Last time I came here I was knocked back with flavor. This time, same experience but with more variety! I always tend to lean to the favorites, the butter chicken or vindaloo. This time I branched out and got the Chaat Platter and man I'm glad I did. First time having Pani Puri, it's such a fun unique dish that I encourage everyone to try. The food here is incredible! This is a 3 star review though because of the experience we had dining in. It took about 40 minutes for our first appetizer to come out to us and overall we were seated for 2 hours (the restaurant was not busy). Another thing is that the house white wine I ordered in the happy hour menu changed every time I ordered it? I ordered three glasses of wine during the dinner and a different wine came out each time which is kind of odd in my opinion. We came for happy hour and ordered the chicken lollipops as an appetizer. They accidentally gave us 2 instead of 3, but the staff quickly rectified the issue! The palak chaat was delicious and came out quickly! We wanted to try the Thai massaman curry at their "extra spicy" level. It wasn't like too spicy at first bite, but it had a slow and growing spicy burn that really complemented the flavor of the curry. I wish we didn't have to wait so long for our food because I was so hungry when we got there, but hopefully these hiccups are something they can improve on soon because the food was SO SO GOOD. read more

Everything went well! I had never been to this restaurant before, but I love Indian food so much. It's literally my favorite food. I was glad I finally got to try it at this location and restaurant. This location was closest to me and I had seen it before but just never been. They are a little bit more expensive than my regular Indian restaurants that I go to, but the place is very nice and also in the heart of Winter Park so I can understand why their prices are a little bit higher. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The decorations are very nice in the restaurant. It isn't huge by any means, but it is a small little restaurant in that area. There are a few different things that are inside that little area that you walk into it almost looks like you're walking into a mall, but there are a few shops and then the restaurant is down at the end and what looks like a little cul-de-sac. They do have some outdoor seating which technically isn't outdoor, but it's like out the restaurant inside that cul-de-sac area thing. I was very thankful to Yelp for allowing us to do the elite experience with Tabla Indian restaurant. The butter chicken was good and tender. The winter park location is so adorable. Tucked into Winter Park, you have to walk past a koi fish pond in the ground, then spot the big tree inside and you're there. The ambiance inside is cute as well because it's one large window making it feel like the space is all one. My favorite was the Chicken Tikka Masala, but everything was very delicious. The garlic naan was warm and fresh. I also had the butter chicken which was well done and tasted like the classic flavors we love. Oh helllooooo butter chicken! With the Naan bread to dip oh my goodness it is GOOD. My son loved the cilantro jasmine rice and was so impressed with the giant twisty tree outside the doors. We sat inside as it was too hot to sit outside but the gentle tunes and wine glass water at your table made it feel so fancy! We really loved the red curry chicken. I had to try the carrot soufflé as that seemed so unique on the desert menu. It was really surprising as it was more savory than sweet. Visited Tabla in Winter Park for the first time! The restaurant is tucked away from the street in a little enclave which is nice. I went for early lunch so the restaurant was not busy. I had the vegetable samosas to start, these were good, perfect to share. For the main I had the butter chicken and garlic naan bread, both were delicious and portion was large. I had plenty to take home for another meal. I also tried the mango drink, this was too sweet for me but tasted yummy. Decided to stop by this spot when a friend and I were exploring Downtown Winter Park and we spotted this menu on display from the street. Decided to check out this business plaza/mini mall and saw this stunning beautiful restaurant in the mini mall. Service was spectacular, outstanding. Our server was so nice, he saw me taking pictures (as I always do for the Yelp) and he stepped aside and insisted on taking pics for me even though I didn't even ask. He was so friendly and genuinely happy, which I really admired. I even asked if he's the owner, which he responded he wasn't, but I just guessed since he took so much pride in his job and ran the place really well. Food was amazing, everything hit the spot just right! We ordered the Goat Biryani & Lamb Keema Naan, both were absolutely perfect! Ambiance - very fancy, high-end and prices were fair for this quality Indian food/portion sizes/overall dining experience. I loved this place so much, I'll definitely return if I'm ever in the area again! Not a fan. We specifically asked for food that was lightly spiced. We got really spicey. We went on a Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. We were the only customers the entire time. The food was not good and to top it off, they started mopping the floor near us before we were finished and the smell of floor cleaner overtook everything else believe it or not. He made such an impression by explaining the different kinds of chicken on the lunch menu - korma, palak, etc. I ordered the Korma. Since it was on the lunch menu, it came with all the sides on one nice big platter. A complete meal including dessert. Fair price for such a generous serving. Very satisfying meal. Interior was nicely decorated leaning towards the high end which is appropriate coz it's in Winter Park downtown. The restaurant is located in a cute little alley way alongside Park Ave. I love the koi ponds leading up the restaurant. We were greeted pretty quickly and seated as we had a reservation on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't packed yet which was nice! Our server, Jose, was really kind! He let us know that he was the only server so to be patient with him as he