LP: Thursday, 7/16/2026 was my first time here. A friend recommended this place since I needed to get my nails done ASAP from me jamming my nail and it lifted half way. I've been going to my same nail guy in the East Bay since I was in 8th grade, so 29 years. He's the only one who can do my pink and white nails the way I like it. They have a distinct pink I like which lasts me for a month and a half and it's not too thick. Last month my nail guy told me he was finally retiring and June 30th was his last day. I made a nail appointment with Amy (seen a lot of recs on Yelp about her work) and Casey, one of the women my friend recommended. They were both so sweet and welcoming. Amy even gave me a hug hello and goodbye. They were so shocked that I stayed loyal to my nail guy and Amy was adamant about doing a good job in finding the right pink to match my current one. Amy even had to mix some powders to create a close match and said she'll even save it for me for next time. Casey did a great job on my pedi and even spent a lot of time scrubbing my feet as it sure did need it. I think I found my new spot and will definitely be going back to see Amy and Casey. read more

The employees here seem kind, but I've been here twice (once in February 2022 and again November 2024) and both times the service itself has been mediocre at best. In February 2022 I got an acrylic mani/regular gel pedi, and the french portion of my mani was crooked, the black polish was relatively transparent despite my ask that they coat/layer the black polish so that it wasn't, and there was residue from nail polish and acrylic on my skin where there should not have been residue. November 2024, I got my acrylic nails removed, and they did not take off all of the acrylic (photo shown of thumb nail with acrylic still on it.) My whole point of going to their nail salon this time was so that they could get all of the acrylic off to give my nails a break. OH! Also: this last time when they asked me to sit, another customer's purse was in the seat I was supposed to sit in- the employees looked at me and waited like they wanted me to pick up the purse-but I refuse to touch the purse of another customer and had to tell them twice someone's purse was there before they moved it. And, there was a used bandaid on the padding where my hands/arms should go. I had to point it out- they removed it and put a towel over the area as they usually do but did not sanitize the area where the bandaid was first. read more

Love this nail salon!! I went a while ago and only getting around to writing this review now, but they did a fantastic job with my french tip gel manicure. I miss these nails so much :') They lasted so long; even after growing out they never chipped. The prices here are super reasonable and the service here is excellent. I was honestly so impressed by this salon and the amount of care they took in my nails! This is definitely going to be a go to spot for me :) I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my fiancé to get a pedicure :) we both got seated next to each other pretty much immediately. They take Covid precautions and have really nice employees! For $35, you get everything in a pedicure! Nail cleaning, hot stone massage, paraffin wax, and more! I've been going to this place since they opened a few years back. I always get a gel manicure and pedicure and even though I can go anywhere, it's the staff that keeps me coming back. They are very friendly and welcoming. I always get my manicures done by Lynn and she knows exactly what I want and how I want my nails done. My nails are getting stronger and growing faster since I've started going to Lynn partly because of the care she takes. Michelle, who runs the place, is soft spoken but does a great job of accommodating customers. The owner is generally not around but when she is, she is a pleasure to deal with, always genuinely smiling and happy to see you. They don't try to hurry you out of there or worse, book a time and then keep you waiting even if you are on time. There were a couple of people there who did not do my pedicures well and when I called back to book my next appointment, they remembered not to schedule me with those ladies! I have never tried to just show up and I generally go late week or weekend in the afternoon and when I am there and if people show up without an appointment, there may be a short wait. This my go to place!! read more

Absolutely love this nail salon! I've been a loyal customer for four years now, and they consistently deliver excellent service. The women who work here are truly skilled and so friendly. Amy and Kasey are both fantastic - they always do a wonderful job and pay such close attention to detail. Plus, the massages included with the service are a treat. I am always impressed how Amy and Kasey work wonders even when my nails are in rough shape and always manage to make them look fantastic. Beyond the amazing technicians, the chairs are comfortable. This is my go to nail salon. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. They use autoclaved tools for every customer. This salon is always clean and that is huge for me. Today Amy did my Pedi and WOW! Amazing. Everything was awesome. Michelle did my mani and her massage is literally the best! It also won't break your bank to come here. They don't try to upsell you. I got a manicure and pedicure recently. I've been coming here for a long time, but I think it might be time to start looking for a new place. First, during my pedicure, the technician kept texting and didn't seem very focused on the service. Second, the manicurist seemed to be a new male technician, and he was very rough while removing my cuticles. He cut too much skin, and even today--the day after the service--I still have Neosporin on all my fingers. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere and learn through experience, but if I'm paying for a service, I don't think I should have to leave in pain or risk infection just to be understanding. read more

