn't have to wait long. They were very friendly. He immediately knew the issue. Told me to come back in about an hour and it would be ready. Sure enough, I came back an hour later and it was FIXED!!! whooo hooo! They charged $35. They opened up the phone, replaced the button/toggle - it's good as new! Thought it was totally worth the money seeing that I thought I might have to buy a new phone. SO pleased with them! I hope I don't have to use them again - but if I do, I know where to go! Also learned my lesson to get a phone case! ;) read more

The screen on my phone had been broken, and att recommended to go visit these guys to get it fixed. After giving them the phone overnight they had the glass replaced. The people at the store were very friendly and helpful. Initially the phone worked very well but I noticed that the glass didn't quite seem to fit the phone. The light sensors as well as the front facing camera didn't align with the holes in the background of the glass. On top of that there was no hole whatsoever for either the led notifications or the back and page buttons. After the repair, the glass started to leak the glue that held the screen on out of both the home button and right edge of the screen. Two days after the repair was done the glass started to crack. With very little effort or pressure, I discovered that I could break the glass by pressing on my phone, as it had already broken in three places while in my pocket. When I returned to the store to have it fixed, a week later, they insisted that their glass was on par with the glass samsung used initially. They also insisted that I must have dropped it. Not only did they refuse to honor their 30 day warranty, but all they offered was the option to have it fixed again with a $20 dicount. I will never be visiting these people again to repair anything of mine. read more

I was so stressed out when my phone just shut off for no reason last night. I went to my cell phone provider and waiting around for 45 minutes while they told me I just needed a new phone. I did not want a new phone, I just needed my current one to start working. After an hour of them trying to sell me something they finally suggested that I go to Tech Heroes to see if they could fix it. It was after 6:30 pm when I pulled into Tech Heroes parking lot. I noticed on the door that the hours indicated that they were already closed. The door was unlocked and I saw two men at the counter. I walked in, apologized and asked if they were still open. They said it was no problem at all and they would be happy to help me. They both were happy and polite and worked quickly on my phone issue. The one tech I was working with was very fast at diagnosing my cell phone issue and was able to get my phone back up and running within 15 minutes. He then made some suggested for me in the future to avoid the issue from happening and stated that in the near future I might need a new phone. They were never pushy, rude or gave the impression of a salesmen. Once my phone was back up and running he simple handed me my phone and told me to have a great night. Are you kidding me!!! What company offers to help after hours, fixes the issues and doesn't charge you anything? This is a great company and I promise I will be back if I have any electronic problem! read more
