The Brick is a classic in KC. Great Bands, really great food, classics as meatloaf sandwich, Cobb sandwich, Ruben sandwich, full bar, fun people. Visit soon!

The owner was serving us that evening and was gladly attentive. The vibe of the place was also very laid back and welcoming. This is definitely a spot to take friends to just eat and hang out. The menu is creative but has something for everyone. I got the Sriracha bacon burger and my wife got the vegan burger. She loved hers and it was great on her stomach. The burger for me was a 10/10.

Miss Sherry has made this place a home to many. Wow! What a beautiful bar with food that doesn't hurt my tummy! I had the vegan burger and it was delicious. Not to mention Miss Sherry made sure my sprite was never empty! Best place to be.

The diviest of dive bars with excellent hot dogs. Came to here because of Guy Fieri and was not let down. Drinks are very well priced and there's plenty of food options. Ordered the Kansas City Reuben which is an excellent choice. Our server also helped us when deciding and it was not too busy. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're near downtown KC

Stopped by for lunch. Nice atmosphere and not what I expected based on the looks of the front door. Kinda reminded me of a speakeasy of sorts. Decent beer selection. Food was mediocre. Fried pickles were tasty, but super greasy. Patty melt was OK. The patty was really thin and definitely not the star of the dish. The rye bread was nice. That's about it. The tater tots were way overcooked and so greasy. If greasy food is your type of thing, then you'll likely find the food appealing. I would still go for beer!!

It was just okay. A lot going on in the restaurant. Food was hot. Not many good options to choose from . Sever was nice. With good service. There's a lot of junk and scribble on the walls . First time here and not sure if I'd return. Not sure if it's for me but could be for someone !

This is a little hole in the wall place. It has a great atmosphere with a stage towards the front. My drink came and was super tasty. It was a mule but the pear added just the right touch. The spinach and feta dip was creamy and fully loaded with goodness. The Oklahoma hotdog was beyond anything I could have comprehended. I thought it was going to be like a corndog but that description isn't even close. It was crispy with so much flavor. My girlfriend said the Pubby burger was cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Our waitress was super friendly with great timing. She allowed us the time we needed to make all of our decisions. She kept our drinks filled and our table cleared.

    Greek salad

I ordered for the first time and got the Greek salad the salad was good and the dressing was good but all I had was spinach and lettuce a very few vegetables, the salad was 9.95 I was expecting a salad not a kids sala.

Today was not the first time I've been to or eaten at The Brick, however, it was the first time I've had Brickfast and it was delish! The hubs got coffee, standard, no flash, cream & sugar; I got a hermosa with Boulevard Wheat and orange juice. More beer than juice, which for the venue, is expected and welcome! We started by dipping our toes into them Disco Fries (sans green onion) and a Cinnamon Roll. Both were delightful but I do wish the cinnamon roll had been a little more...gooey? For entrees he got the Country Boy - we knew from previous visits that they have great Chicken Fried Steak - and I got The Firebird. Both were delicious and exactly what we expected. Service was fast, friendly and we got everything we needed quick and without asking twice. Although it was a busy & bustling morning, we got a nice seat in the back to people watch and hear each other without yelling, ha! We love the Brick - it's a treasure and I always think "we don't come here enough" every time we stop in! The artwork and seating is lowkey but unique and it just feels comfy and cozy but in no way pretentious. Get yourself down for dinner, lunch or Brickfast sometime!!! And go support the local music scene, it's more important now than it ever has been!

Great drinks, great food, great service. Tried and true kc staple! My bf raves about the chili!

Great food, great service, great music!! All the food was very cheap, but very good. I ate with 2 other people and the bill was only $50. And like I said, the music was amazing! I'd definitely come here again.

This is one of many DDD joints in Kansas City, which I really didn't know was on the TV show until I went in... I selected The Brick for lunch on the day I went as a result of all the positive reviews. I've pretty uch given up on trying to find DDD joints to visit when I travel (as I travel for work a LOT!!) because so many are either stuck on their being on the show or have gone out of business since (also as a result of being big-headed from being on the show)... so, I've found it to be the kiss of death for those who don't know how to properly manage their business. But not here!!! Sherry, who owns this business, is so very friendly and amazing! She comes up with all the items on the menu herself, which is incredible, as she's also busy running the front of the house of her business. The day I went, they were moderately busy for late lunch. No bands were playing, but they have a stage and bands play often here. The menu is loaded with interesting, original dishes she's come up with. I had a hard time deciding, so while sitting at the bar, where she was working/serving, I asked her what's good and when she said the meatloaf sandwich, I went for it, not realizing it was also featured on DDD. I started with a cup of chili and I loved that when I asked for it, she countered by asking how I wanted it topped! I chose jalapeños - yum! The chili was flavorful, with more than one style of bean and loaded with plenty peppers - yum!! The meatloaf sandwich was incredible! The meatloaf was soft, flavorful, and perfectly put together to be sturdy without hard or tough. Incredible flavor and texture, which seem to be the tough part about making the perfect meatloaf. And the bread it was on was incredible! Overall - loved it! I also got their double-beer battered onion rings as a side and those were awesome! Nice sweet onions inside with a great, not to tough batter on the outside! Overall, great service, great menu, great execution... This is truly a place that deserves the 5 stars they are getting. She's doing it right and I hope she continues to be successful! I'll definitely visit when in town again!