This is for several services... Amy did my Brazilian and nails. I have had many Brazilians before. Aimee is hands-down. The best Waxer I have ever had. She made it nearly painless and she is very clean and precise with her work. She really takes pride and what she does. My nails look amazing and she actually listened to me about how short I wanted them. Mary did my pedicure and took great care and making me feel like I was pampered. The great thing about Aimee is that she's here on Sundays. I will definitely be back. read more

I was looking for a budget-friendly place for my hair type since many shops charge $120+ for a haircut, and I'm a college student. What drew me to MC Salon was the google reviews about Wendy specializing in layered haircuts and used scissors to cut hair. I have previous trauma from a terrible cut where a person cut my hair dry with a razor... I waited for some time to post this review to cool off because I did not want to write an angry review. I first went to Wendy on 2/19, telling her that I wanted a trim, face framing layers, and physically showed her how much I wanted her to cut off. She was gentle and thorough with the hair wash and I liked the blow out style of my hair. I didn't expect her to cut my hair that short, but I was ok with short hair and my hair looked nice styled. She told me she ended up cutting more than usual since my hair was super thick (I wished she asked before). Anyways, I washed my hair 3 days later and noticed unevenness around the face framing layers. So I called if I can come back for a fix. I still liked my hair at this point, just needed a minor fix. There was one thing I did not like about the first visit is that Wendy kept commenting how dry my hair was and told me I should use hair masks. I told her at the beginning of the appointment that I washed my hair at my boyfriend's place and didn't have access to my hair products-- that's why it was dry. Even though I told her that, she still made comments on the dryness throughout the process. I ignored the comments since Wendy was nice and we had a pleasant conversation throughout. Going back for a 2nd cut is where things went wrong. When I showed Wendy pictures of the unevenness, she said it was because my hair was parted differently. I guess my natural middle part is off centered, so when she cut my hair, she split in the middle evenly. I'm not sure if that's the true reason, but it sounds plausible. It's just strange because I had this parting for 6 years and never experienced this unevenness for face framing. Wendy went to fix my hair following my natural part and also fixed other parts of my hair to be even. She also offered to style it, which I thought was nice. She only lightly styled it and when I saw my hair I thought it was ok looking, but didn't say anything because I didn't want her to cut more hair. When I got into my car to get a closer look, thats when I noticed how much hair she cut, how choppy, & unblended it was.... Clearly it was not face framing layers and she made my bangs SUPER thick. This is when I started to relive my hair trauma and became emotional. I instantly called off work to go somewhere else to fix my hair because I hated my hair so much. The person couldn't do much since my hair was so short and she took pictures of my hair to show it was still uneven. She tried to make it as blended as possible. This experience damaged my self esteem to the point where I had to style my hair every single day or else it would look choppy. Now I have lot of hair damage again. Now that my hair is a bit longer, I no longer style my hair everyday. I just wished Wendy took more accountability instead of blaming it on my natural hair parting. I still don't understand why she cut so much hair the 2nd time. The pictures explain my situation and I will not come back. The cut was $65 and I tipped $10, so I spent $75 on this hair. I think if you have natural pin straight hair or thinner hair, MC Salon may be for you. But for super thick, coarse that is dry with some texture, MC Salon is not for you. I regret my decision and wished I splurged on a higher end salon. I'm only giving this place 2 stars, which is very generous, because of the pleasant experience I had on my first visit. Please note that I did not ask for a refund because I think place still deserves business, just not from me.

Ani does a great job of cleansing, exfoliating, blackhead extractions and minimizing the appearance of pores. She always starts on time, educates me on my skin and how to care for it. She never pushes products or services on me. If she feels that my skin can benefit from a specific treatment she will ask if I'm interested in hearing about it and then she informs me. She's very professional and priced nicely (not overly expensive but very reasonably). I tried eyelash extensions today. So far, I love how they look; very natural and full.

That's not her fault; the owner of Mint Salon won't allow her to take walk-ins, which I personally find really weird considering Mina is an independent renter just trying to grow her business. The results are top notch. As always, I chose gel and got a nice sparkly autumn red. My manicure was nice, though I never get color. I did get paraffin and a hot stone massage and my hands and arms are still thanking me. I might even get a gift basket! Finally, I got a brow waxing and that was well done, also. A clean line that I a perfectly happy with. Julie did my nails and Lynn my waxing. So why 4 stars and not 5? The location is clean and bright but simple. If you require elegance, this might not be the place. But, if quality beats ambiance and service trumps frills, this is perfect. I will certainly return.
