LOVED IT!! While in Disney Springs I decided to have dinner here. I didn't regret my decision. I LOVED IT!! I ordered the Shark Water non-alcoholic drink it was great. I ordered the spinach dip appetizer and the shrimp bowl entree both were DELICIOUS!! The food portions are huge and even though I didn't have room for dessert I saw their huge sizes as well. My server, Carlos, was very nice and welcoming. Carlos was extremely busy but I could see him constantly looking my way to make sure I was ok. Don't let the noise level bother you the food and service more than make up for it plus it's entertaining. I'll definitely dine here again! read more

Dang...after years of being excellent T Rex finally lost its way. The warning sign was when sides of fries were changed out for cheaper chips...then the fries became an up charge...then the up charged fry portion size was cut in half...but I still kept going. Now there have been ingredient changes across the board. The hamburger buns were changed out for a cheaper alternative. The pickles were changed. The burger blend was changed. What used to be one of the best burgers on property was swapped out for something that no longer stands out from its competition. This is no longer the gem of a restaurant and a must-do spot. It breaks my heart, but after well over 10 years of patronage, I'll likely not be returning...there are too many superior places to visit within Disney Springs To be clear, service is not where the problem lies. I've always had wonderful servers here, and our server during our last visit was deeply apologetic about the quality change. We couldn't track down a manager to have the conversation in person, and when we were referenced to their website to share our feedback the web form was broken as well. One star and I gonna explain why. My daughter graduated from vpk today, we were Going to another restaurant but their friends would go to t-rex, so we arrived here, 36 and they split us into 6 tables, ok! Kids were having good moments, I ordered a beer and arrived 25 minutes later than the first beer another father order. That's fine too, we were in a huge group. Food was really good, I ordered my second beer that never come, so I asked about my beer. When my check come, had 5 dollars extra charge as a mushroom pizza topping (that was 0,99 cents on menu) and 3 beers, I just had 2 I said to our waiter RAFAEL that I just had 2 beers, one Floridian and one hazy ipa and he started shouting I had 3. So another waitress come and said, no, he just had 2 beers we missed one. After spending the week at Disney for a conference, decided to bop over to Disney Springs before heading home. Walking around at lunch time, we were trying to figure out what to have for lunch. I kept telling my friend, I'm just hungry, it really makes no difference to me where we go, as long as they have food. We ended up at T-Rex. Would this have ever been a choice for me? Absolutely not. But was the food good? I certainly liked what I had. I ended up getting a grain bowl with chicken and had a flashy margarita. It's a lot of kitsch and clearly for kids/families, but I couldn't complain about the meal I had. The one thing I was slightly disappointed in was the amount of time it took our bill to be run. We set our card out right away and we still sat for about 20 minutes before it was ran. If you can handle a little dinosaur crazy with kids, T-Rex is overall not too shabby. read more

I met up with some family for lunch in Disney Springs today since they were just in town for the weekend to visit the parks. My dad & sister wanted to take my son & nephew to the T-Rex Cafe since they're both in their dino-loving era right now. In all the years I have lived in Orlando, I've not once dined here. The themed ambience is pretty cool and the little ones loved it! The entire place is completely decked out with animatronic dinosaurs, light shows, sound effects, and wall to wall decor. My son (almost 2 yrs old) was in awe and just kept pointing at everything saying wowwwww. To be honest, I did not have high expectations for the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. I went with the Sunset Isle Salmon which is a grilled salmon fillet served over an orzo pasta with zucchini, bell peppers, olives, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, and feta. The salmon was very tasty and cooked perfectly. It was on the pricier side ($36.99) but was a very generous portion - enough for two meals. My family also ordered the Boneyard Buffet (rotisserie chicken, St. Louis style spareribs, fries, & coleslaw), the coconut shrimp, BBQ bacon cheeseburger, and kids mac & cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was more than enough food. The service was a bit slow with so many tables and a very crowded restaurant, but our server was extremely friendly and accommodating even if things took a bit longer than expected. I highly suggest having your party be ready to order when they first greet your table if possible. Also just a note that stroller parking is outside of the restaurant (as with most DS restaurants). read more

