The food and service here are always great! I've been in a handful of times and have ordered their chips & guacamole and their carnitas plate with no cheese. The carnitas are cooked perfectly and their pinto beans are so tasty. Their guacamole is fresh and I always get a small serving of chips with my order. They also have a water dispenser with plastic cups so customers can help themselves, which is very convenient! Although their parking lot is small there is plenty of street parking. The last time I was there I needed to use the restroom. I was impressed to see that it was clean and stocked with soap, paper towels, toilet paper and toilet seat covers. This is my friend's favorite place to grab to go orders when she was living in Burbank. When she moved out to a nearby city, we taught Poquito Mas shut down. We didn't know it moved to another location in Burbank which we chanced upon when we were driving around. She excitedly asked me to dine in here and I obliged. This is a no service restaurant so we placed our order in the counter and were given a number. We got a shrimp taco, a burrito and a tostada. This is a cute little PM location. The steak is still fantastic, especially on a quesadilla. The enchiladas were slightly different, though. The sauce was on the creamier side than what I'm used to at the OG location. They're still delicious, just unexpected. The staff was lovely. Everybody had smiles and were super helpful. You can't go wrong with a steak burrito here. I stumbled upon this Poquito Mas location when I was in the Burbank area and starving. It looks like it's may be one of the original locations. It's so quaint and cool looking inside too. I ordered their steak burrito which I always end up getting and it was delicious as always. I noticed many were ordering the enchilada, which I think may be the winner here. Overall very happy with this last-minute lunch! Salsas were very disappointing. The spiciest was spicy and the mild was like broth with added color. The verde was so tangy it seemed like squeezing a lime in your month instead. Now to my Shrimp scampi burrito. It gets a 1/10 only because the shrimp was cooked well. Cooked well not seasoned well. Let's start with the burrito itself. First off the bias cut wasn't even. Nor was the burrito "wrapped" My first lift off the plate, everything fell out. A shrimp fell out then a pile of soggy white rice. I opened up the burrito to find only white soggy rice and a few chopped up tomatoes. I opened the other half to find 4 more shrimp and soggy white rice. Needless to say I DID NOT eat the rice or tortilla. I managed to enjoy the flavorless shrimp by adding salt, lime, and their "spiciest" salsa. Just to not be hungry I ate the chips. read more

Barragans was closed on a Tuesday of all days. I was craving beef hard shell tacos but wanted to try a new place that we've never tried. I've heard this place for so many years but had never tried it, until today! I had four steak tacos, and I won't lie, I wished crispy tacos were on the menu, but these were excellent. The steak was seasoned well, just wished there was more of something on them. I had maybe two small pieces of pico in my tacos. Luckily pico and salsa verde was ordered separately. The pico was standard, but that verde was so flavorful with a kick that wasn't too spicy. I loved it. My daughter got herself some shrimp tacos and hated them. I actually gave her two of my tacos and she gave me the shrimp taco she didn't eat, and the shrimp tasted off, it was pretty bad. She said her rice and beans were really good though. The cheese quesadilla was also very good, they also filled it with onions and other veggies. The veggie tacos are also really good as well as the cheese enchilada, per my husband. The tortillas here are hand made. The carne for the tacos is real carne & thick. I got two tacos & I couldn't even finish one. They were very filling! Perfectly cooked and prepped. The guy who works the register is as rude as can be. We go here often and he is always rude. Well no more. Tonight he screamed in our face to let the person behind us know to go to the other register. We make our order. About five minutes later I realized we forgot a taco. A taco. Grew up in la, been eating Mexican food my whole life (usually in someone's home). Went here tonight and goddamn. This review is about the food, and the service. Cold and stale chips, watery bland salsa, food comes out, paid 36+ for food that wasn't seasoned, cold, stale. Cheese on the beans wasn't even melted cos the beans were so stiff and stale. Rice was so dry you could choke, and cold. Shrimp tasted like.. plastic? No sauce or anything for dishes that should have sauce??? Chicken was tough, cheese was old. Come on now, the food was just bad, cold, and not fresh. My mom was very unhappy but too sweet to say anything. I went up and asked politely for something else, and the guy at the counter (we dined around 7 pm) immediately started to argue with me lmao, saying verbatim - "how could I know what was good, because it's all fresh and we cook it fresh- how do YOU know what we do?", "do YOU even know what's wrong with the food?", "how do YOU even know what you like!?", actually wtf. He was condescendingly even asking if I even know what dish I was eating (????). He immediately escalated and this 40+ year old guy was yelling at me, and the whole restaurant AND kitchen heard it all (the people in the kitchen were even concerned and asked in Spanish what was wrong). Heard him talking rude shit in Spanish right in front of me and then behind my back (I speak Spanish lmaoooo) and he was being snide as hell and kept escalating (all I said the food was kinda off and then he started interrogating me, like damn I can't just say the food is ass in front of the kitchen, that's rude) and he made it a contentious argument while I tried to keep it cool... He made a huge stink and I kept telling him "it's cool I'll just get a steak quesadilla" and then I actually apologized and just gave up (he also asked me if I even know what a quesadilla is, which is insane.) For the record, all I asked verbatim, VERY POLITELY AND MEEKLY, was for a different dish because it tasted sort of off. A few minutes later, an actually fresh to order quesadilla came out (the lady serving was really sweet btw, no hate or shade to anyone else working!!!!). After the same guy came out to our table and made a big show of asking if I wanted water or a salad or something else, cus he knew he was being an asshole after the whole restaurant saw and heard him yelling, and it was really uncomfortable and off-putting, he didn't even apologize, and he was really... insincere? My poor mom was so saddened and disappointed with her own food, she just didn't want to be a bother originally. She paid with her hard earned money for terrible food and she felt too uncomfortable to stay, it's terrible seeing your own mom be made so sad in what should be a fine experience just eating. The economy is so bad, small businesses deserves support, and I NEVER leave bad reviews, but I don't recommend fighting and gaslighting a customer (and then insulting them in front of you in a different language ) over a simple request because the food is just objectively bad. I never want to be even a slightly noticeable customer but this was so bizarre. If the food was bad, I wouldn't have said anything, and I would've forgotten. Food is really expensive now to order.. so when I pay $65 for a meal for my family delivered to my house I do expect it to be decent. Tonight we ordered 2 San Felipe burritos- This is typically our go to and our favorite dish to order. In the past this always came with chips, tonight we got no chips. The shrimp was super fishy and overcooked and it just tasted off. Neither myself or my husband enjoyed the burrito tonight. Chicken Tortilla Soup- there was no chicken or tortilla's in it! I ordered the chicken burrito. This comes in two sizes and I ordered the large, which they call the "classic." This goes for $11.95. It was quite delicious, and surprisingly they make it without any beans or rice. Other places typically load up the burrito with cheap fillers. The inside is just chicken, guacamole, cheese and salsa. They also grill the outside. This is a quality burrito.