    Vegetarian Meatloaf

The brick is located slightly off main Street in the crossroads. Parking wasn't too bad and there are a ton of nice bars around to stop at after your meal. The brick feels like a welcoming, even homey, dive bar. The decor was spot on and made you feel instantly at ease (in my opinion). The server was so friendly and attentive, even after we waited about 45 minutes to order for some friends to arrive. I absolutely love that this spot has so many reasonably priced options that can be made vegan or vegetarian. I went for the vegetarian meatloaf sandwich which is made in-house. The flavor was well seasoned, although I did wish the chipotle ketchup stood out a bit more. The meatloaf texture was a bit soft - but honestly it was a great vegetarian option. As someone who hasn't had meatloaf in years, this scratched the itch for me. The sides are good as well, the tots were cooked perfectly. They also had a ton of tasty local beers to try which I appreciated. Will definitely be back here to enjoy more of their menu! A nice gem for Kansas City to have.

Do you need to be 21 to get in?

They have music. Do they have a dance floor?

No, not a dance floor. However, if you love a song they’re playing, enough room for you to stand up with someone and enjoy.

Can anyone tell me if it best to call ahead to the brick or how much of a wait is there notmally?

Have been in a 1/2 dozen times and have never had a wait. All the visits though have been between noon and 4:00 PM. This is a dive bar with excellent food and good music. Outside of that nothing special and they take no reservations that I know of.… Read more

It was not communicated prior that there would be opening acts and Quinn XCII would not be performing until 3 and a half hours later after the doors opened. Especially on a hot summer day I am appalled by the Fresh Karma staff and communication. While we were waiting for 3+ hours for Quinn XCII to preform, the girl next to us proceeded to pass out and then start aggressively vomit. We are in the middle of the crowd. We proceeded to get help and alert the Fresh Karma staff. We seemed to interrupt and annoy them as they were busy smoking and passing joints when we sought medical assistance. 10 minutes later, a staff member proceeded to come after we had already gotten her water and fanning her from heat exhaustion (I'm sure she had been drinking too). After your staff escorted the lady out, no one from your staff cleaned up the excessive vomit in the middle of the venue. So, my friends and I proceeded to wait another couple hours with the vomit cooking in the heat for Quinn XCII. I have seen Quinn XCII before and his performance and timeliness was nothing close to this awful evening/night. I know I am sharing a quite angry experience, but I hope this feedback gets to the right people for improvement.

Incident Details: Time/Location: Saturday, May 16, 2026, at approximately 7:30 PM at the back entrance of T-Mobile Center during the UMKC graduation. What Happened: I exited and attempted to re-enter through the back entrance. I was stopped by security and told I could not re-enter. At the same time, I personally witnessed a white family being allowed to re-enter through that same entrance without issue. I was singled out and denied the same access granted to others. Escalation: When I asked to speak to a supervisor, my request was ignored by security. A KCPD officer on site then threatened me with arrest simply for asking for a supervisor. I was not disruptive, threatening, or violating any posted policy. Staff Involved: I do not have badge numbers or names. The security staff and KCPD officer involved can be identified via security camera footage from the back entrance at approximately 7:30 PM on May 16, 2026. I request that this footage be preserved immediately. My Concerns: Discrimination: Denying me re-entry while allowing a white family to re-enter is disparate treatment based on race. This violates Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Missouri Human Rights Act §213.065 RSMo, which prohibit discrimination in places of public accommodation. Intimidation by Law Enforcement: Threatening arrest for requesting a supervisor is retaliatory and an abuse of authority. Premises Liability: Under Missouri law, T-Mobile Center has a duty to ensure its agents treat invitees lawfully and without discrimination. Requested Resolution: Immediate preservation and review of all security footage from the back entrance at approximately 7:30 PM on May 16, 2026. Identification of and investigation into the security staff and KCPD officer involved. Written response within 10 business days detailing findings and corrective actions, including anti-discrimination training. Written apology for the treatment I received at my son's graduation. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and that all relevant video and records will be retained pending investigation. This was my son's college graduation. No parent should be subjected to racism and police threats on a day meant for celebration. Michelle
