This is my second visit to this casual fun feeling place. The first time was dining in and it was very new. This time I just grabbed a chicken burrito dinner to go early in the day. Service was fast and friendly both times. My burrito was huge -nicely filled with a lot of lettuce, tomatoes & cheese to balance with the chicken & make it feel a little lighter rather than like a softball in my stomach. It tasted very fresh. I upgraded to the "dinner "which includes beans with cheese & rice so it was big enough to share for two. I liked it and enjoyed this carry out meal. On the side was a choice of red or green salsa and I opted for both and they were tasty. They serve beer and fair margaritas/ would be a plus if they can make the margaritas frozen rather than only on the rocks? They were a bit sweet. I am a wine drinker so hoping that they get a license for that as well for a nice crisp white, dry rose and easy drinking red. This is a good addition to the neighborhood for an easy fresh meal. read more

This place has fallen off. Just had to wait about 20 minutes for my takeout order and when I got home found my burrito burned black on one side. Worst part is you know the cook 100% saw this and was ok sending it home with a customer. I used to be a big fan of this place, seems to have fallen off. read more

We ordered through GrubHub, and an hour later, when we called to find out our order status, the woman on the phone told us that they weren't taking GrubHub orders, even though they were listed and had charged our card. They told us to call GrubHub and offered no solution on their end. They didn't even ask what we had ordered or offer to take the order over the phone. Abysmal. read more

I really liked this place when they first opened, but I went in today and service was awful. The veggie burrito was mediocre, the guy who served us seemed so disinterested and rude. I asked for a to-go box and boxes were within sight. The lady behind the desk said someone will help you and rung the bell. My wife and I wanted to host a small, socially-distanced birthday party in the yard for a couple of our friends who turned 30 two days ago. It's a crappy year to have a milestone birthday, believe me... We called in to Tacabron for two taco platters--one carne asada and one pollo--and they were able to accommodate us for a same-day platter order. It sounded as though they don't typically do that but I tremendously appreciate that the staff were able to help us out this time. We have been to Tacabron a few times and really like their food, but the service was above-and-beyond. We only had five people over but most of them had never had Tacabron before and loved the tacos. The two platters of ten each were plenty for seven people, and we felt the price was reasonable. The three sauces that came with the tacos were excellent, we especially loved the hot red sauce with the little pepper bits and seeds in it. COVID-19 has screwed up a lot of things, but Tacabron helped us to not let it spoil our friends' birthdays. read more

Love it here. The fish tacos are terrific, and my family enjoys the steak, goat, and pork tacos as well. You can get them "street style" with onions and cilantro only, or with tomatoes and lettuce. Platters come with rice and refried beans, the guacamole is very good, and there's a salsa bar for that little extra kick. I never understood "top shelf liquor" until I had the margaritas here. I am always on the prowl for tacos. The tacos here were street taco size but decent portions. I enjoyed the flavor of both the pastor (pork) and the chicken. Both the red and green salsas were tasty and fresh. I would have given this place 5 stars IF the chips and salsa were free. Sorry, both other local joints make that happen. Perhaps it's because they are too close to a public pool? Much more seating space than many of the other local tacos joints I visit and the nacho plate (going by for another) looked YUMMY. read more

Meat was already precooked when asking for some tacos , I'm so sick of restaurants doing this when you ask for a taco, you want fresh meat cooked not meat that has been cooked hours before you ordered it , you want fresh Steak in your tacos not 2nd time cooked meat and now it's taste even harder and the meat been cooked twice . Tell the owner your paying for fresh steak not steak that has been cooked and then put into a pan over the stove and when you order your tacos they take that pre cooked steak from that pan and throw it back on the grill again to make you think it's fresh and just cooked . Scam!!! I've rated 127 Mexican restaurants and they all do this so be careful and watch them really good. Mr Taco in Cicero on Austin blvd and Ogden ave are the only ones that cook fresh steak in front of you and they are really good and they are priced really well. read more

Service was amazing two young ladies one of them more talkative then the other, order 6 tacos asada pastor and langua! Once I got there I seen the Tacabron taco and it was awesome especially the sauce. They could have gotten 5 stars but no grilled onions, chilles toreados or spicy carrots. Also the only good sauce was the cascabel that accompany the birria taco, the green sauce and the red one was like a taco BELL sauce. Gueros salsa!!!!!! Besides that great tacos and service.....will definitely go back and chow in this time, try one of the margaritas they offer. read more

The tacos were pretty tasty! I tried the Carme asada, al pastor , vegetarían and chicken. When I eat chicken tacos I must have shredded chicken or I don't like it. The chicken in these tacos was cubed but it was really tasty! The restaurant is very clean. The salsas were delicious. I loved the music. The decor was modern but I absolutely loved it! The only thing is that the tacos were small. I'm used to regular sized tortillas but I would definitely go back! read more

Cinco De Mayo. 1 hour wait. Uber Eats drivers get precedence over physical customers. Epic fail.

