Never returns calls or voicemails. No quote given and no response. I'll take my money elsewhere.

They have signs up that say they are closing (but there is also a "we're hiring" sign so not sure what the story is; no one on the staff talked to us while we were there). Why do go in? The selection is incredible. I always thought "Lamps PLUS" meant just plus-the-awesomeness, lamps only. No, the "plus" means they have other things - mirrors, tables, wall sculptures. We weren't exactly sure what was on sale - if it was everything and/or just the some things that had special clearance signs. The gigantic and amazing chandeliers, way out of our budget and way too big for our residence but SO gorgeous. The best deals in the store, imo, were the bathroom lights. Also, they have a very large selection of outdoor lights (like if you have a light in front of your door or flanking your garage).

If you want more detail, read on. I scheduled an appointment with this company three weeks before the install date. I provided in detail what I wanted for my home and my yard. I even texted and emailed pictures from the previous year. I informed it was a "straightforward job" and received a quote, via text. In the text, I was informed the yard lights would have to be assessed on the day of the install but would be anywhere from $75-$150 extra. Roger calls on the afternoon of the day of the install and tells me he needs to push it back to the next day due to being busy. Calling the afternoon of the day of the installation to cancel was unprofessional, yet I agreed to reschedule. The following day Roger calls after he has arrived at my home. He provided no notice he was on his way. I was not home but turned around and arrived home in less than ten minutes. Roger tells me he did not have any information on what the job was supposed to look like and never saw any pictures. This is silly as I texted it to the same phone number he had been calling and texting me from previously. I also emailed the pictures. If he didn't know what the job was supposed to look like it made no sense why his crew had already begun installing lights on my house, which I immediately informed him were the wrong color. I provided Roger with the SAME pictures I had already texted and emailed him. He stated he didn't have the multicolored lights I requested for a tree on the side of my home. Roger said, "I don't know, I could just wrap it in white lights or something." For this one skinny Juniper tree, which was approximately 12 feet high, he attempted to charge me $150 for ONE tree...with the WRONG lights. I was informed verbally and by text message (from his number) the lights in the yard would be $75-$150 total. Roger attempted to hustle me because his crew had already started the job. I instructed him to remove the lights and leave. In summary, Roger canceled on the afternoon of the install, arrived on the rescheduled date with no notice, started the job allegedly with no information and the wrong equipment, then tried to hustle me for more money on the spot. He didn't even take accountability for anything and tried to put it all on his employee, Angel. Don't bother with this guy.

There are plenty of options on their website, but I wanted some design help and advise. I called the Bellevue, WA showroom and spoke to Texiera. She was wonderful and made me feel like I had all of her attention for just a single lamp. She was knowledgeable and made a few suggestions after asking me questions about my place and my style. I ended up ordering a tripod studio light, which has become a statement piece when people come over. The lamp came in about a week, it was no Amazon prime 2-day delivery, but I'll take the personal attention and expertise over amazon any day. Plus on Amazon it can be hit and miss when you order something that could have been returned. A few months later, my ceiling fan's glass broke. I wasn't sure if North Coast could help me, but I called anyways. They walked me through potential replacement parts and options. I decided to go with a new fan since it was about 10 years old. Texiera recommend a three blade Modern forms fan. When I placed the order I was told it may take up to 4 weeks to receive our fan. We got it in less than a week. Our handy man came and put it together without any problems. I've gotten plenty of compliments on my fan and floor lamp in a short time. I wish they had a showroom in Southern California. I call Texiera because she is an expert when it comes to lighting and she has a background in interior design which I liked. Plus she is patient with my many questions. Without a doubt but I will order with north coast via phone order.

