Vegetable Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Veg Samosa, Garlic Naan, and Sweet Mango Chutney
    Colette L.

We stopped by Curry Bowl for takeout and we were so impressed with everything! We got the Veg Samosas which were huge and full of flavor. The order comes with two large samosas. We also got the Chicken Tikka Masala which was fabulous! I wish we had gotten more as the sauce was flavorful and the chicken was great. The Chicken Tikka Masala wasn't spicy, so it would be a good choice if you are looking for minimal spiciness. We also got the Vegetable Biryani. It was tasty, but definitely had some spice to it. I am not a huge fan of spicy food, but I still really enjoyed it! The garlic naan was tender and had lots of garlic flavor. I loved the sauces that came with the meal (not sure if they came with the naan or what, but they were perfect for dipping the naan in!). Curry Bowl has a lunch buffet that we will definitely be back to try as it looks like there are lots of options on the buffet line. We also loved everything we got for takeout and will definitely be back again! A great spot for some delicious Indian food!

The service is so confused. They mis- delivered our orders. Its a very limited sitting space restaurant. Coming to food, I think they forgot to buy salt. There is no salt in any of our dishses, or may be they tuned in to many patron's tastes. The Manchow soup is the only item we liked. The stuffed mirchi is not what I expected, me coming from Andhra. But thier take on it also is not tatsty. The idly is undercooked. Dosa is ok. The egg biryani, what they call it, is some masala-less masala rice with boiled eggs. No taste at all. My neighboring table was also complaining about thier poori, as it didnot look like poori but like a burnt Lijjat papad. Sory, but I wouldnot recommend this.

Great flavors and lots of vegan options. The atmosphere is very pretty with many Indo-Chinese accents. Our waitress, Rosy, was super attentive and help us choose some really awesome dishes. We enjoyed an eggplant dish and a vegetable noodle entree. Both were spiced to our liking (medium heat). It is always nice to support a woman owned business. We will look forward to returning the next time we are in Maitland Florida.

Chicken Shahi Korma, Tandoori Roti, Mango Lassi

I just had an amazing meal at Curry Bowl. I ordered the Mango Lassi, Tandoori Roti, and Chicken Shahi Korma. The food was fresh and PIPING hot (which is very important to me!), perfectly spicy, and full of so much depth and flavor. The staff was kind and helpful, and the ambiance was lovely. I look forward to coming back for their lunch buffet!!

Found this from a guy on tik tok. Didn't disappoint. First time at this Indian buffet. It's not your typical buffet, the staff will answer questions about the food and tell you what normally works well together. They don't charge kids under 5 and they gave 20% off for Mother's Day. Very clean place and welcoming space.

I couldn't remember its name, but this appetizer stole the show.

If you love authentic Indian cuisine, you find this a great spot. We came for dinner, so the buffet, which serves during lunchtime was not available. We tried a few a la cart items, mainly curry or vindaloo with vegetables, chicken, or lamb, which were accompanied with rice. I tried mine hot, spicy hot, and learned my lesson, maybe not too hot next time, but it was very delicious. My niece ordered an appetizer which I forgot its name, and it was very good, served with two home made sauces, one spicy and another sweet. Two thumbs up from me.

We came in for a work lunch and had a good experience! A few members of our group opted for the lunch buffet and liked it. We got garlic naan for the table and it was perfect. For my meal, I got the mild chicken vindaloo and a side of yogurt. The chicken was tender and the sauce was so incredibly flavorful with rich seasonings. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had multiple chicken and goat dishes and all were nice. Service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. The restaurant was cute, well decorated, and had good parking. This is a solid choice for casual Indian food. I'll definitely visit again.

This place was fantastic. The food was delicious as I went back to the buffet multiple times. I loved the fact that there were so many vegetarian options. They also had some sort of drink to the left of buffet, and at first I didn't like it but once I added some sugar... I LOVED IT!!! It was like a little espresso, but it wasn't. The atmosphere was relaxing and spacious. The waitress was polite and very accommodating to our large party of six. All in all, would come to this establishment again.

My plate with 3 different types of chicken, naan bread and 3 different types of rice. Absolutely delicious

I happen to be an hour and half early for an appointment and decided to check out Curry Bowl. They have two options... the buffet or à la carte. The buffet looked good and fresh so I decided to go with that. They have a lot of options, 3 different types of rice, several types of chicken, tandoori chicken (a little spicy but not hot) and many other options too many to mention here. I tried a little of each, very flavorful, aromatic and it was absolutely delicious and so was the Gulab jamun (dessert). The staff was really friendly and helpful, the restaurant had a nice ambience, soft music in the background and it was clean too! If you like Indian Cuisine than this is definitely the place you want to check out as you won't be disappointed.

