Came on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30 pm and it wasn't too crowded. I tried their seasonal special of strawberry green tea with 50% sweet and 30% ice ($3.75). It was a bit too sweet still, but the strawberry flavor was spot on, especially with all the strawberry chunks inside. It was the perfect refreshing drink after a heavy lunch. My friend ordered the basil popcorn chicken ($5.25) a little bit later as a snack for us to munch on, and OH MY GOD it was so good! Neither of us were hungry, but we couldn't stop ourselves from finishing the whole order within minutes. The chicken is cut into small bite-sized pieces and fried perfectly with the right amount of salt and pepper seasoning. For just 5 bucks, there's a good amount of it too. If I was hungrier, I could've easily eaten a whole order to myself, but I'm glad I was sharing. This is a good spot to hang out for the afternoon with your friends over some boba and snacks. I placed a phone order and come to pick up. No one in line. I was the only in line waiting to pay for my order for about 5 mins. At least 3 staffs saw me but no one helps me check out. My friend introduced me to this boba place today. I ordered the grapefruit royal tea with boba. We also shared some popcorn chicken and a bowl of spicy beef noodles soup. My drink was pretty good and they actually filled up the drink to top when I requested no ice. The boba was sweet and chewy as well. I think my friend also enjoyed their drink. Popcorn chicken was yummy minus a little bit dry near the end. The noodles were good and according to my friend it had a little bit of slight sweetness to compliment spicy taste. I didn't notice until they pointed that out to me. We were also going to order the eggettes but that was too much food. According to my friend, it was something that we should definitely check out... Also, the oil seemed to be fresh and we didn't get a stomach ache afterwards. I guess Monday is the day to come for fried food! 3 stars for their "Kyoto Green Tea Latte" with regular sweetness and no ice, this drink is also known as "Matcha Fresh Milk" (which they label on the order receipt). I prefer no ice because I want to taste more of the flavor, the drink was gonna come out cold, and will be consume upon receiving anyways. I have a feeling that their matcha is not from Kyoto and it tasted very powder-like and artificial. It did not have a slight bitter taste that real matcha would contribute. I prefer Starbuck's version of the green tea latte a lot better than T4's. I really like their tea eggs because the tea flavor is infused in the egg just perfectly and it is cheaper then their next-door competitor "Blue Shooting Star". I bought this several times before and each time it came out great, I give them 5 stars for that! Their restroom is also pretty clean. There are about 6 large tables that could fit a group for around 4-6people depending on how you position it. They also have the Jenga game. Nice place to hangout! They close at 11pm on a Friday and they start cleaning up at 11pm, but my group stayed there until ~11:15pm. I like that they didn't kick us out immediately at 11pm and one worker kindly said "Thank You" when my group headed out the door. There's daily happy hour (8pm-closing). $2.75 standard drinks $3.25 snacks However, there are exceptions! Don't get me wrong. I love the T4 chain and drink selection (...though I only choose a couple different drinks) but these guys have my very FAV popcorn chicken. I've had various versions from various places / chains over the years...but this place takes the cake, fo' sho'!!! Whether you take your drink with 50% sugar...or 30% ice (i do recommend this ratio with milk tea in general to save on diabetes inducing carbs), I [heart] the snacks here. Basil chicken or wings or eggettes!! These always hit the spot! Though I must say when they 1st opened they used more ACTUAL basil on their chicken. Oh well. At least spice in the batter which counts the most is still the same. FYI, another calorie saving technique I've employed recently is foregoing the boba...and substituting it with red bean. It works for me. The only drawback is that its harder to suck up thru the straw compared to the perfectly round diameter of boba. Try it next time at happy hour! 1 last thing...though I do really like the T4 brand, this particular location is starting to fall victim to Chinatown fatigue. The tea flavor was decent and the boba was very chewy and had a good amount of sweetness. Usually, i am quite skeptical of the food at drink places but the calamari was super tasty! The deep fried calamari is all rings, whereas the tempura calamari includes the fun little tentacles. Lately, I haven't been getting the bang for my buck though, which is disappointing, considering I really enjoy their calamari! They've got salt, pepper, and chili powder on the side for you to customize to your liking, and even ketchup and sweet and sour sauce. Their lines get really long and move really slowly at times, especially when there are parties ahead ordering 5+ drinks and don't know what they want (so annoying and happens all the time). Luckily, I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my drink. My go-to's are their panda milk tea and taro milk tea, 30% sweetness. Their boba is cooked well--perfectly chewy and sweetened.
