Date: 10/13/2021 Time: 4:25 PM 60° Sunny Corporate T-Mobile store in Emeryville is closed for renovation for at least three weeks or so. The construction worker could not tell me where was the nearest location. No worry. A quick search on yelp gave me the answer. Thus, my husband and I stopped at this location to pay our bill. In searching for this business, we drove right past it. No need to panic. This T-Mobile is in Temescal Plaza, across from the Walgreen's. Customer service was excellent. We were helped by Junique. Her third day on the job and she was pleasant and awesome. Her co-worker was also helpful in accepting our payment. She purged and deleted some old emails on my husband's gmail account. Her coworker helped me with the setting on my yelp app. It kept saying "you must be a ninja. We don't know your location." A ninja? Hahaha!!! Not, it was annoying. I'm glad he went to the setting to resolve it. Leave it to the young generation in dealing with technology. Both my husband and I are old and slow in trying to learn how to do certain things on a mobile device. If we don't want to go T-Mobile in Emeryville to pay our bill, there is always this T-Mobile. I'm glad I found this one on yelp.

This T-Mobile store is not easy to get to. There are numerous other businesses including the Walgreens and the Post Office) with patrons competing for parking. That's just a point of information though; I'm not going to ding the store's review for its parking situation. The meager rating represented here is entirely based on the service we experienced INSIDE the store. On the bright side, on most occasions, you won't have to wait long for help since they are typically overstaffed. When we visited, in *addition* to the security guard, there were FOUR T-Mobile staffers on the floor - easily more staff than customers. That's great! However, our most recent visit (New Years Day) was to consider options for my girlfriend's iPhone which was oddly running out of space with "Other" files clogging up storage. There are probably (read: there MUST be) better ways to approach this problem, but the recommendation that the T-Mobile rep had was to backup the phone, factory reset, and then re-download the phone's contents. Oh my. Feeling desperate, we agreed, and asked for assistance backing up the phone to the cloud. Unfortunately, the rep could not get the iPhone to connect to the customer-facing WiFi hotspot. She tried blaming the phone saying that maybe it was because it was full. However, we pointed out that we're able to connect that phone to myriad other hotspots, including the different ones at home. Also worth noting is that I was also unable to connect to the store's customer-facing WiFi hotspot from my Samsung Galaxy. Even after I noted that there was probably an issue with the customer-facing WiFi in the store (the staff uses a different SSID), "I don't know what to tell you," was all T-Mobile agent had to say when we asked about other options to connect or backup. Literally, those were the last words she spoke. Feeling like we'd worn out our welcome, and certainly like we'd taken in all the advice we were going to get, we went home. In the end, we scoured the Internet for more suggestions, learned that USB backups to a local device would be faster, and used that method to backup, wipe, and then restore the phone. I still think there's got to be a better way to delete unnecessary but persistent "other" files, but the important thing to take away from this review is that one of the LAST things you ever want to hear a customer service representative say is, "I don't know what to tell you." That's literally their job to know what to tell us. . . . or to figure out what to tell a customer.

This place is consistently closed but touts wrong store hours. The "computers are down" is the key excuse to prevent account maintenance.

They were able to complete this in half a day and I picked it up next morning. Odometer on my 2001 Toyota Camry was having issues on high temp days that cause the odometer to not display and the speedometer to remain only at zero. It seems to be a common issue with older 1997-2001 Camrys and the solution was to replace with a new resistor (I tried replacing the VSS, transmission solenoids, spark packs/wires/plugs, new alternator and battery) per a video on YouTube. They did a great job with the soldering of the new resistor and I put the odometer/speedometer back together and into the car with no issues. Now to see if this resolves my Camry issues! Big thank you to Andrea for her prompt replies to my questions and Carlos for ensuring that the techs knew what needed to be done!

The staff is usually helpful, and turnaround times are pretty quick. However, my last experience was really disappointing. I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.

Knowing how insanely expensive the Apple Store tends to be as well their ridiculous wait times to get an appointment, I needed to act fast for a very quick fix. Cellular City Phone Repair was referred to me by my father who has always had great experiences with the owner, James. Now having conducted business with him, what I can say is that James is a gentleman who provides very fair prices, great service, and super helpful tips. I called in the schedule an appointment early in the morning and he encouraged me to come in, so he could inspect my phone to get a better understanding of what my problems were. He saw me immediately, and gave me a turnaround time of about four hours. Given this wasn't scheduled in advance, and when I returned to the store he was just finishing up, I couldn't have been more pleased to have my phone functioning normal again. After receiving payment, he mentioned that I should call back if any issues occurred after the service. From his friendly and respectful demeanor, as well as great reputation, not just with my father, but also from multiple comments listed on Yelp and other review platforms, I believe his word to be true and well definitely return if I ever need any other service for my smart phone. I highly recommend Cellular City Phone Repair and encourage anyone in San Leandro or in the accompanying East Bay to go here if/when in need of a phone repair. I rate this business a well deserved 5/5.
