Okay, this place is SO yummy! They've got all your classic Mexican staples--quesadillas, burritos, tacos, nachos, you name it. Everything tastes super fresh. We ordered to-go with a group of three friends (so a good amount of food) and it took less than 15 minutes. Honestly, not a bad wait time! The salsa bar in the front? Solid selections and the salsas complemented everything perfectly. Service was kind and they take both cash and card. A few things to keep in mind--the space is on the smaller side and it's mostly outdoor seating. With summer coming up (and spring already feeling hot), just know it can get warm out there. There is shade, but I don't remember seeing fans. So maybe plan for takeout if it's a scorcher! Parking is street parking. If you know Glendale, you know it can be a little tricky. We ended up parking in a residential area and walked about two minutes, so not bad at all. But honestly? It's worth it. The quantity of food for the price is fair, the wait time is quick, and I've been wanting to go back ever since my homegirl put me on to this place. Craving Mexican food nearby and found this place on the way to the 134fwy. Pulled up at the drive-thru and ordered a Lengua torta. The drive-thru was kind of janky (worker had to fix the sliding window for a bit), which has that old school touch, but she was nice to answer questions I have. I expected something similar to El Gallo and other torta-esque places, but I was confused by my half sub torta lengua sandwich. It had a decent amount of filling but for $16.50 or so. Unfortunately, I didn't feel full as I expected from other places so maybe I'll try something else here next time. Lengua was also okay. Not flavorful, not bland. If you're like me and drive to Taco Azteca and decide, we'll just eat at Norms.... well you are at the same place. I guess after 3:30 PM Norms turns into Taco Azteca. I was giving them a hard time asking for a pastrami when my daughter said, "Dad, cut it out, we both said we wanted tacos". And I will say the tacos were very good. I had one each of cabeza, buche and lengua tacos. The green sauce was sooo good. My wife and carnitas tacos and ended up ordering one more. My daughter had the asada quesadilla and was not super happy with the red sauce that came inside but I tasted it and it was pretty good. This place is small but has some outside seating area. I was really excited to try authentic tacos in Burbank, and it was cool to see that this place is Norm's / Diner American in the day, and Mexican food in the evening. I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos -- they were pretty solid, though I wish the al pastor had come from the spit (trompo) and had more of that burnt flavor, but otherwise was quite flavorful. The carne asada I wouldn't write home about, since it was missing some of that charred grill flavor that makes me love street style tacos. Also felt that it could have been seasoned better. Service was quick and good, and prices were fair. Appreciated that they open late, and would still go after a long flight home landing in BUR. Might try the lengua next time! read more

Just so y'all know, Taco Azteca Original takes over Norm's Hamburgers after Norm's closes for the day. So, if you think you are in the wrong place, you aren't. I love lengua and I'm glad we found this place. It's so good. It's hard to find good lengua on the menu, so i had to try it. I'm a pretty light eater and I scarfed down three tacos without blinking. Yeah, I was full, but I really wanted to go for round two. The guy at the register said the cabeza was good, but I couldn't. I will have to get it next time because there will be a next time. Favorite cabeza tacos I've found in Burbank! I always wanted some good tacos near me and the Taco Gods answer my prayers with Taco Azteca because they're literally down the street from me. Lengua is my second favorite. The carnitas are delicious too. I also tried the fries and they're a solid pick. The burrito is good too. Not a huge fan of the nachos but I'm also not a huge nacho cheese person so that's on my preference. Staff is always friendly and service is fast. I usually call in my order for pick up and my food is ready in about 10 minutes. Taco Azteca takes over after Norm's closes and the place is open for dine in as usual. The outside tables are cute with the string lights for decor. They offer two salsas: red and green. Both are tasty but the red does have a bit more kick to it. 10/10 for me! read more

We've been twice and first time was delicious, second experience was disappointing. They have outrdoor seating and it's on Magnolia, so it can be pretty loud. We both got carnitas burritos on the first visit and they were so good that we were excited to have the option in Burbank. Next visit, about 6 pm and we ordered one pork and one chicken burrito, but they were out of chicken, so we got two carnitas figuring they'd be great like our first experience. Got home to eat them and they'd given us two carne asada and we were not at all impressed. Dry and way too salty. Probably wouldn't go back because of inconsistency and other places that actually do give you what you ordered. Tonight,I went to get dinner for my husband and I and I was not happy with my meal. I got a carne asada burrito and it was mostly beans than meat and it lacked flavor. I went before during the week and the food was delicious! I had a torta and it was delicious! There was a different crew tonight. I think I'm going to stick with the crew during the week. I was so happy when I realized this was the same spot as the original one in Glendale! Their tacos are hands-down the best in town. Authentic Mexican food is hard to come by in Burbank, and most other spots I've tried just don't hit the mark, but this place absolutely does. The al pastor tacos are my favorite, with chicken as a close second, especially when I ask for the tortillas a little crispy/well-done (highly recommend). I'm a fan of Norm's burger food especially their breakfast burritos. So when the same location opened for dinner with a completely different menu I had to give it a try! We pass down magnolia everyday and we decided to stop and try this new place out. I ordered the nachos with lengua, asada fries, and a torta de al pastor. They were out of carnitas which was a bummer. The lengua has a good taste, the al pastor was ok and the asada was asada. The biggest issue I had was once I received my order and I drove 3 minutes to get home the cheese on the nachos and asada fries was cold. I have driven to north Hollywood to another establishment and ordered the same exact order and my food was still hot when I got home. The same Norm burgers Staff that treats their customers like trash have opened a side business at the same location which the food is garbage You can't sit inside norms burgers in the booths only can sit in the outside patio section which have tables and chairs from a swap meet its just very cheap tables and chairs. $3 dollars for their tacos are a major rip off of only using 25cents of very cheap meat. $13 dollar burrito also is a major rip off using the same cheap meat that norms uses for their burritos just tasteless and cheap meat. Tried this place for the first time tonight. First things first: this is apparently an after-hours offshoot of Norm's Hamburger. They run it out of Norm's in the afternoon and evening hours and there is minimal signage to indicate where it is. So if you're looking for it, it's in Norm's. Secondly, while the order taker was friendly and patient with our questions, she ultimately forgot an item from our order (beans & rice) that we got charged for but didn't receive. Third, the food was somewhat disappointing. We ordered three tacos - carne asada, chicken, and carnitas - as well as an order of their "super nachos" with carnitas, and the aforementioned (missing) beans and rice. The carne asada taco was the best in the group, the chicken taco was not bad but seemed a bit dry, while the carnitas were kinda plain and flavorless. The green salsa managed to improve the flavor for all three varieties though. As for the nachos, these were underwhelming. Basic chips with canned nacho cheez whiz and the bland carnitas. For all the supposedly good reviews and ratings, this place fell flat. read more

Best tacos and burritos in Burbank!!! We needed this in our lovely city that unfortunately lacks good Mexican food. The tacos are amazing, generously served, and the meat is perfectly marinated. This is a new regular spot for me. The Carnitas was cooked perfectly. Pastor was seasoned really well too. Also loved the tortillas they used, thinner and not dry at all.