The atmosphere is incredible, especially if you're a dinosaur enthusiast. There are many Carnivore and Omnivore options. Herbivores, the vegan type, not so much. Vegetarian Herbivores have decent options. The foods looked good, and is good, according to my family. The restaurant is expensive, but it's worth the experience. There is plenty of parking, the restaurant is located in Disney Springs. If you park in the Lime garage you'll be close. Overall, I can't wait to go back. read more

There was even a section where they were able to dig for bones. The kids were definitely impressed. The kids food was ok for kids food but we were pleasantly surprised by how good the adult food was. 5 Star across the board! Nikoll was our server and took great care of us. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The portions were also large. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and upgraded to Fries. My wife had the Cobb salad and my daughter had the mozzarella sticks with Dino-chicken. All the food was fresh, hot and well presented. The place was extremely busy and we were told that it would be an hour waiting, but after 10 minutes they called us for our table. Found in Disney Springs, T-Rex is the Rainforest Cafe with dinosaurs. It's tough to visit without a (very) advance reservation. Inside is dimmed with lighting made for a dino to roam and periodically a few of them come alive to roar. You come for the experience versus the basic food. The gift shop is fun to browse even without a reservation. If your kid (or you) are dinosaur fans there's plenty to choose from, including a "build your own dino" plus outfits. read more

We were so excited to find a T-Rex Cafe in Orlando--years ago there was one in Kansas City, and I used to take my kids there, so it felt really special to experience it again with them after all this time. The place itself is awesome--such a fun, immersive dining experience that kids absolutely love. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away! The food was okay, but the service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. My son loves dinosaurs so we brought him for his birthday dinner and he absolutely loved this restaurant. There's a little souvenir shop in the entrance. The hostesses were very friendly. I suggest you make a reservation but they do accept walk ins. It's in Disney springs so it's in a great location. The restaurant is amazing, with surrounding life sized dinosaurs and different themed rooms. They also have a meteor show every 15 mins which is pretty cool. The food was pretty delicious! I booked a reservation a few days before. I had always wanted to try it but the wait is usually long. We were traveling with 2 little boys and thought it would be a hit - IT WAS. It's basically Rainforest Cafe but Dinosaur version. The decor and interactive meteor showers are amazing. The 5 & 6 year old boys in our group loved it. We loved it. Taryn, our waitress, was GREAT. I'm a sucker for a good themed restaurant, and this one absolutely delivered. The theme starts outside and continues throughout the entire restaurant. Inside you'll find moving dinosaur statues, jungle scenery, and periodic meteor showers, complete with flashing lights and animal sound effects. The food was also pretty good, although definitely a bit overpriced. I ordered a three-seafood special that included coconut shrimp, crab and shrimp au gratin, and tilapia. It was very heavy on garlic but still pretty good and a giant portion... which when traveling isn't always good. The Baseline: For a sit down semi-casual restaurant is the quality of the food, existence of any unique offerings, quality of the service, and value of the overall dining experience. Food: The food is pretty decent/good and overall is not amazing but you are really coming here for experience over food. We got the nachos, Prehistoric Pasta, and the Brontosaurus burger. The nachos were big and would service a group well but are comparable to bar/casual restaurant nachos. The pasta is the same that it is comparable to what you would get at a casual restaurant but the portion size was a good size. The burger was better than average and was a double patty. The fries that came with the burger were "bag fries" but were well cooked. The drinks were really nice though even though they were not hand crafted cocktails they were tasty and fit the theme of the restaurant. Service: Considering how busy these servers are we had great service. I had to flag our server down but she was managing a bunch of tables. Good service when we came. Ambiance: This is the reason you dine at this restaurant. Animatronic dinosaurs and prehistoric mammoths. There is a Jurassic storm that happens every 15 or so minutes. The fun theme makes the experience fun. We ran into probably 7 birthday songs when we were there which is fun for the kids. It is definitely touristy but you are usually a tourist if you are at Disney Springs. read more

