I forgot exactly how I first stumbled upon Cafe de Olla, but I've come here with my family a few times, and we've definitely decided this location is better than the Monrovia one. First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. I came with a friend who is a regular and she gave me a lot of good recommendations of what to order. The menu is quite large, filled with tons of delicious Mexican breakfast options! I'm a big machaca fan, so that's what I ordered. As an appetizer, we got the molletitos with chorizo and OMG! It was absolutely delicious. I got to taste my friend's huevos divorciados and the sauce was so delicious. My machaca was different than what I have had at other restaurants, a little on the dry side, but I enjoyed it. I got on the waitlist online around 10:15am. Said about 12-12:30pm I get it busy. Checked in around 12:15pm said 20 minute wait, cool. Took 45 min to sit us. Because I actually had to go ask again. How much longer. Then all of a sudden oh just ready in a min, when there was clearly 3 empty table for about 10 minutes. So got seated at 1pm from 10:15am reservation... 3hr wait um I don't think so. Cafe De Olla is a Burbank staple. I've been going to Cafe De Olla for quite some time now and they don't miss. Their food is amazing. I always get their Chilaquiles and Chocolate Chip Pancakes with an Iced Cafe De Olla. They have different sauces for their chilaquiles and each one is so good. The pancakes are always warm and fluffy. Service is top tier. Everyone is so welcoming and tries to accommodate you in a timely manner as they do get really busy. Ambiance is great. A cozy breakfast spot with seating inside and some outside. It's on the smaller side so it does get packed. I would recommend being there early. It was busy but they move fast so we only waited about 20 min. Parking can be a little difficult as it's only street parking. I went for brunch during the week when it would be less crowded, wait time for a table wasn't long and we were able to snag a seat inside. Our server Matt came to the table right away, grabbed our drinks and answered some questions I had about the menu. I ended up grabbing the poblano chilaquiles (green sauce) it came with rice and creamy beans to dip the chips in. It was delicious, lots of chips so I didn't finish it all but was really good. My cousin got a veggie breakfast wrap and an iced coffee, she said both were really good! We've been here multiple times in the morning and always come back for the chilaquiles -- every version we've tried has been amazing. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and solid portions. We haven't tried their pancakes and other sweet breakfast items yet, but they look really good and are definitely on our list for next time. This place is tiny so I cannot tell you how important it is to get on the wait-list before you arrive. That being said the food is pretty good, the chorizo is excellent and the chilaquiles are done well and stay crispy for quite some time. I don't recommend beef here other than as machaca it isn't the best cut so it can be hit and miss. The French toast and pancakes really are done well, presented beautifully and worth getting. The cafe de olla is always really good, the perfect blend of spices every time whether iced or hot it's a must try. Fair warning it is a bit sweet. Beans, rice and omelettes are always done well and full of flavors, with crisp veggies and never too spicy. This place always has excellent service I've never had a bad experience. I've been meaning to try this spot for a minute! We put our name on the list and were told it would be a 45 minute wait!!!! We were wanting to try it, so decided to wait, but did run across the street to get coffee, so we unfortunately didn't try any of the drinks at Cafe de Olla. The servers were friendly and the menu was awesome. My boyfriend and I split the chorreadas, which were SO so good! Great flavor! And my boyfriend got the chilaquiles divorciados with habanero and poblano sauces. This was excellent and the rice and beans were so good. I ordered the all-in-one burrito, which didn't have as much flavor compared to the other two items we got, so it fell a little flat for me, but is otherwise a fine option! I've been to the Cafe De Olla in Monrovia, but the one in Burbank is the OG location. It's smaller with a few tables inside and out on the sidewalk. I can see how the wait can be super long here during peak times since the cafe has such few tables. As we came later in the day, we were able to get a table pretty quickly. Plus we got on the Yelp Waitlist so that probably helped. Parking is available only if you're lucky to find a spot in the street. The restroom is tiny and not wheelchair accessible. Pastries for sale are displayed in a vintage cupboard (like those cupboards in your abuelita's living room). Love the extensive menu and brunch that is available all day. I live for their hot Cafe de Olla (they also offer it in iced) and downed a few mugs during my meal - so so good! My friend and I shared the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and the Banana Pecan French Toast. Both were 5/5 - so yummy! Only downside is that service is slow, I had to wait a while for our server to come back and get refills, boxes, the check, etc. Our server was MIA for so long that I ended up asking another server for help. read more

