Best gratons on the northshore- right texture and spice level... Smoked boudin was delicious.

When I return, I think i will try the standard boudin sausage and maybe the boudin balls.

He travels between Louisiana and Mississippi with his food truck, and every time I've seen him, there's been a long line. I arrived around 10:50 a.m. for the 11:00 opening, and there were already 60-70 people ahead of me. Even with that crowd, the line moved efficiently. I had my food by about 11:40, which I thought was a very reasonable wait considering how busy they were. Once you placed your order, they were calling names within just a few minutes. The staff seemed organized and kept things moving. I ordered one of the crab special, which advertised as including two eggs. I was actually really looking forward to them--I had even texted my partner beforehand asking if we should order extra eggs! Unfortunately, when I got my order, there weren't any eggs included. It did come with extra crab clusters, so maybe that was meant as a substitute, but I would have preferred the meal to match the menu. I also paid for two extra cups of butter but only received one. As for the food itself, the flavor was good, though not something I'd personally crave often. I also wish there had been spice level options since I enjoy my seafood much spicier. I understand it's a food truck, so there are naturally some limitations. I also hung around in the area and noticed they were still serving an hour plus after I got my order- with only 5-7 people in line. That being said- they had plenty, so no need to be there right at opening... Overall, I had a positive experience. The service was efficient, the operation was well-run, and despite a couple of missing items, I'd still recommend giving The Crab Man a try. Just be sure to double-check your order before you leave.

It may seem to look spicy but it really wasn't, I was expecting more of a kick. We still really enjoyed this. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were absolutely delicious and probably the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had! For drinks, we tried the Hot Honey Margarita and Blood Orange Mezcal, and both were extremely flavorful and beautifully presented. The aesthetic was unmatched. My daughter had the kids' cheese pizza and was very happy with it as well. For our entrées, we went with the pistachio crusted salmon and the steak with crawfish cream sauce and fries, and both were exceptional. We also had to try the Blueberry 75 since French 75s are my absolute favorite, and it did not disappoint! Our waitress, Jillian, truly took the experience to the next level. She was incredibly sweet and attentive, and every recommendation she gave us was spot on. Overall, 10/10 experience! Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, great cocktails, and even better service. 100% recommend and definitely a must try in Covington! We will absolutely be back.

We arrived at 5:40pm and told them 7 people and were told about 40 minutes so we sat at the bar and grabbed a few drinks, waited about 40 minutes are were seated.. perfect timing. Now this is where things start to fall apart.. we sat and waited about 5 minutes for someone to show up and take drink orders and I thought should put in appetizers just in case it takes them awhile to return. A few drinks stumbled out and then appetizers came and the a few minutes later more of the drinks.. weird. Finally we ordered our entrees and while waiting finished our appetizers and then no one came and cleared the table, water was empty, drinks were low appetizer plates and appetizers vessels still on table. And wait for it... here come the entrees.. and they are placing them around an already full table.. was there no dishwashers so they didn't want to take plates back to be washed??? I put about 4 plates where my entree should have gone and they pushed the entree plate next to it and I had to ask them o remove the other plates. I feel like this is too long already.. the food? Tasted odd like it had an odd flavor I ordered the Truffle Butter Steak and it was about the size of my hand and cut in strips with onions rings on top and a small bowl of fries... for $35.00. My stunning wife orders the Shrimp fried rice and she was not impressed I tasted it and it was mushy with small shrimp. Oh I liked the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer that is the reason for the two stars. Bill came and I paid for seven of us and looked the bill and it was $381.00 with drinks no one told me the gratuity was one there already and stupid me did not look and gave them another $80.00 on top of the $60.00 on the bill yep $140.00 for horrible service.. and okay food. If you all read my reviews I honestly try to be fair and hope people have off days.. I am regretting having spent nearly $500.00 on this night

They were very attentive and on top of everything. The drink order was taken promptly and surprisingly a very quick turnaround considering how busy they were. I had an old fashioned and my wife had a lemon basil martini. You would think that I would learn by now that what ever the locals use as a syrup for the old fashioned I don't care for. As much as I like them I continue to try them at various restaurants and eventually I will find a watering hole that I like. Now as for the martini it was magnificent. I'm not a vodka person but this is definitely worth a try. It was light and refreshing with the perfect balance of basil and lemon. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was done just right, and if you like calamari then you know what I mean. For dinner my wife and I shared the Blackened Redfish LaFourche. It was delicious. We had a table near the front of the restaurant overlooking lake ponchatrain. We were able to see the sunset and then the distant lights over the horizon. Very nice. When it comes to parking it's ALWAYS difficult when you are visiting any of the businesses on the lake front and don't get me started on the lack of handicap spots let alone their poor condition. Overall we would recommend this place.

The new building and store is amazing. Why am I sad? Because I loved the small place they had before (across the street). It's impossible to get something you don't enjoy. A huge congrats and blessing to the owners at their new location. It's a casual, fun eatery with great food. Guaranteed!

Food finally brought out as they realize they messed up. No apology or appetizer or discount offered but ok if the food is good my family and I will be ok. My take on the food, we had cup of seafood gumbo and friend shrimp n catfish. Catfish had a lot of silver belly skin still on it with no seasoning. The shrimp not many on platter and no seasoning. When I say no seasoning there wasn't even salt on it. The seafood gumbo had a watery okra flavor no seasoning. Wife had potato salad which is white and it was okay but it ruined her stomach afterwards the reason I know? She was the only one who ate it. Looking at the customers inside, it looks like a good place for the elders and senior citizens maybe that's why they don't know what seasoning or salt is. We wont be back and if ponchatrain was open it would be my first choice. Next time I will fight the crowd and go to New Orleans seafood n spirits.
