This review is for the T-Mobile corporate store at 9308 Elk Grove Blvd, Suite 120, Elk Grove, CA 95624. I have been to this store several times in the past to look at phones. This is a corporate store which means that they have the ability to do things that a authorized retailer does not. I had a very large concern involving a phone I had to turn in to get credit on my new phone. Normally I would receive a shipping mailer for it, but as of the 25th day none had arrived. I was getting concerned so I went to this T-Mobile store and was greeted by several associates. I explained everything and they told me not to worry that they would resolve it by taking the phone there. Since it's a corporate store, they can do that and they gave me a receipt. What a relief as I was very worried about everything involving my old phone being returned to T-Mobile. The service was absolutely stellar and the associate I talked to could not have been more polite or helpful. We even went over my bill and he explained some features of my new Google Pixel Watch 4. The store is spotlessly clean and the display of the phones and other items are excellent. I have been a customer of T-Mobile for many years and honestly have never had any problems with service or the phones. A few older one star reviews make me wonder. I have walked into T-Mobile stores before when they were really, really busy and sometimes the wait is a little long. Normally when that occurs I just leave and come back later. I do feel sorry for those customers who experience the issues that occurred. However, in my dealings, I have never had that problem. One time I accidentally locked up my SIM card and after waiting a while the person at a T-Mobile authorized retailer unlocked it for me. Very kind and willing to go the extra distance to be certain everything was done correctly. I'm completely happy so far. Coverage is better than AT&T. Price drop was substantial. ZERO STARS. Terrible service. Family was there for 5+ hours. We came into trade said we need to replace screen on 2 of the iPhones. OK reasonable. 1 hour later. Says another phone that he had for over an hour also needs to be replaced. 2 and a half hours past now I have to go to work. My family stays there for another 3 hours and drop the new phone to me at work. They transfer my info from my old phone to the iPhone 13 with NO SIM. Now I have to call another day off work to pick up the SIM card. Absolutely horrible. Spent all day there today and have to go back tomorrow. Lam N needs to lose his job. Whether it's a new phone or new camera, I love experimenting with the latest technology. So you can only imagine my excitement when Apple announced that the iPhone 12 series would have advanced 5G capability. However, I would later find out that the Sprint network did not have the capacity to utilize 5G to its full capabilities. Thankfully, T-Mobile's merger with Sprint has slowly rolled out and I received a notification to bring my phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max) in to have the SIM card replaced. When I entered the store I was immediately greeted and flagged over by Bradford. After verifying my identification, Bradford immediately began the process of replacing my SIM card. He explained that replacing the SIM would officially place the phone onto the T-Mobile network. In addition, I would see increased coverage speeds due to T-Mobile's 5G network. I was expecting a pretty long wait, but was surprised to see how efficient the employees were at this location. Welp wanted a new phone and tried ... by that I mean went in got poor service from Diana. Before even scanning my id she was going over promotional options on IPhone 15 then proceeded to give me cost before even asking my wants on new cellular device . After scanning my ID was told my paid off device (in perfect shape without her evening viewing it ) wouldn't cover cost of fees towards down payment on new phone . After asking for her to please check found out my device was actually worth MORE than the needed in store deposit for the new promotional Iphone 15 she so kindly was shoving down my throat since stepping foot in . With that said Diana was in favor of one thing only the sale of the IPhone 15 which I AM going to buy ... Just not from her as customer service is not something she maintained. Off to a different T-Mobile to do the exact thing Diana wanted just through somone who cares about the customer experience not just the sale . read more

This location always gives me problems. They never want to work. I was there to purchase a new iPhone 14 and combine two phone lines that are already T-Mobile numbers. The young lady that "helped me told me it was impossible "I tried it for my friend." What's that even mean? She told me I'd have to take my numbers to another cellular service like at&t to keep them. I called the 800 number and they did it in two minutes, literally two minutes. It's called a transfer of responsibility. People should ask a supervisor for help if they don't know how to do their job. It's common sense. read more

This review has nothing to do with the site, only their cell service. The people at the store are really nice. I switched to T mobile around 6 months ago. I have a 2 year old phone so that isn't the issue.. Changing providers was the dumbest decision I have made in quite a while. The service is beyond terrible. I have days where I cannot make or receive calls, failed text messages and notifications that I am not connected to network pretty consistently. I can't count how many times I've restarted my phone. It didn't help at all in most cases. I have called customer service and the answer is always the same, 'service outtage.' This tells me their equipment is sub par and cannot keep up with the number of users or something along those lines. Then I got that they are modernizing. When I asked how long that would take, I was told they don't know. What is the point of having a cell phone if it doesn't work? They can advertise about their 5g coverage but it's all garbage. If you are thinking of switching to T- mobile....DON'T DO IT! I never had an issue with my prior provider which was Verizon. So I will take appropriate action to solve my problem. Be careful here, the people that work here really dont know what they are talking about they say anything to get you to upgrade/purchase. I was told over and over add a line for free, so