Tried to come in and buy a new iPhone cash. Isaac told me because they close in a hour and half that I would have to come back tomorrow because the data transfer would take to long. came in at 6:30 close at 8. There's no way a data transfer takes 1.5 hours. I barely have anything on this phone and at home it takes 10 min. Sounds like he was just lazy.. 12-20-25 @6:25pm. Update: went to T-Mobile on 41st street at 6:55pm and was able to walk out with a new a iPhone! I foolishly left T-Mobile when another company lured me away. After 6 weeks of one nightmare after another, I came back in desperate for solid phone service again. The two employees were assisting elderly customers with non-store issues: trouble with email, Instagram problems, navigating phone buttons. These women showed the patience of Job!  I was receiving service thru this time, however, providing transfer information and whatnot. The store was running smoothly. I left happy. I returned later with a data issue and I was put in contact with a high level support individual. (This guy called me later in the evening and fixed it). I appreciated this effort. My only suggestion for T-Mobile is to provide stores, if possible, a strong tech person to be available to customers. It would seem that there is a need here, so I bet at other stores too. Have taken my 74 y/o friend to this store 4 times in an attempt to get her new Pixel-8 which she got at T-Molbile to function properly. It was sent without a SIM card, which she had not realized. On our 4th trip to attempt to get her a working phone, we were told because her TXDL had expired, they couldn't help her because she didn't have a "valid I-D." If you are over 70, in the State of Texas, an expired DL is considered a valid ID to vote, but I guess T-Mobile, their employee Aaron and the store manager Cedric, who would not even come out of his office to speak with us, consider themselves above Texas law. On previous visits other employees had honored her ID, but today, because she wanted to return the phone, which has never worked properly, her ID was deemed invalid. I would give them a 1/2 moon on the door rating, but that's not an option. read more

I came in to add 1 phone line to my existing account, already regretting having unknowingly walked in to a 3rd party authorized retailer. I explicitly told the salesperson not to add anything extra and not to do anything else to the account, I just wanted the 1 line. I noticed some weird things like a physical SIM card being brought out, even though I was only activating an eSIM, but dismissed it assuming they might have to activate a physical SIM first for some reason. They had me sign on the tablet for the activation fee, and I wanted to look at the rest of the paperwork to make sure they only added the 1 line, but he turned the tablet away before I could read it. After they printed the receipt, they highlighted a free additional line they added. While free is usually fine, I had explicitly told them not to do anything other than the 1 line, and they added this without even notifying me, let alone asking for permission. It turns out that physical SIM card from earlier was for the second new line I didn't ask for. I suggest finding a corporate store nearby, as this is the only authorized retailer in the area. I'm lucky they only tacked on a free line. Save yourself a headache and go to a real T-Mobile store. read more

I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile because I did not receive good service at my house with AT&T. There was an advertised special for $50 a month for two lines at T-Mobile so I went into the store to talk to them. They told me I would get good service at my location by using my address as a search for their program. my bill now runs a little over $100 a month (that does include about 30 a month for the purchase of one phone) and my service is exactly the same as it was before. Not that good. My suspicion is it has to do with the three key factors in any real estate situation: location, location, location. i'm told they will be putting a new tower in horseshoe Bay so that may improve it when that happens. If anybody has an idea when that might happen, I'd love to know it. read more

I had done my research and knew that I wanted to take advantage of one of T-Mobile's 55+ plans. Vanna worked with me to determine what best met my needs. Because of issues related to my previous provider, extra work was required to get my number moved. Vanna was on top of the process and everything was handled efficiently. I'm writing this review because I was in this store earlier and there was another customer there who was being ridiculous. The young lady who was helping her out was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. I was standing there thinking, "Man.. I would probably lose my shit on this customer and then lose my job if I were in this poor woman's shoes." The guy who was helping me out was very friendly and accommodating as well. Unfortunately my Sprint plan wasn't compatible with the T-Mobile phone, which is an odd and inconvenient thing that has nothing to do with the workers at this store and everything to do with the acquisition of Sprint by T-Mobile and their apparent failure to properly manage the merger. In conclusion, I was impressed with the staff at this location and wanted to give them props for being patient and level headed even when another customer was being rude, demanding, and taking up way too much time. read more

