We decided to stop by Poquito Mas on Olive Ave in Burbank, and we are so glad we did! Everything was absolutely divine. My husband ordered the steak burrito, which was packed with flavor, and I had the 'quesadillas con todo'--highly recommended! The food and service here are always great! I've been in a handful of times and have ordered their chips & guacamole and their carnitas plate with no cheese. The carnitas are cooked perfectly and their pinto beans are so tasty. Their guacamole is fresh and I always get a small serving of chips with my order. They also have a water dispenser with plastic cups so customers can help themselves, which is very convenient! Although their parking lot is small there is plenty of street parking. The last time I was there I needed to use the restroom. I was impressed to see that it was clean and stocked with soap, paper towels, toilet paper and toilet seat covers. This is my friend's favorite place to grab to go orders when she was living in Burbank. When she moved out to a nearby city, we taught Poquito Mas shut down. We didn't know it moved to another location in Burbank which we chanced upon when we were driving around. She excitedly asked me to dine in here and I obliged. This is a no service restaurant so we placed our order in the counter and were given a number. We got a shrimp taco, a burrito and a tostada. This used to be one of my favorite places to stop for a bean burrito, a shrimp taco, and their amazing salsa. I always looked forward to eating here because the food was consistently good. Unfortunately, my visit today was very disappointing. The salsas were nothing like I remembered. One of them tasted exactly like tomato paste--I have never had a salsa taste so much like plain tomato paste before. It honestly seemed more suitable for pasta than Mexican food. Have been going to this location for 10 years and it's consistently very good with great service. San Felipe rice plate with wild caught shrimp is my go to. It's so quaint and cool looking inside too. I ordered their steak burrito which I always end up getting and it was delicious as always. I noticed many were ordering the enchilada, which I think may be the winner here. Overall very happy with this last-minute lunch! My new name for this place is Poquito NO Más what a horrible experience the food was just terrible. I had a chicken tostada. He asked if I would like the chicken shredded. I said absolutely when I received it. It was one big chunk of chicken in it. The shell it was in was tasteless and stale. Just horrible. My wife had a steak taco and they put it in a soft cold shell also awful I would highly recommend staying away from this awful restaurant. This is a cute little PM location. The steak is still fantastic, especially on a quesadilla. The enchiladas were slightly different, though. The sauce was on the creamier side than what I'm used to at the OG location. They're still delicious, just unexpected. The staff was lovely. Everybody had smiles and were super helpful. Salsas were very disappointing. The spiciest was spicy and the mild was like broth with added color. The verde was so tangy it seemed like squeezing a lime in your month instead. Now to my Shrimp scampi burrito. It gets a 1/10 only because the shrimp was cooked well. Cooked well not seasoned well. Let's start with the burrito itself. First off the bias cut wasn't even. Nor was the burrito "wrapped" My first lift off the plate, everything fell out. A shrimp fell out then a pile of soggy white rice. I opened up the burrito to find only white soggy rice and a few chopped up tomatoes. I opened the other half to find 4 more shrimp and soggy white rice. Barragans was closed on a Tuesday of all days. I was craving beef hard shell tacos but wanted to try a new place that we've never tried. I've heard this place for so many years but had never tried it, until today! I had four steak tacos, and I won't lie, I wished crispy tacos were on the menu, but these were excellent. The steak was seasoned well, just wished there was more of something on them. I had maybe two small pieces of pico in my tacos. Luckily pico and salsa verde was ordered separately. The pico was standard, but that verde was so flavorful with a kick that wasn't too spicy. I loved it. My daughter got herself some shrimp tacos and hated them. I actually gave her two of my tacos and she gave me the shrimp taco she didn't eat, and the shrimp tasted off, it was pretty bad. She said her rice and beans were really good though. The cheese quesadilla was also very good, they also filled it with onions and other veggies. The veggie tacos are also really good as well as the cheese enchilada, per my husband. They are cheap at this location. They give you only 2 tortillas instead of 3 that other locations give. Also you have to ask for any sides you want. The guy who works the register is as rude as can be. We go here often and he is always rude. Well no more. Tonight he screamed in our face to let the person behind us know to go to the other register. We make our order. About five minutes later I realized we forgot a taco. A taco. Not something that has to be cooked under the broiler and he tells me it will be an extra 20 minutes. I asked him to just add it to our current order and he refused. As we are picking up our other food he says to me, "sorry I thought you wanted it for dine in." Why would that matter? To go tacos take less time than done in tacos? The atmosphere is welcoming, the servers are kind, and the food is consistent and delicious. What else could you ask for? On top of good food, there really is something for everyone here. There are plenty of plant-based options (order whatever you want with the "Veggie grill" option, and can easily be adapted to fit your dietary allergies/preferences. I appreciate the diversity, yet simplicity, of the menu. It can get busy at peak times, but even with a lot of orders, the food still comes out efficiently and the staff handle it gracefully. Today I when to Poquito mas with my dad and I usually go to the Sherman oaks one but today I was going somewhere and when I got a kids bean and cheese burrito and at the Sherman oaks one I got a drink that comes with it but here I did not and it was still more expensive and when I got it I saw it was a lot smaller and then when I took a bite of the burrito the bread was already falling and the cheese was not melted and at the bread was soggy the rice and beans on the side where ok but the burrito was very bad and it was first time here and at the Sherman oaks one you could get sauces of any kind but here I saw everybody was getting it by the waiter but we did not get one and I would not recommend for anybody to come here read more