As a huge dinosaur nerd, I've been coming here since I was a kid. The food has always been amazing, though the menu's become a little more limited. They do have a rotating menu, though. It's extremely loud and busy, but a terrific interesting and informative place to bring your kids for an unforgettable experience! It can be a bit overstimulating for some, but I'd highly recommend you give them a visit. Pretty cool. We had a great experience at T-Rex Cafe. We went there with a party of 24 and all of us sat together to experience this unique moment. The server was friendly and took care of us right away. This place gets busy and the food took longer to arrive. My son was little scared of the dinosaur noises at first and he got used to it. If you are visiting Disney world/disney springs. T-Rex Cafe has been one of the mainstays among themed restaurants located at Disney Springs for quite a while. While the atmosphere and ambiance are sure to be a hit amongst kids, it's something unique for adults who are young at heart as well. Each room inside has a slightly different color scheme and theming with dinosaur animatronics, and meteor shower experience every 15-20 minutes. That said, the food isn't gourmet and overpriced by about 15-30% (which is in-line with most other Disney Springs food outlets). We went with a cup of soup, flatbread, burger, and chicken sandwich. The tomato soup, Caprese flatbread, and bronto burger were all pretty average (3/5). While they did the job of filling us up, we've had much better. The bronto burger seemed a bit dry, but the accompanying fries were decent. The Paleozoic chicken sandwich (4/5) was the best of the meals with a decent cut of panko-breaded chicken topped with some greens. The theming and ambiance (4.5/5) were the star of the show, as you are seemingly transported into a cool atmosphere unique from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Disney Springs. While we probably wouldn't return for the food, we're glad to have had the T-Rex Cafe experience once. read more

If you've ever been to the rainforest cafe this is definitely a similar vibe. They do a meteor shower every 20 min where all the animals come to life. We went for a late lunch and didn't have to wait long at all. I ordered the lava flow which is basically a piña colada with strawberry, it was super tasty. I could of drank it all in one shot if I wanted to. My pasta came with garlic bread and wow that bread was delicious I wish I had more of it read more

Alright so... concept is super cool.. different dino themed areas, sound effects etc (similar to rainforest cafe style) the service was great, food was decent- we just got some apps and a dessert to share before heading out to shop. I could only give 3 stars because it was FREEZING inside and extremely loud. Now I don't mind loud environments at all (of any kind, kids, people idc) but this place was LOUD in general and on top of that it was total chaos. If Rainforest Cafe and Build-A-Bear teamed up and wanted to make a restaurant to target dinosaur kids, then you would have this. It's a good concept, but a restaurant themed after a franchise that belongs to another studio. I see other people claiming that this is Rainforest Cafe, or was, but there already is one of those mere footsteps away. Actually, they are just sister properties, owned by the same company. So we see where this is going, they just added a Build-A-Bear to their gift shop. When I was looking for a place to eat one of my night's strolling around Disney Springs, I had looked at many menus outside of restaurants and walked all over the place. I was nearing the exit and looked at the menu here. I decided that this would be a great place to eat and got in line. I waited my turn until I reached the hostess stand and said I was dining alone. When I heard it would be an hour wait, I was like no way. But before walking away I had the sense to ask if that applied to the bar area, seeing a sign saying they have seating at the bar if you walked in. I was told that I could try the bar or wait an hour. I do have to say the girl they had working the host stand could have had better manners. I know it's not the easiest job to do, having to deal with all those people, but a little kindness doesn't hurt. I walked in, towards the bar, and walked right up to a seat. Someone, or a group, must have just left, they were wiping down the bar top and I was in my seat. Menu in hand, drink order taken, I was left to make it look like I was reading over the menu when I had already decided what I was having from my glance outside. Order placed, I was able to take in the area. Prehistoric themed where you are on a volcanic island. Majority of the seating is on the island/coral reef area, think warm colors. Animatronics of dinosaurs dot the restaurant. The bar area is more of the prehistoric sea, think cooler colors. You will notice the gigantic octopus and many aquariums around this area. The bar top kind of looks like and ice sheet, or maybe it is suppose to depict water, but it is a long and wide bar top. Customer service here is amazing. The bartenders were a gem to work with here. They were entertaining as well as being entertained by the customers. They checked on me multiple times throughout the meal and were really prompt with refills. I didn't go with an appetizer here, because of what I saw on the menu. I went with the Meteor Meatloaf. This thing is massive. And it comes with sides. red skinned mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I asked what the seasonal vegetables were, a mix of things I wasn't in the mod for. I asked if it was weird to ask for a double side of the mashed and was reassured it wasn't a weird ask. When this thing showed up on the platter, I was in for it. The meatloaf was covered in barbecue sauce and topped with fried onion rings. All that on the bed of double mash. The best way to eat this is to get a little bit of everything in one bite. The flavors marry so well and you'll be grateful you did. Only downside, it was a little onion heavy on the inside of the meatloaf. Make sure you bring some gum or breath mints afterwards. I checked out the store before leaving. Thought about getting another shirt, but convinced myself not to, but there is always online ordering for that. I stayed away from the build a bear section. I wanted to check and see if the host was at the station on my way out to hopefully wipe the smug look off her face, but she was gone by then. read more

