Back to two stars, US Cellular. I know my measly monthly payment is nothing compared to larger contracts, but as soon as I pay off this phone that I was stupid enough to believe was free (it is and it isn't), I'll be taking my then unlocked phone and heading to greener pastures. Why? The folks at US Cellular are nice enough and offer great service. Unfortunately, US Cellular partners with Asurion Insurance. I pay $14.99 a month and can't seem to get out of it. I recently thought my phone was inop at the port. Instead of letting me go to the store and having the phone tested there, I was put through an online chat that immediately forwarded me to an Asurion chat, where I was processed to pay $99 for a replacement phone. A couple hours later (Saturday afternoon), I borrowed my neighbor's charger and cable to see if my charger and/or cable was at fault. Phone charged in ten minutes. Ordered a new cable and charger, came that day. Same thing. I tried to cancel the replacement before it got out of the warehouse. There is no way to do it. Customers are referred to a phone number that goes in loops and offers no human contact. I called US Cellular. USC "escalated" my complaint, but I was told to keep trying to contact Asurion. I did, and encountered a living human crab, who informed me that I couldn't return the phone, then I could, and either way, wouldn't be getting my money back. I was called by the "Office of the CEO" at Asurion on Monday. In the customer service world, that's a BS department where they hire the most polite people to try to talk customers out of whatever they've threatened. And Moni was very nice indeed! I was assured I would get my money back, and told I could refuse the phone. That was Sept. 16th. She claimed to have started the refund process. On Sept. 17th, UPS informed me I needed to go to their office with ID. I voice-called, and was able to send the phone back. It arrived back in Smyrna TN on Sept. 19th. It is now Sept. 25th. I talked to Michael at the "Office of the CEO" who informed me that *he* would start the refund process, and it would take 3-5 business days. That means I should see the refund of my money for a phone, of which I never took possession by October 1st (beating head against wall). I filed a dispute with my bank, which hopefully will be processed very soon. So: US Cellular charges about $88 a month with the rip-off Asurion insurance. Asurion charges $99 when your phone doesn't work for a replacement. If you refuse the replacement, don't expect your money to be returned any time soon, if at all. As long as US Cellular insists that I carry Asurion and not just put my phone on my home owner's policy, I am going to have the attitude that I need to get out of this contract ASAP. I plan to be out of my US Cellular contract no later than May 2025, by paying for the phone. Contract doesn't end until Spring 2026. Any phone carrier that insists I carry Asurion will not get my business. read more

I would rate this place as a negative star. Inconsistent pricing, rude. Took my phone in and when it was returned the phone turned black and I can't see the call waiting. please know they have screen repair available in Walmart and Smart Phone Repair in Kenosha..... do not go to this shop in a pinch. It is not worth the time money or effort. in face because of the way the store owner spoke to me ... I will never return there and will rather pay someone else than to go to a random store in the mall with jacked up prices for screen repair DONOT use them. read more

We were with us cellular for 2 weeks , we returned the phone back 2 weeks later, nether me or my husband could not get cell service on some roads. I made numerous calls to us cellular and they had me tweek this and tweek that but still did not work. So today we went back to tmobile. We went in to change our service from Verizon to U.S. Cellular upon recommendation of a friend. Everything went well (since we were switching and bringing our business to U.S. Cellular [USC]) and the sales guys were "shooting the $hit" having a good old time signing us up. Well, it turns out the cell service is not good where we live, so made the determination to go back to Verizon. My wife called USC CS and they said we need to bring the phones back to the store and begin the cancellation process. Going back to the store, their mood completely changed and acted like they didn't know who we were and proceeded to tell us that we need to call USC CS to mail back the phones (we got them direct from the store). We called USC CS again and they said we need to bring the phones back to the store. USC CS was nice about the issue (hence 2 stars) and made a note on the account so the guys at the store realized they SHOULD take the phones back. We'll be bringing back the phones to the store soon, so let's see how this goes. May revise the stars higher for this review depending on the results. read more

Unfortunately I needed a new phone at 6:45 p.m. on a Wednesday. Shaun at US Cellular Pleasant Prairie was extremely knowledgeable & his customer service was wonderful. Within the first five minutes he figured out what was wrong with my phone. Explained it thoroughly and very concise about what my options would be best for me. He setup my new phone and was very concerned that I didn't have my information backed up; but surprisingly it was and we figured out together what I needed to reinstall. This isn't the first time that I have tapped in on his wealth of knowledge as well as his coworker, Anthony. Hope they are around for a LONG time. read more

Terrible. We ended up taking my entire family's line to Verizon. After making my situation completely clear; being that I had moved to Chicago and hadn't realized that U.S Cellular had left the market there; we had spoken with a representative at this location who assured me that upgrading the phone would alleviate 90% of my problems. So--against better judgment (always trust yourself no matter what) we went with some shitty LG phone which btw I ended up hating completely; and though I stated I was taking it directly back to Chicago; he assured me the battery life and speed of the phone would increase dramatically from my S4 SAMSUNG. Well; he was terribly wrong. From the second; I got it to my place I was "Roaming Constantly" as the phone was consistently searching for a signal; point being--the phone was garbage in Chicago. I would have been better off with a type writer down there. Not only was it always roaming; I couldn't get internet barely at all; couldn't download any app; I could basically make A CALL. sort of (ya know---if I was standing on the top of my building on a clear night) To make matters worse; after 6 or so days on having this so called phone; my dad gets a nastygram from U.S cellular stating they are going to cut off my internet usage; because I am using 5x the amount of data due the phone being on roaming constantly!!! what the heck U.S Cellular?!!! Get your crap together! I was speechless. It turns out since I was roaming all of the time; if I had sent or received 1--COUNT IT 1 email; I would have used up the amount of data that I was allotted to have for a month. WHOA. Because THAT is completely realistic right??? Long story short; I had to take a day off of work; drive back an hour to pleasant prairie to return a phone that never should have been sold to me in the first place. Disgraceful. You feel like you pay people in times like this to give you clear, honest, solid, advice; instead I wasted my time, money and effort; and would have been better off listening to myself with no so called "EXPERT advice from US Cellular. I have switched to Verizon; and absolutely LOVE MY S6. I feel spoiled. I mean; it has a signal and works. I've had this service for many years and it's fine - could use a better phone selection. They always seem to be the last to get the newest phones out there. What I hate is having to go into this store. There can be several reps and not many customers and they don't seem to care how long you sit there waiting. It's like they don't want to make eye contact with you so they can continue to ignore you. I signed in and was the only one waiting when another person walked in walked right up to a rep who seemed to just return to lunch - I know he saw me waiting and was helped.