During my most recent two visits, they were dealing with one customer who may not have been telling the truth about some things, and then during another visit, a customer was being extremely loud and yelling at everyone. I used to say that my 80-year-old mother and I were the only two people in America who did not yet have a smart phone---well, as of today, it's just my 80-year-old mother! Since 2007, I'd been using the free 3-1/2-inch phone that I got from T-Mobile when I first signed up with them. After 10 years or so, it was kind of a joke, but, hey, it was still working, so I kept on using it... Finally, at Christmas 2020, I bought myself a Google Pixel 4A. But then I got nervous: Could I keep my phone number from my T-Mobile account with a Google phone? And how to even use the new thing! So the new smart phone sat there in its box for over 6 months... Until the old charger finally died last night. It was time for THE CHANGE!! I packed up my old phone, my new phone, and my latest T-Mobile phone bill and went to this closest T-Mobile store (2525 Anderson @ Burnet in Austin) for much-needed advice. I arrived around 3:30pm on a weekday, and there were 3 staffers helping 3 different customers. I had maybe a 5-minute wait before a 4th staffer, Diego, came to help me. Still nervous, I explained all of my above phone history to him. And, as it turned out, exactly NOTHING was a problem at all! Yes, I could keep my same phone number. And Diego installed a brand new (free) SIM card to the new phone. And he found me a plan that was nearly the same cost as what I had been paying since 2007. And best of all, he took the time to show me how to use various features of the new phone (basics such as calling and texting, plus how to use apps and photos and QR codes, etc.). As a newbie to smart phones, I REALLY appreciate Diego's customer service. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable---and my new phone wasn't even a T-Mobile phone! First, this is NOT a T-Mobile store. It is a franchised location owned by some company called Verge Mobile Second, it's the slowest moving store you've ever been in. Infuriating. Third, there are always at least 3 employees there but I've never seen more than one of them walk out of their back break room. When I ask I always hear "They are doing inventory" Fourth, they always look at you like you are from Mars if you ask any question related to something other than buying a phone. Technical support? They do not accept T mobile insurance for a new phone and will fail to mention that when you switch or upgrade to a new phone. Please be aware of this location and others that are franchise out. This T-mobile location has saved my butt a couple of different times. Now, when I first moved over, I had been lured by the exciting new no-phone-contract-required bit. I ordered my SIM cards online and all of a sudden, with no SIM cards in sight, my old AT&T account was dead. Wait, what? To top it off, one of my old phones was still locked into AT&T. So I freaked out and headed over to this location. The people who worked here had my issue diagnosed within five minutes and had me with two new SIM cards (one for each new phone) and a plan for getting my old phone unlocked. They were quick, helpful, and funny. Tonight I ended up with another new phone (don't ask) and had to get my SIM card size changed. They had me in and out quickly again, and were friendly (and dancing) to boot. If only all people in customer service were this helpful! Thanks for everything. read more

I got there around 4pm on a Friday, which was perfect timing: No other customers were around and the staff was able to help me out immediately. I went in looking for the note 8 supposedly they were the only ones that had but they assured me they didn't have it Cause the stock/demo model was stolen but got a great deal for the iPhone XR. #1 This is not a corporate store despite whatever the manager and employes say! #2 Returning equipment or dealing with ANYTHING other than BUYING something is a real pain. The employees within this store mislead, its just a numbers game to them. Much easier to deal with a corporate owned store. BTW, the store on 45th (the triangle) is great. #3. They stole my iPhone. While waiting in the terrible line for help I asked if I could plug my phone to charge under the main counter. I called the next day and they said they had my phone. Long story short, the next day my father passed away and I had to go out of town. A few day later I called to make sure they still had the phone and they did. I have had T-mobile services for over 4 years, and I will be honest I have run into some bad customer service within that time frame. I started going to the Anderson Lane location about a year ago when I broke my Samsung S3. The manager John their was great and he helped me walk out of their with the phone I wanted! He has also helped my mother on several occasions when she kept experiencing receiving defective phones from the 3rd party company...I recommend this store to anyone that has T mobile or is thinking of going...You won't want to go anywhere else! Converted from Verizon to T-mobile two months ago. We had problems getting my wife's Verizon LG-4G phone to work well. Alex spent a lot of time working with Technical support to resolve the problem. Turns out that there was a Verizon (hardware/software) issue preventing the phone from working well on T-Mobile. We bought a new unlocked phone from Amazon, and Alex spent almost an hour installing pictures from three of my wife's old phones. Went into the store for a simple phone upgrade to a new iPhone as part of the T-mobile jump on demand program, which for my husband took 10-15 minutes. I was there for 1.5 hours. When I got the phone home, it was missing an adapter cable that comes with all iPhone 7, and after calling to inquire they only said I must not be looking hard enough. Sigh. I will drive a little farther next time to use a different T-mobile store. read more