I did purchased two new phones and added a line for my wife. When I got my bill the next month it was more than double I knew it would go up because of the new phone purchase but when I called customer service the told me the line was free when you already had two lines WTF! The 5 stars is for Winston! He is seriously the best...mobile expert indeed. We have been coming to the store about 3 different days in the last week and each time Winston provided exemplary customer service. His knowledge and calm demeanor were very much appreciated. He helped us each time with all of our questions and set up with switching to TMobile. The only time we didn't get to have him (as he was assisting someone else at the time)- he still checked in on us and made sure we were Getting taken care of. The store itself was nice and clean and the other staff were friendly too. The only thing I would say is that the music got pretty inappropriate but our boy Winston jumped in and changed it immediately. He is amazing. Being fairly new to T-Mo I always have things I'm confused about and when I come in got help they are always helpful. They don't ever try to up sell you too excessively on their products or services and at the same time I feel they are trying to get you the best choices for your service. Lied to from the beginning. Traded in 2 iPhones after being told that we were getting 800 each. Also told that my bill will be 186.00 per month and with bill pay I would get another discount. Once we received our first bill it was almost 250. Now we're finding out that we were only given 600 for iPhone s that were not even a year old. Believe it or not that doesn't even scratch the surface. I signed up for bill pay because I'm busy and at that time had an ailing father. One day I tried to make a phone call only to find out they shut my service off due to non payment. I was on the phone for over 45 min on hold before I hung up. The next day before the sun came up, I had family drive from out of town to inform me that they had been trying to contact me for hours and my dad had passed. I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye because t mobile at thus location didn't have their shit together. Bad matters worse when just checking my bill, iv been over charged and all promotions that were suppose to be applied to my account,they never applied. Now if I want to leave the network, I'm being told I will have to pay almost $2000.00 and will not receive the trade value/ credits for my phone. So it's like were being forced to stay for 20 months of forfeit the money they owe us on 2 iPhone's. I just had one of the worst customer service experiences I have had recently. I called everywhere looking for a specific phone. David said they had it and said he would save it as we were headed down right away. We hot there faster than we thought yet they had already sold it. David shrugged as if it was no big deal. When asked why he told me he would save yet sold it he replied they were a hot item. I asked why he told me one thing and did the opposite he just shrugged again. I have a friend that experienced a medical emergency and needed me to cancel his accounts for him. I canceled his DMV car registration (PNO), his home phone, his internet, his credit cards (not the one t-mobile charges every month), worked with garbage collection and several other services. Everyone cooperated with me except T-mobile. When I called the T-mobile number they said get his ID and bring it into the store and they will cancel. I brought his ID to this store and they refused to help. They do not cancel service. I have to use the T-Mobile phone number. They let me know if I cancel his credit card they use for payment they would ruin my friends credit. I asked him to call the T-Mobile number since the T-mobile phone people told me to go to the store. Working together they could figure it out. They refused and reiterated they do not get involved with cancelling service. They had only 3 other people in the store and they were all employees so they were not busy. I had to call T-Mobile from the hot parking lot while I saw the employees taking a break. I called the T-Mobile number from the parking lot and they said they would work it out and call me back in 72 hours. They did not. Now T-Mobile will not cancel until I get a Power of Attorney(POA) and email them a photo of the POA. But, this is the third way they told me to cancel his account and they already would not cancel his account after I followed their directions on the first two methods. If you use T_mobile make sure you have a way for someone to get your pin because they will not let you cancel service without it and will send your family or friend on a wild goose chase if they try to cancel it for you. And, this store will do nothing to help you with this type of problem and based on how they refused to call the T-Mobile number I'm guessing they will not help with several other types of issues. read more

I would give this store a negative 5 star if I could. LIARS LIARS LIARS. They will tell you anything just to get you signed up and doesn't follow through. Anything from free phones to the monthly plans to data rates and allowable usages. There after you call for any reason and they will say there colleagues' are at lunch and will call back. They NEVER call back. BAD BAD BAD service. We were with AT&T and was completely happy until a rep told us they could beat AT&T rates. WRONG! We have 6 lines and now we have to pay 100 bucks more a month. Why would we change carriers to pay more? Buyers be aware and not go to this store! I switched from Verizon to T Mobile. We brought 3 people in our Verizon account, one of them had a relatively new Motorola Droid Ultra purchased from Verizon. The sales rep, (his name is Preet) should have said "you're phone probably won't work on the T Mobile network but check the IMEI code on the T Mobile website to be certain. What he actually said was words like - Oh yeah, my Dad has one of these, it'll work. - I have a Moto X, it's the same phone only with a bigger battery. We switched to T Mobile and the Droid Ultra would function fully except texting which didn't work. Made many many calls to T Mobile tech support, Motorola tech support, and of course the Droid Ultra did not work. This added $450 to the cost of switching over because we had to purchase a new phone to replace the Droid Ultra. What bothers me the most is this: Preet is a T Mobile employee, pink shirt and all, yet when I asked T Mobile for some consideration like a few bucks off the phone, or a bill credit, it fell on deaf ears. The assistant manager did offer a free phone case. "Hey I'm reely sooree but that's all they let me do. Thenks...." Buyer beware, don't seek or accept technical advice from the store sales people. Verify these things independently for yourself like I should have. I will save money by switching away from Verizon, no doubt and I figure after a couple of years the savings will have paid for the cost of the new phone. I'm very disappointed in how they misled me in this deal. One last note, when you walk into the store they call out something like "welcome to the "un-carrier". On this point I agree with them. T Mobile is the un-carrier. UNknowlegable, UNaccountable, and UNfair. read more