Ambiance is nice. Good lighting, classy looking tables, some nice, chill Indian music playing softly in the background. Good stuff. Service was good. Our server was very friendly and did his best to answer our questions. We needed some allergy friendly food, and there were a few questions where he just didn't know and made a best guest. That's fair, I guess, but that just needs to be better. Food came out timely and nice and hot, the tandoori chicken sizzling up a storm. Now for the food. I started off by getting a Vegetarian Special Appetizer (A combination platter with samosa, aloo tikki, onion bhajiya, mixed pakoras and chili pakoras) for the table. These are always fun, because you don't always know what you're eating. Samosas are always wonderful, and the onion bhajiya is like a better latke. Get this if you like to sample things. Then I had a Lamb Biryani (Lamb and basmati rice cooked with saffron and spices, garnished with cilantro, nuts and raisins). If you're a biryani fan, I'd probably pass on this one. Not a great example of biryani. Very little saffron and other garnishes. There are other great things on this menu. Of course, I had to get some Garlic Naan (Light bread made with fresh garlic, herbs and cilantro). A+ delicious. Light, rippable, soft, garlicky, good for grabbing food like you don't have silverware and adding flavor and texture to every bite. The Chicken Tandoori (Chicken marinated overnight in yogurt with fresh Indian spices and grilled in a clay oven) came out last and on its own, sizzling like the center of attention like a steak fajita. Chicken was well-cooked and very tender. Lots of good flavor, but maybe a little too salty. Overall, this was a very good introduction to Indian food for a few of my co-workers. I'm glad we came. It was a nice visit.

I will say be cautious with spice because it comes with the heat - but also tons of flavor. My favorites dishes are the Lamb Biryani and the Chicken Tikka. The rice is so fluffy and delicious too! The staff were very friendly and the smell of the lunch buffet was amazing!! It's a simple restaurant with a lot of authentic flavor that hits the spot, every time.

The ambiance is just okay--nothing particularly special--and it was noticeably warm inside. With Indian food already being on the spicier side, a cooler temperature would definitely make the dining experience more comfortable. We ordered the rogan josh, palak chaat, samosas, chicken biryani, Jaipur dosa, garlic naan, and a few drinks. Service started off a bit slow--we waited a while for our drinks--but once things got going, the food came out fairly quickly. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of chutneys served with the appetizers. That was a great touch, especially since many places tend to be pretty minimal with those. Everything we ordered tasted really good, and you can tell the flavors were well done. See photos below. Our total came to $105 for everything, which felt reasonable for the amount of food we got. Overall, the food is definitely worth it. Next time, though, we'll probably go with takeout to skip the wait and enjoy it at home.

For my appetizer, I had the Dragon Chicken, which was SO good and a surprisingly large portion! Definitely a standout and easily big enough to share. For my entrée, I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala. The sauce was delicious, rich, flavorful, and especially good soaked up with the naan. I did wish there was a little more chicken in the dish, and for the regular menu price I would expect the portion to be larger. That said, I really liked that the entrée came with both white rice and naan, and the naan was excellent. For dessert, I tried the Ras Malai. I didn't realize when ordering that it is made with cottage cheese, and unfortunately the texture just wasn't for me. That's definitely more of a personal preference than anything! I would have loved to see something like their lava cake offered as one of the Magical Dining dessert choices for another option. Service was really good throughout our dinner. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it feel special, which we really appreciated. At the end of the meal, they brought us plenty of to-go containers and even offered us additional rice and naan to take home, which was such a nice touch. Overall, Magical Dining was a great way to try Jala. Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service, really flavorful food, and that Dragon Chicken is definitely something I would order again!

Naan was good and a lot. We choose the paneer saag, lamb vindaloo, and lamb coconut - all medium spiced. Nothing was cooked to order, asked for medium spiced, all were barely even mild. The paneer saag was a puree, not to my liking - like mine to still look like spinach (leafy?), the lamb in both dishes was over cooked, rubbery. The vindaloo had no flavor. For our appetizer order, I started to say we want the platter but she knew before I even said it. Haha. Must be a popular dish. I had seen it in reviews - looked like it comes with many items! We cut everything up so we could all get one bite of everything; a couple items had two or three whole pieces so we each got a few bites. The sauces are extra charge but definitely get them. The chutney is so good and whatever that spicy brown sauce is, is really good. I ordered for the table- shrimp korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, palak paneer, aloo Gobhi, lamb kadai, dal makhani, garlic naan, garlic cheese naan and paratha. It was a lot of food!! The dishes came with basmati rice. It was so much rice, our server didn't bring it all- instead she packed it up to go for us from the start. In the end, we finished nothing. We split the left overs- they brought us two containers for each curry so we didn't have to mix anything. And we got styrofoam containers for the breads and rice, and our to go rice as well. We shared the mango mousse cake- very nice, not too sweet, definitely mousse consistency. We sat and talked throughout the dinner. They had quite a few other tables so our server was running around. She kept apologizing to us but we were in no hurry. It was fine. We enjoyed our time. This place is good. We also like Mynt, Tamarind and Jala. I would say the prices here are better than Jala and on par with Tamarind. We do not like Tamara in Lake Mary - expensive and not that good. We would definitely come back here. Service is good, food is great, prices are reasonable and there's a lot of paneer and meats in the curries. A lot. A lot more than most places.