After decades of living in Bellevue, experiences like this remind me of why I don't miss living…read morehere. Seattle City Light shuttered their stores, and for good reason. Unlike the 80's or even the 90's you got more choices than Pay N Pak, for home improvement. From Eagle to Lowes and Home Depot, you can find just about all the lighting you would desire. I had about 30 minutes before a medical appointment across the street, so I decided to pull in to see what they offered for outside dusk to dawn lighting. I have three lights that were on my house when I bought it 16 years ago. A very nice-looking light, that I actually found while shopping at Costco about 11 years ago, so I am going to assumed they carried them for years. LED lights don't last forever, and one of the lights is flickering a lot and another is starting to flicker, so I decided it was time to replace all three. I didn't see any lights that met the description, so I asked one of the people up front and he confirmed, they don't keep those lights in stock. What kind of lighting store are you, when you don't keep all kinds of lighting in stock? Truth be told, I think the lighting section at my local Lowes is larger than this store, but if your goal is to put on a glossy show for Bellevue, I don't have faith in your ability to stay in business. He offered to show me lighting online, but I can do that myself and guess what, I'm checking Amazon, before I look at your site. I did see a fixture I liked while I was there, it was a light with a sign for your house number. It was also $1,300. You must be nuts, it was cool looking, but you could put that on sale for $350 and I'm still not buying it. All of this stuff is made overseas and the fact that you are selling it for a 10x markup might make you believe it's worth it, but I suspect contractors that drive up prices and people that believe they are too good for commercial lighting like Home Depot are the ones shopping here. I guess when you are next door to Albert Lee, you can get away with that, but my ex tried to talk me into getting appliances there and I told her, why would I pay $3,500 for a fridge Costco sells for $2,200. Her reply, because the neighbors shop there. I got the fridge and got rid of the girl. Well, only a fool pays retail and regardless of how nice the staff was, I refuse to overpay. I got 3 lights from Amazon for a total of $120. I don't think I saw a single light here for that price and I'd suspect if I returned, which I won't. I'd find the light I bought on Amazon for $40 here for at least $350.

Any estimate for the job? No - he couldn't even make an estimate. When I called Adam, he said they would send a more experienced tech. Why not send someone qualified the first time? What about the charge for showing up and not doing anything? "That's our normal fee?" So, will we be charged for a new estimate? "It's still $250 to show up." Really? I told him we didn't want them anymore and we would like at least a partial refund. He agreed to a refund of $125, but the refund didn't come. I called again and he said they had a miscommunication. I hired Rock Electric in April 2026 for a residential electrical job after being provided an…read moreestimate that included $350/hour for two technicians, plus $125 travel time with a 2-hour minimum, and an additional hour billed at $350. Only one technician, Don, actually performed work onsite. According to office manager Jacob, the second technician, Ace, was "running errands" and picking up supplies. The materials list consisted of 24 feet of #2 THHN, 12 feet of #4 THHN, and two switches. I was billed a flat $250 for materials with no breakdown whatsoever of what any of the items actually cost. What makes this even more frustrating is that the job had been scheduled three weeks in advance, yet Rock Electric still claimed they needed a technician running around at $150/hour to retrieve these basic materials. The scope of work included replacing conductors from strike to meter line side, troubleshooting the front porch light, replacing a bathroom outlet, troubleshooting an office light fixture/switch, and installing Ring doorbell transformer wiring. Not all of the work was even completed. The bathroom outlet replacement was never done, and although the Ring doorbell was connected to existing wiring, it still does not function properly and required further investigation. The job also required a disconnect/reconnect from Puget Sound Energy. Rock Electric charged me $890.63 including tax for this service, while the actual charge from Puget Sound Energy to Rock Electric was $595.95 including tax. When questioned about the difference, Rock Electric claimed that Puget Sound Energy rates "change daily," so they charge a set rate. This was never disclosed in the estimate. I requested a refund for the cost of the second technician who never actually worked onsite, as well as for the difference between what Rock Electric charged me for the disconnect/reconnect and what Puget Sound Energy actually charged them. Instead of addressing the concerns directly, Rock Electric responded with a mock invoice attempting to justify the charges and argue that using one technician supposedly would have cost even more than the two-technician rate. Their general manager Ben also left a voicemail trying to re-explain everything, but there is no reasonable explanation for charging $350/hour for two technicians while only providing one onsite, or for heavily marking up a third-party utility service they didn't even perform.