TRex Cafe, like Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood and the rest, is more about the experience than the food really and when you're with a toddler a place with dino nuggets is an easy choice. And the appetizer sampler is a pretty good deal for 2 adults. Order water and you can get out without spending too much for Disney. The wait times can get long (again, dino nuggets), but use the Disney app or get there early to get your name down and then you can wander around Disney Springs for a bit. read more

Update: came back last week to celebrate my nephew's birthday. Kids really do love a dinosaur cafe. We had better seating this time to watch the meteor shower and our server Nicole was phenomenal, but that's about where the good things end. The crust of my flatbread was giving more of a cracker than dough and unfortunately my sister got sick later that night which we attribute to the fried shrimp she ordered. I looked and found others had some similar issues after eating where I really don't think we'll be back again. read more

We didn't make a reservation so we just put our name on the waitlist and it would have taken us over 40 minutes but we were able to find a seat at the bar. The bartender was super nice and tried to get our orders and food out as quick as possible but there were so many customers to staff so things took a bit longer. I wasn't too hungry so I just ordered the tomato soup and it was so incredibly salty that I just took a few bites and left it. This is the restaurant where we would take our family for a great dinner experience. The food was good the dinosaurs were really cool. Now it has just gone downhill. Went there for Father's Day and our server was really outstanding but the food was average to slightly below average. Wife ordered a steak dish that was undercooked, I had the pork chop special that was good but disappointing compared to the picture on the menu which made it look bigger. And I could understand if it was a steak with the price of beef, but it was a pork chop. Full bar inside around the fish tank was really cool, so definitely also a cool place to come. Have a drink if you don't have the kids. Overall the food was pretty mid though... We have a party of seven and we had everything from kids food to pizza. The protein bowls to a burger and nothing really stood out. Cool idea to maybe buy something branded to T-Rex Cafe but all the other gadgets that they have here are literally double the price.. my son absolutely lost his mind when he saw a wolf crawling lizard so we had to buy it. When we got up front to pay we saw that it was actually 50 bucks... When I looked on Amazon it was $22.95. T-Rex, a Landry's restaurant, has a cool dinosaur environment vibe inside the restaurant. The food is like a copy of Rainforest Cafe, which I don't mind, but the food quality when we went last was so-so. We decided to give Rainforest a break and go to T-Rex, our second time there. The wait wasn't bad - estimated 30 min wait (even as a Landry's member), but only waited about 15 mins. Staff was (and has always been) very nice. The best part is that it is allergy friendly for peanut and treenut allergies which my children have. The experience was okay, the server was very busy so we understand. I would still eat here again, but out of the two or three times we've gone to T-Rex, this wasn't the best visit for us. read more

Being on Disney Springs I would expect better. Heck, I would rather go across the water walkway and go to Rainforest instead. The idea is cool for kids who like dinos, but they have crammed SO MANY seats in here that it feels like you're sitting on top of other families. The food doesn't do much for me, its just like any other chain restaurant, but priced like its something gourmet. Spoiler: its NOT gourmet! There are literally 10 better restaurants within walking distance on Springs, some of them are even quick service! My biggest issue is that they have a no stroller policy, which obviously makes sense based on how tight the tables are, but its for kids. . .what happens when one of them falls asleep? or you have an infant? No dino in there was good enough to make up for the lackluster-ness of this venue. Don't do it. read more
