Im working at NIST this week and saw this place from the road when driving to the site on day one. The big red sight is a beacon of deliciousness!!! This place is cool! The atmosphere is perfect for a lunch getaway or even dinner and drinks with your coworkers. The staff are excellent and friendly with the great ability to guide you through the extensive menu. The menu is packed with awesome culture mixed delectable dishes. I had the chicken taco, I think it was called Rocco Pollo and it was great but could have use some sauce that I chose not to add so I could take in the style. The other taco was the Ma Cho which was an Asian marinade with Korean Gojujon a magnificent saffron rice, and pickled onions plus some jalapeños on top. This was one of the best fusion tacos I've ever had in my life!!! My coworker had a brisket and mac n cheese quesadilla that really looked good. I think Taco Bamba makes solid food that anybody with a discerning taste can enjoy. I've only dined in twice (different locations) and both times I had a torta, the Cubana and Lopez. Both were a delicious mess and they didn't skimp on the meats and fixings. You'll need a lot of napkins. In my case, also a knife and fork. No complaints with this location's operation. Finally a good taco place in Gburg that really competes with Taco Bar and Ixtapalapa Taqueria for best tacos in Gburg. What excites me are the bold flavors of their tacos! You can order just the protein or choose from their traditional menu or from their tacos nuestros menu. Their taco Bamba, even the salmon taco, and the Korean taco just full of flavor and heat. Tastes great and very reasonably priced. Their plain carne asada taco was very good and I added their mild salsa to it. Very pleasantly surprised! Both times I went after 12pm and were lucky enough to get a table. In the back are the fountain soda machine (Coke!) and salsa bar. I'm not into spicy foods anymore and their mild salsa was so good! Place has a lot of windows and let's in a lot of light and even has a bar, with its own bar service to order food and drinks (full bar) and has happy hour from 3-5? With $5 drink specials. Excited to try this new taco bamba location, conveniently located nearby my office. Very fast and quick line to order for pick up, although it's nearly 20 mins to get my to-go order. We arrived in a Thursday night shortly after their grand opening. The line was quite long, but nothing that seemed unreasonable. The food took about 10 and ordering itself took 10-15 minutes due to the size of the line. I order the Jeffery and it came out piping hot and was flavorful. I like this taco bambo and will be back. It's close to home and good food. I will say inside was freezing. It was extremely cold outside, but it was very cold inside too. I went here yesterday for lunch with friends. This was my third time there since they opened in December. First I mm excited that this one opened up as its closer to where I live and I don't need to go to Rockville to get my Taco Bamba fix. The food is always good when I have been. I enjoy and recommend the tacos dirty style. I typically try to get at least one taco dirty style. My main con about this location is they have only had one register opened. This is confusing to me as I go during lunch time which is peak hours. I have even been there once when two people were manning one register which I don't think is efficient. I've been here a couple times now and I will continue to give Taco Bamba my money. The food is delicious when it's fresh. I don't think I'll ever get it to go again. I very much enjoyed their chilaquiles, carne asada torta, and pollo quesadilla. I will definitely get these again (and I have). Their B.E.C. was lacking enough cheese and would be SO MUCH BETTER with a breakfast sausage than chewy bacon. Let me preface this by saying I do not care for chorizo, but I do care for trying new things. Their popular bamba taco (?) was overrated, mostly because the chorizo overpowered all the other flavors. The pozole broth was decent, but really lacked MORE flavor, hominy, and pork. I got one of the woodfired cocktails and I drank it, but it was nothing BUT smoke. Another reviewer had mentioned the loud music, and I do agree the music was a bit too loud. Obviously I have my opinions, but my overall impression of this place is delicious. Delicious tacos! I tried the camaron (shrimp) taco and one of the special tacos called "Juju Da Burger". If you can get over the embarrassment of having to say "I would like a Juju Da Burger", I HIGHLY recommend you try this one. It blew my mind. It was delicious. The shrimp taco was fine but paled in comparison. The torta tradicional and the bamba fries were both delicious and I would 100% order them both again. So this is a review based on pick up and delivery orders through their website. This may be the most consistent place that we go to. Every single thing that we have had here has been amazing. The Jeffery, The wings and that poblano ranch , their traditional tacos and the non traditional are all amazing! My fave non traditional is the Arabe taco which is basically a meal in one taco sooo full of flavor. My favorite