was servicing a few tables. We were in no rush anyways but we really appreciated the communication! And to our surprise, service was really quick! Jose was really holding down the restaurant and serving multiple tables quickly. We did not wait long at all for our apps - we ordered vegetable samosas and garlic naan bread which were so delicious! We also ordered the Mango Lassi and wow we loved it! We loved how the drink offered almost a pallet cleanser to offset the spiciness of the food. So good. We then ordered buttered chicken and paneer tika masala. YUM! Everything turned out amazing. I decided this past Sunday to give Indian food one more try--even though it's always been a challenge for me since I'm extremely sensitive to anything spicy. We chose Tabla Indian Restaurant in Winter Park. In order to find it you walk through a beautiful hallway lined with small shops, pass little ponds filled with large goldfish, and you truly can't miss the iconic big tree at the entrance--it's absolutely stunning. At the end of it all, you'll find the restaurant. Such a charming and memorable arrival. I arrived right as they opened and was the first guest in. Jose welcomed me with the warmest energy and invited me to sit anywhere I liked. When I hesitated, he kindly guided me to his favorite table--which immediately made me feel taken care of. I explained upfront that I cannot eat anything spicy. Without hesitation, he checked with his manager, who came over personally, introduced himself, and took the time to walk me through options. I truly appreciated how seriously they took my concern. He explained that because they often have guests like me, they've expanded their menu to include Chinese and Thai dishes as well--such a thoughtful touch. We ordered crispy garlic naan with raita, chicken tikka masala, and lamb korma. Jose even joked that if it didn't meet my expectations, the mango lassis would be on the house--which instantly made me smile. When the food arrived, I'll admit--I was hesitant... but hopeful. And then -- WOW. It was PERFECT. Truly. If I could've done cartwheels, I would have. I'm still so happy. It meant so much to me that they cared enough to make the experience right. That kind of effort speaks volumes. The chef even came out to check on me, and I had to give him a hug. Everything was just right. The naan perfectly crisp, the raita rich and creamy (not runny at all), and the lamb incredibly tender and full of flavor without any heat. For dessert, I noticed they offered gajar halwa (a carrot pudding you don't always find), and the chef made a special version with rice pudding; it was absolutely delicious. I also had the house salad with mango dressing which was also spicy - but not in a good way. My wife and I also had rosemary naan and vegetable samosas. This was my first visit to this Tabla location, but I have been a fan of them for years. This location is right off Park Ave, but it's easy to miss since it's tucked away in a shopping area. The service is great, and we were quickly seated on the patio. The ambiance was very nice with the lights on the trees. We ordered the vegetable samosas to start, which were very good. My sister and I split the Hakka Noodles with Tofu and the Aloo Gobi. We ordered everything with a medium spice level, and it was the perfect amount. Unfortunately the waiter shoved 3 of us at a table for 2 when the whole restaurant was empty. Maybe because my daughter is in a wheelchair and has a service dog? Then since we were by the door and they kept the door open there were flies around the table. It was my husband's birthday so I didn't want to complain but I was definitely disappointed. My family and I went to this Winter Park location on a Thursday and I was surprised at the local businesses closing early. It was a good night to come though; we were able to find street parking and wasn't a bad walk to the restaurant. There's a koi pond leading up to the restaurant and a tree at the entrance. Service was great; they were very attentive given there were only a few of us that night seated at the restaurant. This location seemed to have a lot of to-go orders which I witnessed the hostess/server preparing throughout the night. Tabla has a great selection of items from beef and chicken to lamb, goat and seafood. Different spice levels; make sure to indicate to your server if you want American spice vs Indian spice lol I love the butter chicken (I order mine mild). My husband ordered the goat dish (not sure what it was called on the menu) but these are our go-to meals to order here. I always get the Thai tea and mango lassi to drink. Don't forget to order the butter naan and the garlic naan. I prefer the garlic naan though - best garlic naan I've ever had! We didn't have room for dessert so we'll have to try that next time. My first experience tasting and even going to an Indian restaurant. And I must say we were in for a treat! The experience was awesome. The flavors were an explosion in your mouth and the food came out very fresh hot and tasty. The weight for our food was not long at all yet it was still fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint tucked away restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly delighted with the cleanliness and atmosphere. I must say we were a little skeptical and were going to play it safe until we saw the menu and the hostess assured us that it is worth the try. All I can say is I will be back. We returned to Tabla and had a good experience. I came in for lunch with my mom. We got the chicken vindaloo and the tandoori chicken. Both were delicious. The tandoori chicken didn't have the best bone to meat ratio, but it was still good. The vindaloo was absolutely fantastic and I loved the tender meat and vibrant sauce. Service was good. There was a bit of a wait for our food to come out, but it was well worth it. This is by far the prettiest ambience out of all the locations. I did have to return our water glasses because they were dirty and they explained that it was from the air vent overhead. The vents as well as the upholstery of the chairs were due for a deep clean. However, the food made up for these little things. We love Tabla and this is a good location. read more
