I requested quite a few years back this tall skinny guy worked at AT&T and was trying to convince me to buy a new phone. I didn't have the money to upgrade and wasn't even in the store for that purpose. The employee starts sliding my phone back in forth between his hands like he's going to drop it. I decided to add a line. I went into a retail store on July 4th & was told I didn't need the extra no & to pick a new no. I was also told I didnt owe anything until later In the month. I went out of town and while I was gone my phone was locked because ( according to the stupid piece of AI "bot" it was reported on the black list as a stolen device. Went in to cancel my old line and open a new line. I was in my old line with a brother but he moved out of state. Went in and wanted to cancel my line, open a new line. The worker who helped me was Randy. I had to finish paying off my phone before I can upgrade into a new phone on the new line. Got my new line open, new phone, but when I left my number on my old line was still working along side my new line. I wasn't sure what was going on. I thought I just needed to wait for all my data on my phone to transfer to my new phone and I just had to drop off my old phone. Turns out, I needed to call ATNT to cancel my old line. How ridiculous. I told Randy I wanted to cancel my line and I thought he did that for me. He never told me I needed to call ATNT to cancel my line. I was busy and didn't have time to drop off my old phone. When I did go drop off my old phone a differnt worker told me I needed to call ATNT. I called ATNT to cancel my line and they told me I will still be charged $74 for my OLD LINE THAT DOESNT WORK ANYMORE BECAUSE I TURNED IN MY PHONE AND CANCELLED MY LINE ONEEEE DAY LATE. Yes 1 day. Now they're saying the new cycle started again for the old line and I would have to pay $74. BS!! These workers will hide important information. My husband and I have been AT&T customers for many years and have always visited this location without issues. Unfortunately, our recent experience was extremely disappointing and left us feeling misled and frustrated. About two weeks ago, we visited the store to explore options for getting iPads for our two children. The representative who assisted us told us about a promotion where, if we upgraded our phones to the latest iPhones and added lines, we could receive two iPads for just $0.99 each. We were also told that trading in our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultras would give us approximately $1,100 per phone, making the iPhones essentially free. Although we've been Android users for years and had no intention of switching to iPhones, the deal sounded too good to pass up. We also made changes to our wireless and internet plans because we were told it would save us money. During the process, we informed the representative that my husband's phone had a crack on the back. We were assured that we could either file a warranty claim and trade in the replacement phone without any issues. Because it was close to closing time, the representative suggested we return another day to complete the internet changes. Two days later, I returned to the store and was told he would contact internet support on my behalf. I also mentioned that I couldn't locate the warranty information for my husband's phone, and I was told that trading it in as-is would be fine. Over the next several days, the representative called multiple times regarding the internet setup. At first, he said he would handle everything, but eventually I had to get on the phone with the rep while the rep was on another phone with internet support. I was told a technician would come out within about a week and that our internet service would be interrupted 24 hours before the appointment. A week later, I returned to trade in our old phones. This time, a different representative informed me that because of the damage to my husband's phone, we would only receive around $350 in trade-in value. Naturally, I was upset because this was completely different from what we had been told when we agreed to all of these changes. I asked to speak with the original representative but was told he wouldn't be back for several days. To make matters worse, when our scheduled internet installation date arrived, no technician showed up. Instead, a device was simply delivered. After trying to set it up myself and having no success, I logged into my account only to discover that the internet order had been canceled. I contacted the representative again to let him know of the issue. When we finally met with him, he explained that he was new and had relied on information provided by another employee who was no longer with the company. Because that employee had left, there was apparently no way to verify what we had originally been quoted. We were then told that both of our phones had damage and would only qualify for about $350 each unless we paid to repair them first. Even then, the trade-in value would only be around $830--not the $1,100 we were originally promised. At that point, we explained that we made all of these decisions based on the information we were given. Had we known the actual numbers, we would not have switched phones, changed our plans, or agreed to the promotion. Unfortunately, the manager had already left for the day, so there was no one available to address our concerns or offer any sort of resolution. In the end, we traded in my phone for only $350 and now have to spend additional money repairing my husband's phone just to receive a higher trade-in value. We also left with an unresolved internet issue because customer service was already closed, and we were told we'd have to contact internet support ourselves to activate the service. I genuinely feel bad for the representative because it seems he was trying to help and was relying on information given to him by someone else. However, the lack of training, communication, and accountability at this location is concerning. Not once did anyone offer a meaningful solution after the mistakes came to light. This experience cost us time, money, and a great deal of frustration. Better employee training and more accurate information would go a long way toward preventing situations like this in the future. read more