This is a new addition to the forest park options. It is in a location that keeps changing hands so hopefully this new restaurant can do well. It has a few parking spots just in front of the building. Entry is through side door. There is a large ordering counter right when you walk in. Prices are very affordable. The service was somewhat helpful but not all that friendly. We tried multiple tacos. I can strongly recommend the tacabron (goat), pollo, guisado and al pastor. The only major disappointment was the carnitas which was very bland. The dining space is clean and modern with cute cactus decorations. There is a well appointed salsa bar so you can dress up your tacos how you please. I liked the green salsa and the black salsa the best. The very spicy salsa had an unpleasant taste but was very spicy. Unfortunately the limes were not refilled. Overall very impressed with quality of food for the value. read more

Service is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRRIBLE! We had to remind both cashiers that we were in line(There was a big party ordering from one line and we had to order from another). SEVERELY UNDERSTAFFED. Waited 15/20mins for our margaritas (they are on tap), 40mins for our food (3 tacos and rice and beans) & an additional 25mins for grilled jalapeños. By the time we got our jalapeños the food was cold. Beans and rice were bland. Probably one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. read more

Great new place! Watch out for the green lights out front. There is plenty of parking and the staff are friendly. We ordered the quesadilla platter and big burrito. They were big portions. We also ordered the margaritas (owner special) and they came out in Mason jars-- which was a first for us. Mason jars serve as decorations too. I particularly liked the salsa bar. We ordered several corn tortilla tacos: steak, chicken, shrimp, carnitas. Salsas were delish. Had the house margarita which was very good. Will try the top shelf next time. Decor is stylish, but simple & inviting. Great location, free parking! Good value. I learned that you can order online, too, and Grubhub will deliver. Or you can phone in order for pick up, too l. Better off going to Taco Bell down a few blocks, least their food has actual flavor. Wasted $20 here on super bland food. The ground beef, the chicken, everything was bland. Their "salsa bar" from medium to hot salsas did nothing to add flavor, they were also weak. Would not recommend ever. Regret wasting money on this sad excuse for Mexican food. Love this new place! Read the great reviews and hubby really likes Mexican food so we came to give it a try. The restaurant used to be where the old Amelia's was. We ordered our food up front - I had their taco platter which comes in 3 tacos with beans and rice. I had the al pastor, shrimp, and steak. I appreciate the placement of this restaurant, it's nice to have something like this in Forest Park. Nothing too special about the cuisine that would warrant the higher pricing. A+ was the inclusion of a salsa bar, we found this rather nice and flavorful. Staff was friendly atmosphere was okay. What a magnificently mediocre place this is. I mean, it's mexican, so you're unlikely to have a terrible meal, but the food is bland (the blandest), the atmosphere is less than welcoming (I'll say the staff is nice), and the place just has a real knack for screwing up the small details. Bottom line, if you don't live right down the street, you almost definitely have a better mexican place by you, even if it's Chipotle. read more

I agree that the decor is unique and nice. The staff friendly. And the salsa bar is a good idea. However, my meal experience is a different story. Lets just say that the salsa bar was the only thing that came close to tasting like authentic Mexican food. The salsas were well seasoned and they had a LITTLE heat. More heat would have been better. I ordered a platter that seemed thrown together. My dinner was under seasoned. Overcooked. Barely hot. Tough meat from microwave (which I could barely cut because they only gave me a flimsy fork). Tried the tamales, which were crumbly and dry. Hardly any filling or flavor. My dinner companion had the same experience, her tacos were just - ok. We had to keep putting salt on our food to get some type of flavor. I've eaten some great Mexican food from some dive, hole in the wall places. And expected to have a good experience with Tacabron, but it seems like they put all their efforts into the decor and not into where it should be - the food. I strongly believe that we have to support our local businesses; which is why even after my poor dining experience, I'm willing to give them another chance to redeem themselves. read more