Called the store to ask something about transporting a number and Nancy with the rudest attitude straight up told me they couldn't do it and that it was against the policy. I asked her if I should called the 1 800 number to see if they could help me and she said NO WE CANNOT DO THAT. So after I hanged up I called T-Mobile and guess what?!! They helped me without a doubt I have no idea why she gave me that attitude. If you are not sure about something just tell your customers to call T-Mobile because apparently she doesn't even try to see if you can or can't do something. AWESOME! This review is up to date and seems a lot has changed since the last few reviews below. Very Helpful staff. They were VERY busy when i walked in, but I was still greeted twice from them. One from saying, "welcome to t-mobile" while helping a customer, and another taking time to come to me and add me to the "waitlist". When i mean busy, there were about 6 staff and every single one busy with a new customer. SHAZ - He is Awesome. Helped me in every way possible. Awesome customer service. My family and I have been going to this TMobile location for years. We have paid our bills there and bought many phones here. They seem very helpful when you're buying a phone, but often I find at this store (and with TMobile overall) that they say one thing to make a sell, but do another in practice. The final straw was when I went to the store on the advice of a TMobile rep to change out a phone I had been having problems with. I told the representative in store why i was there, described the problem I was having on the phone. Clearly he didn't want to help me since I was not there to buy anything, his demeanor said i was annoying him . After performing a diagnostic on my phone he told me nothing was wrong with my phone. I told him again that i had consistently been having a problem with it. He said, well nothing is wrong with it. So I responded "So you're not going to help me." He said no he would switch it out, but again irritation and annoyance was clear in his body language. He then offers to switch me up to a new phone. He offers to switch me to another phone, which appeals to me since I was consistently having problems with the same model. Then he tells me I can't switch, no explanation forth coming, just I can't switch. I have to ask him to explain why. He tells me that the jump policy that I had been told was on my phone didn't apply because I had to pay all this money, which was exactly the opposite of how it was described to me when I got the first phone with the jump policy. On top of that, he couldn't switch it out for a phone in the store, I had to have one shipped to me. Overall, the customer service was shoddy. He didn't want to help me with my problem, clearly i was bothering him. I, like other reviewers here, have noticed a consistent dishonesty in their representation of policies and services vs. what is applied later down the line. I have family members that are handicapped and am disappointed to have seen a young woman employee in her uniform driving a black Nissan Altima park in a handicap parking space without any of the legal identification placards. I was helped by a young female employee, who seemed charming at first, with a tongue ring and slurred speach that I could hardly understand but really tried to focus while listening. She claimed I'd get a discount and no down payment..right. I don't want freebies and handouts, just don't b/s me. This place is a joke. I come in for apples with promises and at the end of the month end up with lemon and salty oranges. Wanted to switch from Sprint to t-mobile and tried to sign up for the $140 with 4 lines agreement and ended up paying an untraceable amount close to $400 at the end of the month. I found out the manager screwed up and put me in a different plan. Guess who has to pay the transaction fees? You guessed it. The manager there (Ash) promotes these types of transactions and it pushes me to the edge knowing he provides bad service to the rural and nearby communities. I went back to this place three times with my busy schedule to fix problems they continue to create. Wrong plans, purposely set up bad transactions to have customers return to make changes and pay fees after fees is just the start. Go to t-mobile off Bruceville and Elk Grove Blvd, they put in quality time and effort to fix my problems and with good intentions. I see a lot of bad reviews (wish I looked on yelp first) so hopefully the community check yelp first before setting foot in this store. With all the negative reviews wonder if t-mobile franchise stepped in to improve the store. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if upper management would get scammed from all the bs too. Dishonesty and lies definitely took this store far. Update: After leaving a 1 star review and signing up to t-mobile at this particular store.. apparently, someone ordered 2 iphone7 on my account with extra lines. Go figure. The store is clean, but that's about the only redeeming quality. For the size of the store the selection of accessories was minuscule, and I ended up waiting over 20 minutes just to buy a car charger because there was only one guy working. He annoyed me too...he was very pushy and although I realize it's his job to sell, he was very aggressive and didn't know when to let up. Once I got to the counter, he decided to read up on my info too, instead of just cashing me out like he should have. Preet was his name, I believe. Definitely not ever going back to this location.
