I wanted to get a chance to expand on my review with Tahoun Grill. I have been coming here for many years, Time and time again they have delivered incredible middle eastern style Israeli food. From shwawarma to Israeli salad to humus, they seem very authentic. The service was great, and the interior design is incredible. They have this feeling like you are eating in a different region of the world. This place is a great spot for family or friends to come for a casual dinner or for something special to celebrate like a birthday. I have always recommended this place to anyone looking for a middle eastern style dinner. An incredible establishment!

Great authentic kosher food. The service is quick and everyone was very friendly. Lots of menu items. We did the salad and app combo, falafel, and shawarma. Everything was great. The place is quiet, and although it was busy there were still open tables

I'm aware kosher food is more expensive but this was ridiculous. 30 bucks for the smallest shawarma I've had along with a side of fries. I also tipped the smallest amount showed on the mobile register. Ambiance was cool and service was quick. But overall, not worth it to me with all the other kosher options.

Do you like the Mediterranean cuisine? Do not look any further! This is the spot. Do not be fooled by the very unpretentious decor, the cuisine is A+. Every single dish we ordered was mouthwatering: the lentil soup that I always order at any Mediterranean restaurant was the best I ever had, my mom's Yemenite soup was very tasty, my shawarma was very flavorful and juicy, side tomatoes grilled just right and Israeli salad had the right amount of all the ingredients and seasoning. My son loved his chicken curry which was today's special and my mom's beef kefta kebabs were delicious. I highly recommend!

The deli is the main attraction, and we got a couple sandwiches. I got a reuben, their leanest cut, and it was really good. There was so much meat--too much for me, but it is super filling. They also have a bakery, though I didn't pick anything up from there. There's lots of soups, too, which I'll probably pick up if I visit again. There are some specialty foods, and they have some tables both in and outside if you'd like to stay a while.

Place the order at one end of the counter and you pick it all the way on the end. They take the sandwich in back to finish it. I ordered a corned beef on an onion roll. While I waited they have a nice selection of baked goods. Cookies, bread and desserts!! The decor is eclectic with nice nods to delis. I received my sandwich and ate outside, because the indoor dining area was full. My sandwich was really good, I would like a little extra mustard next time. The meat was tender and flavorful. The pickles they give you are top notch.

Out of several other restaurants listed, Sarah's was the only one that captured my interest, plus it was a restaurant that I had not visited before in Skokie. Sarah's Brick Oven itself is linked to Sarah's Tent, a market for kosher products that is located where Oakton St connects with N Crawford Ave in Skokie. And in spite of it being linked to Sarah's Tent, there is an acceptable number of parking spots available. After entering and having plenty of time to look at the menu above the counter, and even on the laminated menu, I was acknowledged shortly after the customer ahead of me had finished ordering. I took an interest in the impossible burger after contemplating between the truffle mac & pizza, and the norma jean burger after I noticed that the impossible burger came with barbecue, onion rings, and served on a pretzel bun! And it was completed within a reasonable timeframe. I opted out of dine-in, choosing to take my order to go because I had errands I needed to complete, plus I did not want to be in the area long. Moreover, the restaurant appeared clean, and the atmosphere gave off a very relaxed vibe. There were a number of tables with seats inside of the dining area, and I must say that I adored the interior, and the ceiling decoration which gave off sukkot vibes. As for the food, other than my jaw popping because I had to open my mouth wide to take a bite of that stacked impossible burger, I enjoyed the satisfying taste of it once I had gotten settled in for the evening. It was delicious! And I most definitely recommend it if you are having trouble identifying something to try on the menu at Sarah's. Being that I had a good experience, I would gladly re-visit Sarah's Brick Oven again whenever in the Skokie area. Or maybe I will just make a visit solely for it, tehehe. Service: 4 | Atmosphere: 4 | Food: 5 Recommendations: truffle mac & pizza, norma jean burger, impossible burger, pestorella, spinach almondina, black forest, eggplant shakshuka pizza, truffle alfredo, koh panghan pasta, eggplant lasagna, sicilian panini, avocado sandwich, omelette sandwich, sarah's acai bowl, tropical bowl, or crispy sweet potato salad. ~ To live well is to eat well. ~ Thomas G