The store reps at this store lack honesty, their main focus is to sell and they will lie to get the sale. I have been to this store twice within the last 8 months and have been lured into upgrading to devices without being made full aware of all the hidden costs. Only to later find the additional fees on my bill. My most recent experience was just last week when I went into this same store to upgrade two devices. I knew what I wanted and just wanted to see the availability. The rep told me it was $0 down and I would just be paying the taxes that day. It was not until I got home and looked at the receipt and found a $20 upgrade support charge per line that was $40!! I was just about ready to go back and return the devices and demand a full refund. But decided to hold off and check with T-mobile customer service first. Come to find out the charge is legit for an upgrade at the store and non refundable at that!!!! Now this says nothing about T-mobiles great service and online customer service reps. The online rep I chatted was so helpful and able to alleviate my anger. She resolved this mistake out for me and restored my faith in T-mobile. I have been with T-mobile 10+ years and usually do all my upgrades online and have NEVER been charged an upgrade fee. So now I am fully aware this is an in store fee only and will continue to do any upgrades online and not visit this store any more. Again my bad experiences at the store say nothing about my great service with T-mobile and their great online/phone customer service reps! read more

Exceptionally poor service. I'll be going back to the Hancock store instead. Went in to upgrade my phone but needed to get my old screen repaired first. They directed me to a nearby store that they said they refer people to all the time and that they would replace the screen for $80-$90 in about 2 hours. Cheaper than going through the insurance company. I'll review the other business separately but suffice to say I would NOT recommend Game Gods on Anderson Lane either. They charged me $110 said I had to pay in cash because they needed to give a commission to T-mobile! Obviously the phone store had not shared that little tidbit with me...and had not advised I'd need cash either. Should've left then but just wanted to get this done so I could upgrade.....well they said they'd have it in 2 hours and would call me when ready. 3 hours later still no call, when I called them they said it would be another 30 minutes and they'd for sure call once ready...1 hour later still no call so I called back and finally it was ready. Get there and the phone was there but they had mistakenly taken my case to the T-mobile with another phone that they returned to the store - jeez! So back I go to the t-mobile store....and I expressed my dismay with the customer service at the store they recommended and they were not at all concerned, not interested in making me feel any better about the situation - I basically had 4 people looking at me with blank faces. No attempt to rectify the situation. They need training in customer service. read more

I recently switched to another provider due to better promotion to new customers (tmobile only offer good promo to new customers). Due to this reason, they want their signal booster and wifi router back. I don't have any issues with that and I have all of their equipment in good working order, so that they can't charge me $289 and $99 for these 5 year old equipments. This is NOT why I give them a 1 star review on this location. When I was at this location, there were 3 staffs working, 2 guys and a girl (Haley). The two guys are friendly and helping me with the return of equipment. There were another older lady in the store being assisted by Haley and I felt really bad for her. First Haley doesn't seem like she wants to be there nor have any customer service training. She is rude and have attitude issues. The older lady (whom doesn't speak English very well) where there to exchange her phone.. aparently she has Tmobile's Protection/insurance plan to exchange her broken phone. Haley wants to charge her $30 for shipping and handling of her new phone and the old lady was upset about that fees (since she has insurance/protection and when they sell her the protection/insurance.. no one ever mention here will be a $30 shipping/handling fee) *this is why I never buy any protection/insurance* Instead of professionally explain the fee.. Haley was insulting the customers that she didn't sign or agree to something and how she can't read.. etc etc.. Finally, the lady agrees to pay the fees and ask if Haley will help backup the phone and move data to her new phone.. Haley said "I won't do a damn thing including open the package until you pay the $30" WOW, if she talked to me like that, I would demand to speak to her manager". Sadly for this lady.. she bites her tongue and pay for the "shipping and handling" fee. I felt bad for not standing up for this old lady at the store and hopefully someone at Tmobile will do something about this (I tried contacting them.. but there is no complaint email nor customer's feedback options. read more