This place used to have good service but my last 3 visits ( same situation within 3 days ) has been bad. Checked it and there is still a wait , no issues . They are conducting illegal fraudulent activity at this AT&T the employees during promotion sales are adding extra lines. During Christmas, they had a promotion where you can add a watch or tablet for a dollar and I specifically ask them if it's with an extra line or not cause I won't do it if there's a line and they said it's Just for the product. The employee confirmed show me how much the bill would be. I agreed to assigned because it was only an extra couple of dollars I received the bill. They added a watch and a tablet line... This is a fraud tactic called cramming. Report this store immediately. read more

Don't go here. They are deceitful. My daughter and I came here to specifically upgrade her phone. What do they do instead?? Add the next up plan. It is not needed-we always stick with our phones for at least 3 years. We go back to the store before 2 weeks of our upgrade to remove the next up plan and just send us to customer service. It clearly says online the ATT store can remove it. That says something about their reps are trying to up their quotas. On top of that the agent added the $50 insurance plan without my knowledge, when i have insurance on individual plan already on my account. Horrible customer service here!!! read more

The worst experience I have ever had was here at AT & T at West Stockton Blvd. Elk Grove, CA 95758 I originally went there to inquire about services from AT & T Department of Transportation and the representative, Diego Ortiz, and the manager on duty changed the topic and offered me what sounded like a very attractive deal: half price of my current carrier, service comparable to or better than my existing plan, and two new cell phones for only $ 52.00 per month. However, the reality turned out very differently. Within 10 days, I was unexpectedly charged $ 285.00 and two weeks later, another charge of $ 940.00 appeared on my account. There charges were completely inconsistent with what had been promised to me. I attempted to contact Diego Ortiz numerous times -calling at least 10 times and sending around 15 text messages -but I never received a response, I then return to the store in person to file a complaint and asked for the name of his supervisor. His response was shocking: he claimed he did not know his boss's name and I asked: why you never answer my calls or texts? his answer was: I always left my phone at the store. After escalating the issue to AT & T corporate, I was eventually reimbursed the full amount and returned to my previous service provider. While I appreciate that the company ultimately correct the charges, the experience at this location was extremely disappointing. I hope AT & T reviews the conduct of the "individuals" involved and takes appropriate action to ensure other customers are not treated the same way. read more

Came here on a Monday night after work. I walked In with 5 people in que, it went pretty past. I think I waited like 15-20 mins or so. Timmy helped me. So I have First net and apparently I have the old version, which is 4g and the new one is 5g so when it came to purchasing my new iphone it was giving Timmy some trouble. So what should have been like 10 mins took like over half an hour. But out of his control and he was super nice about it and kept me informed the entire way. So eventually I gave up and told Timmy I would come back the next day. Aka today. And he was able to fix the issue or whatever it was! It worked. Giving a five star for my experience today with Anthony Cooper. (September 16, 2023) The BEST sales tech in AT&T I've encountered!! My family and I have been long term customers since 2009. Not often that we go in person to the store to talk to employees unless we encountered an issue that was unable to be resolved through the customer service hotline. Anthony was kind and patient. He spent an hour trying to figure out the issue and concerns and never once looked irritated or annoyed. He was attentive and very knowledgeable with his work. He also mentioned about 25% off military discount that I could've been receiving monthly all these years but not one rep informed me about this discount until we met Anthony. In addition, he sold me into trading my iPhone 12 Pro to pre-order the new iPhone 15 pro max and signed up for the NEXT plan. I would highly recommend asking for Anthony for a smooth and satisfied encounter if you're heading to this particular AT&T location. read more

