The owners both greeted us and invited us to "explore and enjoy" the grounds and to let them know if we had any questions or needed any help. There are a couple four-wheeled carts around to help you shop. The indoor section features wall art and other unique finds/gifts. Currently you don't need a mask to enjoy the outdoor areas, but you are asked to mask up for inside. =)

Since Carnivero did not participate in the event, we decided to make the trip to their nursery to see what they had available. Just like our first previous visit, we thoroughly enjoyed browsing their impressive selection of carnivorous plants. We were amazed by how healthy, vibrant, and beautiful all of their plants looked. I completely lost track of time while carefully admiring and inspecting their fascinating collection of exotic carnivorous plants. During our visit, I picked up a tiny Tillandsia, commonly known as an air plant or sky plant. This evergreen flowering plant is incredibly low-maintenance, absorbing moisture and nutrients from the air, making it an easy and interesting addition to any plant collection. Overall, it was another satisfying visit to Carnevero. We enjoyed admiring the wide variety of exotic and new plants they have for sale. It is always worth the drive to this hidden gem outside the Austin area.

I didn't, having never done so for any other Living Social deal, but this location of Garden-Ville doesn't "have the scanners and equipment to redeem" from a smart phone. To which I said, "Well, I wish you'd have mentioned that when I called half an hour ago." You shouldn't even need such equipment - the employee just didn't know what to do. So I drove home empty-handed, having wasted an hour (and 30 miles). I'd just hoped for a nice drive and to check out a different garden shop. But this place isn't a garden shop, it's only really set up for dealing with contractors and wholesale operations, not individuals. Again, I wish their web page or the LivingSocial deal had made that clear. So, 1-star experience. However, the price list looks promising. And the just-learned fact that Garden-Ville is the composting and recycling component of Texas Disposal Systems is redeeming.

They sell everything from fill soil to compost to rocks. My first problem is that my truck is just a 90's mini truck. They don't sell soil by the half yard. I tried putting a yard of their Superior Soil in my truck and about a half yard in, the truck couldn't take any more. The guy was cool enough to stop filling the truck and he charged for about a half yard. Would be nice if I could just get a half yard. My second problem is that their products aren't exactly the greatest. The Superior Soil was acceptable I suppose. I'm used to getting Revitalizer from Natural Gardener, and Gardenville's Superior comes up short in comparison. They did have a decent deal recently on shredded mulch and the mulch was fine. The location has been paring down their offerings. They had a crazy sale to liquidate all of their pots. Now they're selling all of their tools. Not sure if they're focusing on the bulk business or what.

I brought in a small chunk of the thickness I needed to avoid confusion knowing that I would need to drive around to the lumber yard to have it loaded. The Lumberyard loaded up a sheet that was obviously the wrong size--too thin. I tried to be specific about the size I need at the register but a mistake was made. That's okay. I left the lumber yard, went back inside to "return" the plywood and pay the difference for the size I had asked for. Jessie, the manager was extremely helpful though the whole visit. He's a good man. Then I drove back into the lumber yard and had the new sheet loaded. It wasn't till I got home that I realized it was warped badly. I went back to the store and spoke with Jessie--He told me they would make it right and asked me to drive back around to exchange it. I pulled into the lumberyard and was approached by a different fork lift man. I explained that the sheet was warped and I wanted a flat one. He questioned whether I had bought the sheet at McCoys. Then he scolded me saying, "Why did you take it?!" Then he drove off. Life is too short for this kind of nonsense. I'm not going back. From now on I'm a Home Depot man.

Sure wish the people were friendlier and cared more about helping the customer. Oh well that's kind of the way the world is these days! I bought a good amount of merchandise but something i took home did not work and had to return it. This return didn't work in my favor, turns out the customer is not as important as that extra dollar even if you are the one inconvenienced. That being said I still enjoy walking around the inside of this store.

Nick went above and beyond to help me and is so so knowledgeable!! The warranty offered is definitely worth it--we highly recommend opting for it for peace of mind. Our arborist, Martin, who comes out to check on the palm, has also been absolutely incredible! He took his time inspecting the tree, carefully pruning it, and showing genuine care and expertise every step of the way. Martin is not only knowledgeable, but also attentive and passionate about what he does, which really puts us at ease knowing our palm is in such good hands. We truly appreciate the outstanding service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the nursery and Martin. Their plants are expensive but they have the most beautiful large plants in town. A 20 yr old for the front and a smaller one for the back. The guys installing were awesome. Removed any roots from the previous tree, treated the soil before planting, leveled it out nicely. And they treated the smaller tree with as much care and concern as the larger. Cleaned up nicely once done. Couldn't be more pleased.
