[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy atmosphere, yummy drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just came for drinks with a friend. Sat at the bar, service was great. I tried the taborita and the honey earl grey margarita, very delish!

I was in the mood for a burger and YELP brought us here during our Portland trip in August/September. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a favorite spot amongst the residents of the Tabor neighborhood in Portland. I recall seeing bartenders and servers know certain people by name and chatting about local and personal matters. You can tell the regulars appreciate this place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Once we sat down, we got greeted quickly and got a few drinks. A margarita for the girlfriend while I went with a Steeple Jack Comet Ale. The margarita tasted fine and I liked the Ale's easy texture. They recommended it to me when I mentioned I like Pale Ales so that one is on my radar. As for food, I went with the Tabor burger which was quite big and had a balance of quality flavors with the bleu cheese, bacon jam, and arugula. A very good quality burger with richness from the cheese and sweetness from the jam to counter everything. My girlfriend was recommended the fish and chips by our waitress so she went with that and enjoyed it. Fish was crispy and she liked the tarter sauce. The fries were so-so but she still ate them. We ended with the peach cobbler; a tasty dessert and nice way to polish off our meal. There was mentions they do a solid brunch here so we'll have to try that next time we're in Portland. But as far as tavern eats are concerned, you can't go wrong with a burger and beer here if you're in the mood for those.

Wow, we were looking for a place to grab lunch after Thrift Shopping. Stumbled across the Tabor Tavern while waiting for a stop light. Someone said, hey I've heard about this place, let's try! So we did. Cute and quaint atmosphere, greeted as we walked in and quickly seated. They not only serve lunch but BRUNCH!! We decided to order the Vegan Butternut Squash soup, And Fish n Chips. Everything was delicious. My fish was huge, but I managed to put it away. I also tasted my friend's soup, boy it was like a warm hug of deliciousness. They had two football games playing and my favorite Seahawks, plus they had some great tunes playing. I will definitely come back and try another item on their menu. Highly recommend.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good service, very good food, fantastic music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Stopped in for a late lunch and lucked into the happy hour offerings. The daily drink today is a Moscow mule. Regular menu cocktails are a bit small for the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First of all, the parking is very difficult to find. Secondly, the service is phenomenal. Friendly server but there was a bit of a wait since it was around 5pm Friday. The food came out quickly and I ordered right before happy hour ended so it was just snacking size. I didn't like the steak bites too much. Kinda dry and tough. Kale Caesar was mediocre. Fries could be a bit more crispy and seasoned. I did order a Mac and cheese which could be a bit cheesier or creamier. I would come here for the drinks and vibes not so much on food. Maybe I have to try the entrees and not HH. Maybe a second try.

Gotta say this Burger is one to be reckoned with. Amazing work Tabor Tavern tabor burger

It is genuinely cozy in a way that's hard to fake The reading rooms are such a great touch. Having tucked away spaces lined with books to actually sit and read, talk, or hang out in is so rare in a bar setting. It makes it feel more like a community space than just another tap house. At the same time, it works really well for large groups, we've rolled in deep before and never had an issue finding room to spread out. The beer selection is excellent. Thoughtful and rotating enough to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. Whether you want something hoppy, something dark, or something easy drinking, they've got you. And the left wing vibe is the cherry on top. It's refreshing to spend time in a space that wears its politics on its sleeve, pro-labor, pro-community, unapologetically itself. It feels like a place built for the people who actually live in the neighborhood.

Outstanding! This space suits so many purposes: studying, catching up over a drink, planning/researching, etc. There's even a conference room with seating for 11 that you can reserve. You can play board games here if no one's home is big enough for your group (their website says they no longer book the conference room for board games, but you can game there if it's not reserved). There's a few games in the upstairs green room closet. On a Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of spots open, but it is not dead either. Theres a variety of seating to suit all body types and preferences. First floor is wheelchair accessible. The upstairs bathroom has ducks on the ceiling so that's worth a visit alone. The blueberry rooibos iced tea is delicious and you add your own sweetener at the drink station. It literally feels like hanging out at a friend's house. Worth popping in if you haven't been. You can check the current drink selection on their website. You order in the entryway and then carry your items to your seat. Bus your dishes back to the entryway when you leave.

My gf had never been though we lived near for years. We got the onion rings to start and have never had rings like this. Their dipping sauce was super tasty. They were huge and almost a meal. The crunch on the was fantastic and the onions cut as you bit into them, not one pulled out. We split the chicken and waffles. Chicken just perfect and crunchy and the crunch is seasoned as well. One of those meals you shake ur head the whole time hoping the flavors won't stop. The portion was big and glad we split it. The waffle was crunchy and big. The cup of stew was very tasty as well.

Normally, I don't mind some more breading, but I also felt it was a tad too hard and salty. The texture of the waffle was also......hmmm, not terrible, but definitely not the sort of crispiness I want. More chewy than crispiness even when I first got it. My mom had special requests as usual, and this waitress was very nice as well, but the joint was not as accommodating as some others have been. They did have egg whites, but when she asked for more vegetables, the waitresses implied that the only vegetable they could provide was zucchini, and it could not be changed because......that's what the chef decided? After she got her entree (egg whites, cheese and zucchini?), my mom complained that her scramble was tiny, but got way too much toast. Looking at her plate, I feel like she had a point this time. I don't think this place is bad, but I've had a lot of good chicken and waffles in my time, and this falls slightly short imho.
