El Sauz Tacos #2 is a quick taco stand in Glendale that satisfies mine and my boyfriend's tacos craving! Off the 5 freeway and down the road you'll find this gem of a space. There's a small parking lot with limited spaces behind the taco stand but depending on whether or not it's busy, you'll possibly get stuck having to back out of the parking lot if it's full-- I'd recommend finding street parking. BRIN CASH!! They are a cash only place. They do have an ATM though if needed. As the girlies would say: It's giving authentic street taco stand vibes, so expect the be standing and eating, eating in your car, or if you're lucky, you'll be able to snatch a table! The guy taking our order was kind and polite as I took a few minutes to decide what tacos I wanted. The food came out in less then 5 minutes (truly!!!). I ordered 2 lengua tacos and my boyfriend ordered 3 carne asada tacos. As you can see from the photo my tacos were fullllll of juicy tender lengua. I don't know if El Sauz #2 has changed management or if they just have made changes to their service because of some of the not so great reviews, but I found nothing wrong with their food today or the service. A very nice young woman took my to go order. I ordered a pollo burrito for me and a carne asada burrito for my son and they were great. I would say Burrito King quality. They were big and fat, with plenty of meat inside along with rice and beans, and they came with two salsas, radishes and a few grilled serrano peppers. I really have nothing to complain about. Service was good. Staff friendly and timely. I'm partial to this location because I remember it as Gina's Tacos pre-covid. But, the quesadilla is a no go. I ordered a plain quesadilla, no meat ($7). I'm not sure if it was made in less than 5 minutes because they didn't use any cheese. I knew something was off based on the weight of the take out bag. Good Mexican food located down the street from Glendale Galleria. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and a horchata. Both were good. The horchata was blended just right. It wasn't too creamy and it wasn't too watery. The chicken quesadilla was different from what I'm used to but I still liked it. The biggest difference was that it came with cilantro and onions, so it made for a more textured experience than a smooth one with just chicken and cheese. The service was great and they made the order promptly so I didn't have to wait longer than 5 to 10 minutes. read more

Perfect little burrito spot by the Americana. It is very small and unassuming being a yellow building behind a bus stop, but definitely not regrettable. The burritos come out quickly and are fully filled amazing goodness. Don't ask me if I had these three days in a row because I definitely did. Who am I to deny a carne asada burrito? I'd be a fool to deny it a second time. A bigger fool to deny them a third time. Anyway, service is quick and the staff is amazing. We stopped by for dinner tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. It's a small yellow building near the corner of S Pacific and W Colorado. They have outdoor seating which was nice because we didn't want to have to take it to go. There are a couple tables out front and a few out back that are in this small shaded area. You'll order at the window and our order for three people only took about five minutes. As far as the food, it was much better than I anticipated. Pastor burrito - The tortilla was really good according to my husband. There was a lot of meat in it and it had great flavor. Tostada de Camarón - pretty good flavor and good texture. Same as the tostada de ceviche but with shrimp instead of fish. Pastor taco - It had great flavor and there was a good amount of meat. I don't usually like any type of corn tortillas but I actually liked these ones. They were less gritty and a little thinner. I know nothing about tortillas so you'll have to judge for yourself on that one. Asada taco - a little dry but good portion of meat. Horchata- this was very good. Right texture, not too watery, and great flavor! We got plenty of radishes and we really liked the grilled peppers! I heard a guy there say the tortas were good so maybe give that a try. The prices were good too. Best part was the service. The gentleman who took our order was so polite and patient with. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we liked our food. I got food poisoning from this hole-in-the-wall shack and ended up in the ER. I felt like Mexican food, so naturally, El Sauz was on the radar. Upon arrival, I was greeted by this young kid, at the register. He eagerly fulfilled my order. I had a few Lengua Tacos, and an Asada Burrito. The tacos were perfect! The Lengua was cooked to a tender doneness. The Asada, on the other hand, was very oily, and the meat was dry. If you're a beef lover, hoping for good Asada, this place will utterly, disappoint you. On the other hand, if you enjoy things like Lengua, and Cabeza, you're in luck! They both come perfectly cooked! The place is great for late night grub as well! It's a fifty-fifty split between what you order, and the quality. Still worth it? Not really. The al pastor here, though lacking the traditional pinapple topping, is top notch. Savory, moist, and full of flavor. Though prices keep rising, it's the al pastor that keeps us coming back.
