We were visiting Winter Park for a few hours and wanted a nice dinner after leaving the theater. I searched on Yelp and found this beautiful restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately by Cami. And fortunately for us, Cami ended up being our server as she provided awesome service. We asked her for recommendations and she gave us great advice as we loved everything we ordered. Our favorite dishes were the crispy cauliflower appetizer (a cravable dish), madras curry with chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and the onion kulcha. Everything was tasty and freshly made. The food and service were both incredible. We had the butter chicken and garlic naan. The portions were so good me and my wife were able to split it and still have some left over. We ordered even more garlic naan to go because we just had to have some for our 3 hour drive back home. The service was incredible. Ambience 10/10. I love Tabla Winter Park! Admittedly I come here quite often with my coworkers as they do have one of the best lunch options on the Avenue in terms of both flavor and value! I crave the butter chicken and garlic naan regularly. I find the WP location to be consistent with their heat levels with the medium being a true medium heat (some days a little on the spicier side but that's how I prefer it anyway!). A fun part of the lunch special is the soup (lemon coriander is my favorite but other locations have opted for the hot and sour and it was yummy) and the mini mango salad. The service is always excellent and prompt with lunch regularly fitting within an hour for 6 of us. I have yet to come here for dinner so I can't speak to how busy dinner is but lunchtime service and seating is always quick! One of my favorite parts of the lunch special is a small dessert is included. I really LOVE the gulab jamun but the rice pudding is delicious too. read more

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try more items at Tabla. I have never been an Indian food fan because I felt the food was too spicy. Thanks to Tabla, I love Indian food now as they were able to accommodate my very mild spice level. I had the butter naan, butter chicken and rice and the mango lassi. I had the butter naan before so I knew I'd love to use it as a base for the chicken. The chicken was so tasty. It was perfectly spiced (but not spicy at all - thank you!). It's a very filling dish so one portion with the rice and bread can serve three to four lunch meals for me! The mango lassi was creamy and sweet. It was a lovely end of the meal. Yum! The ambiance of this restaurant is interesting. It's in downtown winter park and it looks kind of like it's in a mall. Inside is really nice, the inside outside seating feels like you'd be eating in a mall and then there's a couple tables outside. I opted to sit outside. When I first arrived, it wasn't busy by any means. A lady approached the host stand, didn't say anything to me, didn't smile or anything. I just asked if I can have a table for one and sit outside. She sat me outside, she brought me water and then let me have a couple minutes to look over the menu. Turns out she was my server. I ordered a few appetizers to have a few things to taste. I thought it was interesting that each appetizers I ordered came with the same sauces, which for me that lacked originality. The sauces were really good but it would have been nice to have had something more with them instead of the same sauces. I ordered 3 apps and so I had 3 of each sauce (6 total). Again, good, but excessive. My server came back once to check on me but I told her I was fine. One of the dishes I ordered was ice cold and I'm not sure if it was supposed to be that way but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. The garlic naan was probably the best naan I've ever had! Was able to use all the extra sauce I had with that. By the time I was done, I just went inside and asked for my check. Overall, food was good but I think more could have been done with it or perhaps it was just what I ordered. Service was a 3/10. She did her steps of service but literally didn't engage with me whatsoever. Would I come back? Mm, maybe but not definitely. read more

I was really looking forward to trying Tabla, especially since I'm from Bangladesh and my fiancé is from India--we both love and appreciate good Indian food. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of authenticity and flavor. The Pani Puri lacked the freshness and texture we were hoping for, and the accompanying sauces didn't taste authentic or flavorful. The potato filling was far too salty, which made it hard to enjoy. The mango lassi also had an unexpected malai-like taste that wasn't to our liking. The one bright spot was the Gobi Manchurian--it was flavorful and probably the most authentic and enjoyable dish we had. Both were pretty tasty but the curry was super spicy. The curry was served over rice and was a pretty hearty dish in total but I think I prefer the Biryani. Unfortunately, our experience with the servers was very disappointing -- they were rude, unwelcoming, and repeatedly came back to argue with us instead of making us feel comfortable. It left a very negative impression at first. However, the manager immediately stepped in, apologized sincerely, and went above and beyond to make things right. His effort turned what could have been a completely unpleasant night into a much better one. I truly appreciate his understanding and hospitality, and I hope the service from the rest of the staff can reflect the same level of care in the future. Definitely come try it out! Swung by here on a busy Friday night but my friend and I were able to get a table within 5 minutes. They had a menu with all sorts of delicious choices and it was hard to pick between all of them! We ended up having the garlic naan, and shared the Tabla's Mix Grill, which consisted of fish, chicken, shrimp, goat, and lamb. It was plentyyyy of food for my friend and I, that I ended up taking home leftovers and it was enough for two more meals! The spice level was perfect for our liking, and the meat flavors were interesting (but delicious!) we got rice on the side too with chutney so it was the perfect combo. Our server was friendly, but I felt the restaurant was so busy that we ended up waiting for a while for our drink, or getting our check. Ambience was dim, and could be romantic. The decor was nice but you could tell they may have had the decor from the last restaurant that was there previously lol (there was an Eiffel Tower decor, which didn't match) Overall, good food. Like bring me all of the naan bread you have and a bowl of the butter chicken and I am one happy girl. I could not stop eating it! Aside from the amazing butter chicken, Tabla offers family style serving sizes which is great for a family dinner or even a date night. The environment in this location is more on the romantic side and definitely a great place for a first date. Nothing breaks the ice like sharing plates. Came on a Saturday afternoon following the smell from the street. The interior is tucked in from Park Ave which is a nice change from the hustle and hype of sitting on the street and people + dogs walk by you eating all night. When we walked up, we saw a family eating what looked to be a very tasty Pad Thai. We ordered that and the chicken tikka masala, which I always do when trying a new Indian food place because I feel like it's the best judge of their chef. Words can explain how delicious everything was. Everyone in our party wished we had two stomachs so we could order it all again and have it twice! The service was quick and they weren't too chatty.