I got the Sweet Temptation French toast. This was delicious. The Dulce de Lèche was rich, but balanced out with the acidity from the strawberries. The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! My friends got the Very Berry French toast and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. They both said theirs were delicious as well. The ambience of the restaurant is clean and nice. There's seating indoors and outdoors, we chose to eat inside. The waiter checked on us a few times to make sure we were still doing okay, and we never felt rushed. Such a great little gem! Authentic Mexican café vibes with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day. It gets busy, but I came after a morning run and was seated right away. The Café de Olla is a must sweet, cinnamon, and perfect on its own (hot or iced). Wow this place really lived up to the expectations!! It's a small place so coming early is a must if you don't want to wait 2+ hours to be seated. I went ahead and put myself on the waitlist actually before I got there for my ideal time and I was there just in time for my name to be at the top of the list. Ordered: Huevos Rancheros - 4/5 It was my first time having this so I can't make much of an assessment but in my opinion it was pretty darn good! It wasn't spicy at all but good flavor throughout and actually pretty filling once you got through all of it. The fresh tortillas on the side are everything! Service: 5/5 The were super nice and accommodating! They came often to check in on us. I also didn't feel too rushed to be there given how busy it was. Ambiance: 3/5 Its a bit of a crabshoot. The inside is quite small which could be difficult with a bigger crowd but outside there's on a few tables and you just have to deal with the foot traffic of it all (ie. people standing around/near you, possible children crying). So I wouldn't say its the most quaint place to be in despite the presentation but there's a reason why its popular Parking: 4/5 - Its a good place to be at for burbank. Cafe de Olla in Burbank was the perfect spot for a long-overdue brunch with my in-laws. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated, highlights included the fajita omelette with fruits (10/10!) and the Del Norte Combination (10/10). Sausage can be overpowering so I do order without! And the café is like no other. If you need a pick me up or just a feel good drink, their cafe de olla is heavenly. This location gets very crowded so I do recommend placing a pick up order and enjoying your meal at the nearby park (3 minute walk). Such a treat! My mom and I were in the area for a wedding, and wanted a big breakfast - Cafe de Olla delivered not only on the food, but especially on the service and welcoming environment. We were excited to try their namesake coffee, and the waiter was kind enough to ask us about our taste in coffee, saying that the cafe de olla was particularly sweet. Then he offered to bring us some to sample, which was a really good call, because my mom and I did end up opting for regular coffe (the cafe de olla was yummy, just very sweet, and for someone who usually takes her coffee black, I don't think I would have wanted more than a sip). We ordered the Berry Wheat pancakes, and the Nopalitos con Huevo, so I can very confidently say that they excel in both their sweet, and savory dishes. One of my favorite breakfast spots in Burbank! The space is small and very popular so it can get crowded, especially on weekends. Whether you're feeling sweet or savory, Cafe De Olla has it! We went during a busy morning, entered our name (party of 2) @ 12:30pm, expected an hour wait, but ended up getting our table in 30 mins! The space is especially small, only containing 7 tables for parties of 1-4 at most and 3 tables outside. Perfect for taking a friend or a small family here. They do accommodate for larger parties but expect to sit outside + a longer wait. Cafe De Olla also has takeout services, which could be perfect if you do not prefer to wait too long. They have a small restroom towards the back of the restaurant. Service is especially quick so best to look at the menu while you wait, we got our food in less than 15 minutes. We ordered just one plate of the Sweet Temptation French Toast and it was enough to fill our small stomachs. It included crispy potatoes, well done sausages, and decent eggs, perfect to fulfill our savory needs. The main dish, the French toast, had a nice and light flavor to them, the dulce de leche drizzle was not overwhelming, which can be a deterring factor in many sweet breakfast foods, and paired well with the strawberries and syrup.