Please, please read your contract carefully before signing anything. I was told that my phone bill would only increase $10 after upgrading my phone. Without informing me or asking for my approval I was signed up for AT&T Protect Advantage and AT&T Next Up Anytime. These plans together would have increased my bill by $27 a month. Service was horrible. Asked for a replacement since the phone i ordered online came opened. Customer service representative stated they submitted the order through their Opus vendor and I received no email or text confirmation. Went back 2 days later to check the status but they stayed they had no way of checking since they went through their vendor. Told me to contact customer support on the phone instead of getting help in person. Called customer support and they stated nothing had been submitted or completed. Great Service! I wanted to learn about the options available to me for upgrading my phone. This location happened to be nearby while we were visiting Elk Grove. There was a long waiting queue, but once we got in there the young man who was assigned to us was very personable and helpful. I wish I could recall his name, but my memory fails me. He patiently and carefully listened to our questions and explained every option available to us. As most of you already know, due to supply chain issues, almost every phone model takes a while to deliver. We decided that we would place our order in a location near home, but it was a very helpful visit thanks to the customer service delivered by the representative who was assigned to us. I just upgraded my phone at the at & t store. The service was fantastic! Sean was so patient with me . I am not very technological. He took his time transporting everything to my new phone. After that was complete he made sure everything was working correctly before I left. I got a great trade in value for my existing phone. I also got 20 percent off of all my accessories. I was happy with the price I paid. Often there is a long line here. It is worth the wait. The long line is because their customer service is so good and they spend time with you. I have had an AT&T account for 30+ years, mostly because the family plan that I have maintained is very good. However, getting good customer service at this storefront has always been a challenge. Most currently, in preparation for a trip, I was in need of a car charger. On entering, I was "welcomed" and I looked up to see no waiting list. Everyone was either on their phones or on a laptop and didn't even bother to look up, let alone ask me if I needed assistance. Came into AT&T to trade in a phone for one that was purchased as we had 30 days to do the trade in. I am a customer for more than 25 years. This is the first time I have ever had absolute horrible customer service. The employee her name is Jordan - absolute rudeness from the start. Dismissive; snarky, as I addressed her she cut me off, was short and her whole body attitude was clear she was irritated. I let it go, as she left the table my daughter who was with me turned to me and I said wow incredibly rude! She said oh god yes, she is terrible. She comes back with the paperwork and continued her behavior and her paperwork doesn't match anything that was stated. When I said that's not correct she again started in with her rudeness. I then at this point called her out on her attitude and told her to get me a manager that I would not be talking to her further as she has been incredibly rude from the start and handed her the paperwork back. She kept going at which point I almost lost it with her and she told me I wouldn't be helped - I told her to give back the device and she stated no that it had now been turned in and she would be calling the police - I said go ahead you don't have the right to keep the device and I will be sitting right here until the manager comes over. She goes over to the manager and continues her smirks, gestures etc with the other staff while looking at me. I sincerely am beyond irritated at this point. A couple minutes later a male employee comes over and reviews the paperwork. I explain the discrepancies with him and he agrees. Explains that the credit being issued will be correct. I show him where the language doesn't reflect that, he agrees and provides further details. While I don't trust I tell him that I will follow up with AT&T directly to make sure this actually happens the way it should be. All the while she is sitting across the shop running her mouth making her looks. I have been in this shop many times over the past 15 or so years and have always had great customer service without issue until today. read more

Walked out feeling like this place deserved 5 stars... but after getting hit with an unexpected $199.21 bill... I was livid. I sat down with the very kind Retail Sales Consultant, Michelle, for nearly two hours, who provides AMAZING customer service, however, she failed to prepare me for this. Fam, if the deal sounds too good to be true, it is. I got side swiped by allllll these hidden fees. Michelle really hyped up their FirstNet service for first responders.... I went through with it, huge mistake! The services isn't even impressive, and you get hit with all these fee's. When you call customer service, after FINALLY getting a live person, they'll credit you for minor things... and then when you ask to leave, they'll explain how you're stuck because you'll have to pay full price for your devices. When I got my bill and it was much higher than I was expecting. This seems to be a common problem at this location. I went into this store to correct the problem, unfortunately I had to go in three times to have the problem fixed, each time being assured it would be corrected. When it was finally done and I had a question for the manager about my new phone, (by this point I was so done with AT&T) he said he would call in the very next day...it's been days and I still haven't heard from him. 2/23 - My phone stopped working. It is no longer charging. I cannot turn it on. I went to this store to look at my options. The customer service tech did not tell me that I had insurance on my phone and instead tried to sell me iPhone 12, apple watch and IPAD for 118 per month. (Beware, some of the customer service reps in this store only care about profit). They send me approval paperwork to my email account at yahoo.com. Like I said, I cannot access my email because I need my phone to authenticate the account. The tech took the SIM card out of my phone and put it in his Android phone so I could access my email account and approve the paperwork the rep sent. (It did not work). Unfortunately, now my AT&T account shows that I have a SAMSUNG Android phone instead of an iPhone. I left the store that day and said that I was going to come back the next day to see what further options I had. 2/24 - I went back and saw a different tech. This tech was more helpful and told me that I had insurance on my phone and said he would file a claim for me to get a different phone. As he is doing that, he asks me if I have a SAMSUNG android. I told him that I have an iPhone and not a Samsung. He tells me that he cannot help me because he cannot change that on his end. He gave me the number to Asurion (the insurance company) so they can fix it on their end. After calling Asurion, he told me to file a claim at https://www.phoneclaim.com/att. I called Asurion. Asurion told me to call AT&T because they (AT&T) are the ones who need to update the correct phone on my account. I cannot file an insurance claim until they have the correct phone listed on my account. So, I called AT&T and explained to them that the correct phone needs to be listed on my account before I can file an insurance claim. The lady that I spoke to, tells me that she has updated the system and that on their end, it shows that I have an iPhone 7. She called Asurion company while I was on hold with her and found out that it will take 24-48 hours for the Asurion company's system to be updated before I can even file a claim. I waited 48 hours. I still cannot file a claim. I called Asurion again. They again can't help me because it shows that I still have Samsung galaxy on their website. I do not know where the disconnect happened but neither AT&T nor the Asurion company helped me get a new phone. I felt ignored. I could not file a claim even after 72 hours. I finally got sick and tired of numerous phone calls that I made to AT&T and their insurance company Asurion. I finally cancelled my account with AT&T and went with a different phone company and ironically, an Android phone. AT&T lost a loyal customer. I had been their customer for 15 years. I post this review so the customer service representatives can look at my story and hopefully figure out a way to help customers like myself who present with a unique situation. Do not let your customer service personnel put another person's SIM card on their own personal phone. read more

