Pretty amazing! Came here last night with a friend who told me this is one of the most authentic Mexican taco places in Glendale, and boy was she right. I had the carne asada, carnitas, pollo and pastor. Liked them all but my favorite was the crane asada. The meat quality was just so good. My #2 pick were the carnitas. All of them come adorned with chopped onions and cilantro, but you can always request them to be plain if you're not into that thing. There is some seating but it's limited. But for $10 for 4 Tacos and a water, you can't beat it. I tried this place 2x before giving this review. People coming here for years need to check their taste buds. This is the worst Mexican Food I've tasted. The only people probably coming here are non Mexicans and or white washed Mexicans that have lost what real Mexican food taste like. The Asada had no taste or flavor. The Al-Pastor did not even taste like Al-Pastor. It had some runny sauce that seemed like they add it after they cook their meat. The meats are flavorless. It seems like they just steam their meats and forget to add salt. Place looks very dated and it's in a main street with no parking. Service is somewhat slow which is surprising since they already have all the food cooked. Again, I tried this place 2x, giving benefit of doubt, but it was awful both times. read more

I love Taco Azteca. It looks like your basic hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurant, very limited seating, one window for order and pickup. It's very unassuming, but the food here is 100% authentic mexican. No frills, nothing extra to get your attention, looking at you Hot Cheeto burritos. We usually order carnitas burritos, chicken and asada tacos, quesadilla and horchatas. I wouldn't change a single thing about the food. I don't think I've ever gotten that here but when I return, it'll definitely be for that. I tried a little bit of the al pastor burrito which was a bit salty, over seasoned for me. The carne asada was good. Right now they're open for take out only even tho they have outdoor dining spaces. Parking is limited due to street parking only. They take credit cards and cash. The BEST QUESADILLA imo. It's shaped like a burrito, but it's filled with gooey cheese and meat (I prefer carne asada) and cilantro, onion, and salsa. I've never seen quesadilla made like this anywhere else so I crave this quite often. We also like the CABEZA TACOS & the HORCHATA. There are others that we like from them but those 3 are our staples. Parking: hopefully you're lucky enough to score the 30 minute parking right in front. It's in front of the high school so parking can be hard to get. Call ahead if you want to wait less. We are recent LA transplants from the Midwest, and have been on the hunt for our taco spot. Without question we will be back for more of these authentic, delicious tacos. I didn't even grab a pic of our tacos because we devoured them so quickly. Tacos are served with onions and cilantro (we got pollo and carnitas). Taco Azteca is walk-up, takeout only during COVID-19, so when your order number is called, they'll ask if you want green and/or red salsa - definitely get both! The green salsa is like a normal salsa verde while the red salsa is a spicier, more toasted flavor. Both went well with everything we ordered! One thing to note is there's no parking besides two 30 minute, on street spaces. Both were filled up at ~5pm on a Saturday, so I drove up about a block on Harvard to find a temporary spot. If you have someone else who can drive, I suggest having them drop you off and they circle the block while you wait! Great little spot on Verdugo - luckily I got a street spot right out front, but it's street parking only. We've only gotten tacos from here, but we have been really happy with what we've ordered! Plenty of meat for $2.25 per taco (inclusive of tax). We've ordered lengua, buche, cabeza, and pastor. I especially like their cabeza because it's not too fatty like some other spots can be. Due to COVID, they put all of the toppings on before wrapping them up and put the radishes, limes, and salsa in a bag for you. If you want extra of anything (such as cilantro, onions, etc.), you should ask for it ahead of time. My boyfriend found this place to eat at before we made our way to Disneyland. The stand is located across from Glendale High School and we lucked out that we found parking on the street a few yards from the place. They had a good selection of items to pick from with choices like burritos and tacos. I ended up getting their shrimp cocktail since they had a summer special for it for $8.99 or something along those lines. My boyfriend ended up getting a burrito, two tacos and two horchata for us. They have seating on both sides of the stand and a little bar attached to the front side of the stand to sit at. We waited for a bit since there people that ordered before us. The food was pretty good and there was a lot of shrimp in my cocktail hehe The taco meat and meat in the burrito were pretty good and the horchata was not too sweet and didn't have too much cinnamon in it, which was good for the both of us. read more

It's one of those tiny dive neighborhood places you review begrudgingly because you don't want it to get swamped, but I just can't help it. Taco Azteca is LIFE. When my life gets too overwhelming, this is the best comfort food. The fact that I live only a few minutes away from it makes it dangerous because I just want to stuff my face with this glorious taco goodness for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, hangover cure and midnight fun. This spot doesn't look like much when driving by, but it is honestly a staple for my home! I'm so glad my friend suggested this place to me because I have been missing out! Don't let the looks fool you, it's nothing fancy but it is delicious. We usually get the asada burritos with cheese, but I've also had their tacos, quesadilla, and their torta, and it is all very tasty. I've had their pastor and fish as well which is also good, but the asada is my favorite. The shrimp cocktail is also surprisingly super tasty too, and I killed the whole thing! The meat here is always seasoned perfectly. It's one of my favorite burritos I've had here in LA. The only con I will say is sometimes, it can be overwhelmingly oily/greasy or the rice is undercooked/hard. It's not like this every time, but occasionally we will order and the grease will be dripping everywhere and it's just a bit too much. I guess in a sense they lack consistency, but when they get it right, it's so good, and we will continue to come back because of that. read more

We ordered the quesadilla with carne asada, really good. Carne asada, chicken, carnitas, al pastor tacos. All good!! The hubs and bro in law got the burritos con todo. They both really liked it.