traditional taco is the Tinga or the Al pastor. Their Tortas/ breakfast tortas and other sandwiches are also incredible: the Lopez and the Choriqueso are redic. Tonight I tried their Sope w/tinga for the first time and it was phenomenal!! Also every time I go in the staff are very nice and attentive. They always pack and label the food well and provide salsas with the to go orders. The menu is pretty extensive mix of items, most of which is obviously tacos. I had a bamba cup and a sangria, both of which were tasty. The service was rushed and chaotic. The Manager seemed tuned into handling issues and resolved them quickly, so things turned out okay and we enjoyed the meal overall. It's not dirty but it's not "tidy" either. The person taking our order was distracted and got my order wrong but the manager quickly dealt with it and gave me the correct order and refunded the cost. OMG! This place is amazing! Ambiance has lively music, clean facilities, open concept. Staff were courteous and efficient. This joint has a variety of tacos with some fusion of ingredients and sauces of Asian and Caribbean flavor. They make it blend so well and I'm just totally blown away! From classic tacos of Al pastor, chicken and steak to the jerk chicken tacos and Siracha Mayo several others mix. My mouth was watering as I ordered but just didn't have enough space in my stomach to try it all. Today I tried Taco Bamba for the first time and, frankly, was a little disappointed. I ordered the Bamba Brisket Mac and Queso quesadilla and some chips and guac. First the quesadilla: while flavorful, it was extremely thin. There was a minuscule layer of Mac and cheese. I had to look twice to see if any was in there. That goes also for the brisket. When you look at the stock photo from the owner, it looks very hearty and thick. For $13 I really expected more. For that kind of money I can come away full at Chipotles. Now for the chips and guac: for the money, I couldn't complain. The chips were tasty and the guac, while a little heavy on the lime, was plentiful and tasty as well. I had a Jeffery which is like a long egg roll with cheese, peppers and meat stuffed inside. Very tasty! I got lengua taco. ( beef tongue) tasty. I wish they had a fixings bar. I ordered chicken as a healthier option, this wasn't it. Also ordered a side of Guacamole didn't receive it. When I tried to call the restaurant 5x their phone is busy likely off the hook. They should refund at Minimum for the guacamole and the tip since it's not deserved at this point, if not the 2 chicken tacos too. Coming from SoCal, I've been on a mission to find my go to taco spot in the DMV. Currently I would rank Taco Bamba on the higher end of my list, but not the top. My main complaint here is that the tortilla were on the larger side for the tacos, which caused dryness and rubbery texture whenever there were no meat/sauce. We ordered the following: Urban Camaron - shrimp taco with corn and avocado. This was pretty good. It had the most contents for the taco, which minimized my earlier complaint in regards to the large tortilla. Would get this again. Birria Tacos - this was a disappointed on a birria taco point of view. The lamb meat had plenty of flavor, but there was no consume! The tortilla was not even fried, and no cheese. Would pass on this in the future Lengua tacos - the lengua was great, very tender! But there was a lack of meat, which lead to many chewy tortilla being ripped off. Al pastor tacos - I thought this was fairly average. Pineapple was garnished on top, and was pretty cold. I would probably skip this. Sauce bar was good. I tried both the taqueria medium and chile arbol. Neither was too spicy, just only a hint of spice. Overall, I would return again, but would order other things on the menu. When you walk in the place seems like it would turn out pretty authentic tacos. But when you read the me u you start seeing things that don't make sense. Patty melt tacos, chicken nugget tacos. And then we ordered...no onions because I am allergic to raw onion. Everything came with onions. I had to sit there and pick off all of it or risk getting ill. So this was my first time at this location, must say this was a totally different than what I expected. The difference isn't bad just another option. This location is more calm and felt more regular like any other restaurant. Maybe it was the music this location plays a rock list, I'm ok with rock but I rather prefer the music selection at the Rockville location. The Rockville location is an entire VIBE, it's so alive and an entire eating experience. Everyone I take there falls instantly in love. To be fair this location has wins and I don't have any negative feedback. My top rating would go to the outdoor eating area is a huge plus, very pleasant if you eat in the evening when the sun goes down. The food at this location was good. I found out the have certain items only available at that location. Good way to get people to visit all the locations. They have good service. And that is the story of how my life changed forever. A good bit of food. Everything was fresh. It was so freaking hot I had to let it cool. It hit the spot.
