This is an amazing family owned restaurant. It has a pleasing decor, friendly service, and delicious and authentic Mediterranean food. Dan and I both got sandwiches. I got an avocado sandwich and Dan got the Shawarma chicken. They were both delicious. Both were served on fresh pita bread. Dan got a huge serving of delicious marinated chicken. It was such a generous serving that he couldn't finish it. Mine was just right. They have quite a variety of Mediterranean dishes on their menu. We plan to return and try their egg plant dip, grape leaves, and other tempting choices. They charge extra for using credit cards. I find that ironic because what drew us to this restaurant is that it is on the rapid rewards dining partners list. When we dine at a restaurant on this list, we get 3 airline points per dollar spent instead of the usual one point per dollar. I usually avoid businesses that charge for credit cards. read more

I got the Combination Kebab platter which is a great way to get a taste for everything. It comes with grilled beef and chicken kebabs and rice and a tzatziki sauce that was just incredible! I also got a side of tabouli to give that a try. The tabouli didn't make an impression and the rice was just straightforward rice, but the tzatziki sauce really was perhaps the best I've ever had. Noticeable, a little redecorating has happened since then, both with the décor and the prices. I swear that the prices have doubled since 2018 our first visit. Fairly and appropriately up due to inflation. So significantly higher that instead of the platter we always had, we went with the more economical Chicken Shawarma sandwich. Tabouli and hummus for the sides. The sandwiches were filling. Packed with chicken and fresh salad. The pita on the sandwich and the squares for dipping were a little stale. Tabouli average and mild, but rich nutty flavored, thick hummus very good. A heavy peppering with ground sumac always brightens up the hummus and the sandwich; well, any Mediterranean food for that matter. (Sumac, yes, the same stuff that grows on the roadsides in Oklahoma.) Always ask for it. Something I forgot about, the Cardamon Iced tea. This is a refreshing, tasty drink. Ali Baba's is one of the very few Mediterranean restaurants that serves it. Try it if you haven't The service is friendly/adequate. Order at the counter. Yes, the chicken kabob can be dry at times but the seasoning on their chicken is SO good. It has more of the zesty, lemon flavor than at any other places which taste DELICIOUS to me. Ali Baba has the best kabobs in the business. Ali Baba offers 6% cash back through Upside. Whenever I get food here, I get an automatic 6% discount, making the food even more affordable. The quality of their food is very consistent, at least the combination kabob platter. I had it three times already and the food was fantastic every time. I love gyros and have tried many around Tulsa. Time to try Ali Baba. I ordered a gyro sandwich to go. First, it was huge!! The lettuce, tomatoes, and onion were fresh and plentiful. I do wish they chopped the tomatoes for better distribution. The tzatziki was okay - maybe a tad runny for my liking, but I prefer a thicker sauce. The meat was generous -- lots of it. My issue was it was not griddled or crisped up any. While flavorful, it was all soft texture, and I like some caramlized crisp edges to help balance it out. Service was friendly and fast. My husband and I were visiting the area and a friend recommended this spot. It's a small restaurant, right next to a liquor store, and as someone else mentioned, it isn't much to look at, but it sure exceeded my expectations! They piled a lot of yellow rice, a teeny bit of meat, salad, squeezed a lot of dressing on top and my 3 olives. I was given 1 pita for my $16 plate I planned on sharing with my husband. There was not enough meat for us each to have one gyro. Also the tabbouleh lacked flavor. They need to get the recipe from Jason's deli! After eating the teeny portion of meat, salad and olives we tossed the rice and tabbouleh. We were still hungry and our $20 was wasted!! read more

Great Persian food. Lots of gluten free choices. I got a family platter with cabbage rolls and they made a sub for me for the grape leaf rolls that aren't gluten free! Their rice is the best and the ground beef is very lean and spiced just right. Lots of regular customers for a reason and they even carried my family pack to the car for me! We got the special of the week, 3 platters for $21.99. I was VERY impressed by the chicken, it was delicious, a little on the spicy side. Rice was nice and fresh. We got double hummus instead of tabouli. Tzatziki sauce was different then what I have ever tried but it was very good! My husband got the gyro meat platter. He wasn't a fan because unfortunately they left the casing on. He said it made it taste more like a hot dog which is not what he pictured gyro meat to be like. I had a friend take me here and he recommended the lamb shank. It came out in a massive pot with a lot of broth around it. (I'm a huge newbie to Mediterranean food, so I didn't know what to expect) It looked good! It also came with a very large portion of rice. My friend instructed me to pick the meat off and put it in the rice, and add some broth. The meat was almost falling off the bone, it was so tender and wonderful. The broth and meat had very good flavor, but I did want to add a little salt. The price was pretty reasonable ($15) considering how much we got. This is my first on site visit, having been sent three kabob meals by a Persian friend after a recent surgery. Encouraged by those meals, we dropped by for lunch yesterday. Three of us split two Gyro sandwiches which we loved! In fact, these were the best we've tasted in Tulsa for flavor and amount of gyro meat. The tzatziki sauce was a little liquid but very tasty with the included tomatoes and lettuce on fresh pita. These sandwiches rival those of The Greek Place in Norman OK which is operated by Greeks. One reason for a favorable comparison may be that their gyro meat is the beef/lamb combo (which I understand is the only place in Tulsa to use this more expensive gyro meat rather than just beef). The service was prompt and I enjoyed exchanging the very few Farsi words I know with the owner. I heartily recommend Ala Baba Mediterranean Cafe! read more