I can not believe how bad the customer service at this store and the computer system AT&T used to support their customer service! AT&T is running a still ongoing promotion for the iPhone 12 trade-in upgrade. We have traded in three iPhones online and dropped off the old phones at the Elk Grove/Laguna Creek store. I have received three emails confirmation right after they received the phones. But later found out one of the phones doesn't credit to my account. Called customer service and they said they cannot look up the store receipt number or any of the numbers on the confirmation email they sent to me. They can only lookup by the tracking number or the IMEI number. The trade department also can't find any records of the trade-in. I went to the store over three weeks ago with the confirmation email. They found the record and discovered they type in the wrong phone number when they process the shipping. The manager said he will fix it. It will take about 7-8 days. He will call me when it is fixed. I've not received any phone calls until another phone bill yesterday. The credit still not in my new bill! On 4/21/2021, I called AT&T customer service and they transferred my phone to Steve at the trade-in department. No records of any update! The phone call disconnected when he said he tries to find out what he can do. He does not call me back! I call again and request customer service transfer my call to Steve at the trade-in department. A lady picks up the phone and she said she can't help me, but customer service should be able to help. She transferred my phone to AT&T Universal!!! Lol! I called the AT&T store in Elk Grove and they told me all the managers who can find the tracking number and IMEI number are in a meeting. They take my name and phone number said the manager will call me back. I don't expect they will, but I still waited for three hours and call the store again at 4 pm. The rep transferred my call to a female manager. The Female Manager at the Elk Grove, CA 95758 store is the worse. She doesn't want to help after I told her I would like to have the tracking number and the IMEI number of the trade-in phone AT&T missing after I drop it off on December 8, 2020, even I have the receipt. Also refused to give me her name or employee ID. She told me her name is AT&T. Shame on her! She finally gave me the information I needed after put me on hold for minutes! She is one of the worse customer service reps I have ever been met in my life! I call AT&T customer service and get a hold of Jeraud Michael after I received the IMEI number and the tracking number (the tracking number is wrong even after I repeated it to the female manager at the store). Jeraud is a good customer service rep. I finally found and he goes above and beyond to help me with this situation. He has set up an urgent case and applied the credit for this month to my account. AT&T management. You're lucky to have Jeraud Michael work for your company. But only one good rep compared to many of your very low or no service reps on the phone and at the store. I'm with AT&T for 20 years and I'm going to try another mobile phone company. read more

Husband went in for a new phone for daughter was talked into your discount for law-enforcement. They added a separate line to our account which we do nothing about charged us $140 and then $89 a month until I found the mistake. He's at the store now the store is trying to tell my husband that they were oh he was only charged 5 dollars. I only found the extra line it because my son lost his 3G and didn't convert to the 5G. Called customer service they said to go to the store to get a refund and talk to the manager of the managers. They see the charges for a Extra phone line ...no -at the store. So now we're filing for a litigation to get our over 500 dollars back. I'll never go to the store again! I just read another review about the same thing screwing our first responder shame on all you.
