I took one bite of that "boudin" and threw that in the long grass. The boudin balls are just little mush balls. That ain't Cajun bruh.

We were starting our drive back to Michigan and quickly looked up where to get boudin & cracklin' to bring home with us. We were happy to see Ronnie's popped up and had great reviews. We tried Boudin Balls that were stuffed (with cheese) and the regular. They were both outstanding but I'd say maybe the ones without cheese were better. It's hard to say because they were both very good. The smoked boudin was better in my opinion only because the casing dries out a bit it makes it crispy so we of course just ate it whole. The regular boudin has a casing that isn't crispy so we chose to just eat the filling. The inside was just as good as the smoked. We only tried the chicken cracklin's and holy cow were they good! Some pieces were real crispy while others were a bit bigger and still had some meat on them. There was a perfect mix up large and small pieces, crispy and not crispy pieces. I wish we had these in Michigan. We brought home some andouille so we could make jambalaya and gumbo. We just cooked some andouille, and it was a little bit spicy and so good. We also brought home some boudin and can't wait to cook that. Be sure to check out their freezer section and take home some different things. This place was such a gem to find! The staff was very friendly and helped us make decisions on exactly what we needed to try since we had never been before. There is seating inside if you're looking to eat there. We just ordered things we could eat on our road trip home as well as things to cook/eat later. I'm only complaint was that the bathroom was not very clean and the toilet didn't flush. That doesn't matter much because you should really be going here for the food! :) read more

We went on a Thursday and my wife got the special. She said the chicken was dry but the sides were amazing. I got the Boudin Balls with pepper jack cheese. They were great. 10/10 We split an order of mini crawfish pies 8/10. The crawfish eggroll was ok. 7/10 but wouldn't get again. My daughter got the pulled pork poboy and it was 9/10. I'm just done with Ronnie's. I've been going here for many many years, and I've watched their food quality and service decline while their prices skyrocket. Their cracklins used to be the best around. 5 years ago, they were $13.99/lb for fresh, hot, delicious pieces of pork belly. Now you pay an astronomical $23.99/lb for sawdust, gravel, and a few pork skins that have been sitting under the heat lamp for days. I know this because I gave them one last chance & went early early in the morning to get the freshest possible & they were garbage. They don't even put bacon strips on their bacon egg cheese breakfast sandwich anymore. It's just a little pile of bacon crumbs right in the middle of the bread. The people who work there act like they hate the customers & make you feel like you're bothering them by placing your order. They're not knowledgeable about the menu. He suggested we stop here and I'm glad we did. Ronnie's is typical of many south Louisiana meat markets. There is a refrigerated and frozen section where you can pick up boudin to go. There is also a hot counter and some tables for dine in. Before I go any further I have to let you know something important. For a long time I thought boudin balls were bullshit. Boudin? Awesome. Smoked boudin? Awesomer. Boudin balls? Bullshit. Chicken cracklin is also bullshit, but we can save that for another time. So despite me going on that exact rant to my buddy, he insisted on ordering boudin balls and had me try one. Holy hell man! The boudin balls here are absolutely legit. I cannot believe I am saying this, but they were actually good. Get you some. In addition to the boudin balls, we each had a steak poboy. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty darn good. It was better than any philly sandwich you could get anywhere. Oh yeah, those are usually bullshit too. Stopped by here for some Cajun food on my road trip. We got the smoked boudins, chicken cracklin, pork cracklin, boudin egg rolls, boudin balls, and crawfish egg roll. My favorite is the chicken cracklin. First time trying boudin and it was delicious. They did a great job with the seasoning. I also like the gooey texture of the boudin, really helped coat the tongue with all the flavor. With the boudin balls and egg rolls, I enjoyed the different textures, crispy outside and gooey inside. Small place of the highway. It is but a truck fuel station. Nice folks inside. Great cracklin. Food was good. Had a shrimp pot boy. Bought some supplies here also. Service was good. Driving through Hammond and was in the mood for some Boudin. Its had to find good boudin in New Orleans so i Googled it and Ronnie's Boudin & Cracklings poped up. When you walk in tge smell of smoked meats hits you in the face. Its gets your appetite ready for what's up ahead. I ordered 9 stuffed boudin balls stuffed w pepper jack cheese & some of their delicious crack Mac and cheese which was all hot and delicious. They also have a yummy selection of poboys but ill have to attempt that on another trip. The customer service was very friendly and informative too. Stopped in here to get some hot cracklin's and some boudin! I got some boudin balls from the cooler, and managed to find tiger sausage! Rowr! This place has quite the variety of different styles of boudin- including smoked boudin which was amazing! The cracklin's were spiced perfectly, and the sausage was all terrific! The shop also offers poboys and other food, but I was just looking for stuff to go, and found the jackpot! They have such a great variety of things ready shrink wrapped or packaged for your cooler. We even got to sample their award winning smoked boudin and regular boudin! A place that stands behind the great taste of their product is an A+++ in my book! When I lived in Baton Rouge Ronnie's was a staple. This is obviously not the Baton Rouge location, but Ronnie's is synonymous with quality. Fantastic boudin, amazing cracklins (and no, Pork Rinds are NOT cracklin's, not even close. Cracklins don't come in a cellophane bag even when advertised as cracklins). And the miniature crawfish pies! 3 for $2.99. Amazing little morsels of flavor. We brought some of the crawfish boudin back to Milwaukee to cook up and feast upon. Service is super friendly. Finally!! The geniuses at Ronnie's have created Keto-friendly boudin made with cauliflower rice rather than the traditional white rice. Since I was passing by I grabbed some of the plain Keto boudin as well as the smoked. To top it off, I got a pound of cracklins, meat sticks and pork tasso. I passed by here on a road trip with my parents as I'm moving from Philadelphia back to Texas. We were looking for some local flavor that was quick and right off the highway and I found this place on Yelp. Let me tell you, Ronnie's did not disappoint! Each of us got a Ronnie's Special Poboy and we got a bag of cracklins to share. Each of us have pretty different tastes - my dad prefers lots of meat, my mom pays attention to flavor details, and I'm a bottomless pit who eats anything. The Ronnie's Special and cracklins made all of our bellies happy. Best meal we've had this whole road trip! The employees were very friendly and the food came out fresh and fast!
